  • For refugees, being granted leave to the remain in the UK should be a day of celebration. But as the Home Office attempts to clear its backlog, many people are being evicted from asylum seeker accommodation just seven days after receiving a positive decision.

The Guardian visited a Liverpool-based charity, Merseyside Refugee Support Network, which has seen a rise in the numbers of refugees facing destitution. Staff at the centre warn there is potential for refugee camps to appear in the UK and say they fear we may see 'people dying in the parks and on the streets'

my grandmother drove an ambulance in london during the blitz in WW2 but when she needed assisted accommodation at age 92, she had to wait because migrants were given priority. she lived and worked and paid tax in britain her whole life yet took second place to people who had never paid in a penny nor served the country in war. how can that be fair?

It must definitely be horrible to feel overlooked by a system that claims to care for its people - all its people. It seems like the UK needs more priority given to housing and assisted accommodation, and government funding and policies need to start reflecting that priority, so that people like your elderly grandmother and people like these war refugees can _all_ get the shelter and support they need and deserve as a human right.

The UK is overpopulated and we don't have any social housing for our own people, and we certainly cannot house the 780M people that would like to come to the west for a better life. It's a National State of Emergency, we have to close our borders for ten years. Look at the case in Clapham,.London, another chemical attack, children and people injured. He'd been refused asylum twice, he was convicted in 2019 with a suspended sentence, yet the Home office did not deport him. He'd been given asylum from Afghanistan. The Home Office, the immigration service, the justice system has all been infiltrated and British people are suffering due to it It's got to stop now, otherwise it is the end of the British way of life forever. A nation's people never allow themselves to be replaced without a civil, they never willingly allow it to happen until their very survival is at stake, we have certainly got to that point.

Many of the homeless British people I worked with from 2018 - 2021 refused to have ID, refused to make benefit claims, refused to live in hostels and did not want to interact with “the establishment”. Either by choice or mental health reasons.
When we done outreach work we would spend hours trying to engage them in Hackney, the parks, the canals. There are some people who are homeless by choice but it is usually people who have been failed by the system from as early as they can remember. Usually the children’s social care failings, or abuse sustained in prison, or the breakdown of the family where the family court has banished them from their home and access to their children. So whilst for some being homeless is a choice it’s a hard choice that they make to stay away from the system that broke them in the first place.
The system needs fixing at every level but the UK are inviting people from abroad to fail them too, all whilst telling the native citizens it’s their fault the system is broken.

Can we all move to another country illegally cause we think we can earn more money there? Lol. We will be deport instantly. Also, no economic migrants before we feed our own people. Do you know how many people are struggling in the UK right now? Eating or heating. If you’re so kind you can open your home for those illegal immigrants. A kind-hearted woman was walking down a road when she stumbled upon a wounded snake. Feeling compassion for the creature, she decided to take it home and care for it. She nursed the snake back to health, tending to its wounds and ensuring its comfort.
However, as soon as the snake had recovered, it turned on her and bit her. The woman, shocked and dying from the venom, asked the snake why it had betrayed her. With a sinister grin, the snake replied, "You knew I was a snake from the start. You ignored the risks and took me in regardless. So don't act surprised now."
