pokemon stadium (2) has had more lively animations than any pokemon game, that came after it as far as i'm aware, besides of course looking at videos talking about pokemon animations will eventually result in stuff like this being recommended.
I never realized they look like they got a freaking heart attack, just look at Khan, Dratini or Goldeen. Also, I like that Gengar doesn't make a sound when hits the ground, telling us there's no real body there. Those are nice details.

In fact I would argue even X/Y, Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire, Sun/Moon, & Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon might give more personality than Sword/Shield to Pokemon like Aerodactyl as at least those 3DS games included Mega Evolution.

It always kinda bothered me how some heavy looking pokemon fell with with a *pdmmp* and some lighter pokes landed with a *POWWRH* , and here I am still judging them years later haha
Vileplume and Jynx are the interesting ones here. They used the original concept that there's no real body inside Jynx, the "black skin" actually isn't skin but referring that it's nothing inside and Vileplume as a dead plant ghost original concept.
Majority of the Pokémon: *faint normally* Some Pokémon like Clefable: *have the same eyes they do in the anime* Gloom: *has 100 heart attacks and shows her real eyes* Electrode: *same thing with Gloom*
one of my favorites is probably golem the way he shakes as he tries to keep himself up, only to drop in an instant creating dust clouds around him really gives a great sense of weight, it makes him look *heavy* his attack animations are also amazing, just rolling around
the thing I loved most was the actual falling sound. Light pokemon had a slight 'thump' Medium 'Thud' Heavy 'Boom' you could feel the weight of them as they fainted just by the sound.
