This is going to be contraversial, but I think this version is the second best version. It's in close second position, followed by the one from one and only one Julian Bream's.
I agree, I've found it something sad. As we know, he reboots the Sor's works to better teach this amusing instrument! Indeed, It's a studio work! Cheers from Ichnos!👍
@@MartinoSolla Thanks for your comment. I think many of Sors studies are instrumental songs. We know Sor was also a singer and maybe because of this he often thinks cantabile lines. This means you have to be able to sing one phrase by taking one breath (most of the times). And you should also play it that way. If you choose a real Allegretto tempo its easy to do in this piece. (There is an interpretation I have done under the channel of Siccas here on YT)
I doubt this is Bream's. Bream's version uses darker color tons. This sounds like something Segovia would play. Because it has a lot of bright color tones.
It's actually Segovia who's a nobody in terms of how modern musicians approach Sor's music. Segovia did a lot to popularize the classical guitar in the 20th century and he deserves credit for that, but knowledgeable people aren't trying to play that way now.
They don't try to play that way because they cannot. Faster more technical guitarists cannot capture the soul and beauty of the music and the guitar the way he does. Clearly you are trolling.
@@haanashim What makes you think that people produced by a frantic and superficial age, who are generally full of themselves, can play music from the late 18th, early 19th century better than a mature genius like Andrés Segovia, who is from a time and a mindset in all likelihood much closer to the one of Fernando Sor? The mere fact that you write as carelessly of Segovia as you do shows your lack of caliber... @Krazy Lobster is quite on spot actually.
not keen on the way each melody note is stretched - the timing rocks up and down making me feel sea sick ! prefer th-cam.com/video/y-3s-acKchY/w-d-xo.html
Listen again. It’s perfection of music. Are you playing the piece? His interpretation is spectacular. If you look at the 20 studies selected by Segovia and the Fernando Sor manuscript there are note value differences. You are correct. However, his timing here is his interpretation. He plays this study and gives it life. It’s nearly played here as a prelude. His dynamics are masterful , his timing is superior. It’s not metronomic, that would be easy. I’ve never had a personal chance to study with Segovia. Yet the lessons available here are many. All my best.
It's called Rubato and Segovia often took it to the extreme. However, you are not alone. A lot of people do not like this level of timing manipulation in a piece.
This is not an Segóvia interpertration. Thats Julian Bream interpert. The Segovia's time of notes are dry and classical. This is an modern romantical interpertration thats belongs to Master Julian Bream!
Maestro! The way he plays gives a whole new life to this Study. You can feel the song going up and down. It's beautiful.
A simple study performed at the highest level . This and Eric Henderson’s version are stand out performances. Thanks to whoever put this on TH-cam.

One of the greatest guitarist
Mais assez loin quand même.
Sublime! Thank you!

Grande Segovia!!!
Great master eagle

Excelente!!
An excellent "slowed" version especially who want how to learn how to play it
❤️
I love Segovia. But sorry: the piece is titled Allegretto. And this here is not an Allegretto tempo at all!
guitaropro i believe segovia’s version is moderato
Im sure Segovia, Bream, and Williams are all incorrect in their interpretations and that youre right. /s

The Sor version is also Moderator.

Thats not Segóvia, never. Thats Julian Bream. Don't try to make fool of us!!

It’s Segovia. It was released on his record. There is no shadow of a doubt and nobody’s fooling you, please.
I see what he's doing, but I don't care for it. All that rubato, and manipulated dynamics. Let the arpeggios speak for themselves.
That is why you're nobody, and he is Segovia.

I don't see any profundity in what he did to the Sor. It's a rather obvious idea to apply a terraced dynamic within the arpeggios. And a bad one.
