    Can I make it to orbit before burning up in the atmosphere?
    This is another cursed KSP video in the style of Danny2462's series where he breaks KSP in every way possible.
    In this video: The atmosphere gets thicker as you get higher up. I need to get to orbit without burning up in Kerbin's atmosphere.

      The weird part is that there *are* some exotic worlds that probably existed in the early universe, and in young galaxies today, where the atmospheric density is inverted. They would have atmospheres of almost entirely helium and an inert heavier gas at a much lower quantity.

      If you were able to find the longest straight line over water and use that as your "orbit", then you'd only have to adjust for the few bits of land you cross & the tiny amount of air friction at ~30 ft above sea level where you spend most of the trip.

    well, that depends

      actually not that bad if you make it so jet engines could work. with a jet engine the ISP is just insane, so although you would have lots of drag, the ISP bonus of breathing engines makes up for it probably. However, since drag goes up with the square of speed (6m/s is 4x the drag of 3m/s), taking it nice and slow would be very beneficial.

    What happens if you make the solar system with a sea level atmosphere?

    • @scooote9478
      @scooote9478 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends. Kerbins atmosphere? jet engines have ridiculous isp so you can fly to Jool with just a juno but if it was like eve's atmosphere or something, thats a different story. Also maneuver nodes would be useless

    Don’t the R.A.P.I.E.R.S. Work without atmosphere?

    • @poqqery8950
      @poqqery8950 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, but the rocket mode is inefficient in comparison to the Reliant engine in the video.

  • @geostorm2860
    @geostorm2860 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    It will be easier on normal kerbin
    You need a TWR of over one (which means fuel sacrifice( with your plane but in normal kerbin you can go up without having a high TWR
    And that is the ugliest looking spaceplane I have ever seen
    But great video
