In the years before TH-cam, I watched the closing credits of "Some Kind of Wonderful" (recorded from TV on VHS tape) hundreds of times, just to hear this song.
Guys! Why didn't you buy the soundtrack? One of the best of the 80's! This song was recorded to many a mixed tape by yours truly, always to raves by the recipients.
@@olliojenarter You're right, because that's exactly why I bought the soundtrack to "So I Married an Axe Murderer." So I could have both versions of "There She Goes" by The La's and The Boo Radleys."
Who is watching in 2024? This movie was more than 30 years ago and reminds me of my everything, love, stupidity, energy and more. I love this song and movie that used this song a lot
Just finished watching Some Kind of Wonderful for about the thousandth time. Love it. At one point I collected every cover I could find of Can’t Help Falling in Love. This is still one of my faves…
I just remembered that there was a catchy, fantastic song in the end credits of the movie "Some kind of wonderful" and this brought me to this song exactly 32 years later...wow!
Probably THE best! John Hughes was an absolute genius director. More than any other, his movies are a literal time machine so we can always get that 80's feeling with the music, styles, school, etc.
This is my hubby's and my love song. Both of us have a nostalgic love for 80s film and music yet neither had watched Some King of Wonderful till we were dating in 2020. When we were discussing getting married, hubby said that this is the song he thinks about when he believed he was first falling in love with me because he was so surprised to have met someone who had the same interests and tastes as well as same beliefs. He's not a romantic fellow, but that made my little soul do a jig.
I was 13 in 1987 watching Some Kind of Wonderful in the theater. I LOVED the movie and instantly fell in love with this song when it came on during the closing credits.
In fact this is one more cover of Elvis's version that is already a cover of French 18th century song "Plaisir d'Amour". Not bad that having been said.
I was 31, with my wife and new born son, somehow he slept through the whole movie but he woke up and started screaming through the credits and I was forced to leave during this song playing and it stuck with me. I had long forgotten where I first heard this version but I found it tonight. The movie is a good one, after all John Hughes, how could it not be good, right? However, I will watch again tonight, but I saw your comment and had to say something.
@@garyd3312 'tis Celtic, it sure is. Welsh at the very least, but I always thought the style was patently Irish, and that she had an Irish accent. Like her accent shows deliberately sounding Irish, where English singers generally are hard to differentiate from American singers.

I love this song, I'm 14 again.... I'm glad for happy memories and super happy to see those who also appreciated this song and "Some Kind of Wonderful"

Never liked the original Elvis but, fell in love with this rendition. First heard from the movie Some Kind of Wonderful as well. I bought the CD. If I remember correctly had to jump through a lot of hoops to get it. Couldn't find it back in the 90s here in the US. I think I had to order it from the band itself. Glad they put it up on TH-cam.
"Georgie F***ing Bugress!!! Jesus, the c***'s older than I am!!!!!!" I've seen the film so many time, yet I still crack up laughing at Jimmy's reaction in this scene...
To be fair, I'd be the same were I to be in his situation, but my "Dublin sense of humor" gets the better of me and I laugh my ass off instead of having sympathy for him...
I remember seeing this on Saturday morning tv in the uk in the 80s and loved it but never saw the record in any shops! Months later I found the 12 inch of Belle of Belfast City by them in the bargain bin and it included a free 7” single of this song! All for 50p
Great Song..Never saw the video until now.. I think its a great video..remember this was a poor Celtic rock group in the mid '80..Fits the bill perfectly
