Just wanted to comment on all the nice reports of fans from Ohio who came out for the game on Saturday to Eugene. Callers to the local radio show are all very complimentary of the OSU fans they met, before, during and after the game. I know it had to be gut-wrenching because of the way the game ended. But the interaction with Buckeye fans proved how decent and courteous Mid West fans are. Good luck to your team going forward. I'd have to guess your team is probably still a strong favorite to win the Big 10 Championship and the National Title.

The clock Management in these games have been horrible. Special teams horrible. In the biggest games when we need to make a play we don't. If the DB wasn't hanging on JJ it was catchable but then can call an OPI was hard to deal with. lots of guys can't tackle & Denzel Burke got exposed, but we can't get any pressure. I guess those saying we had some calls we were holding back on D we're completely wrong. Taking the L was bad, but losing Josh Simmons makes it more painful

There was 10 seconds on the clock when Oregon had 12 men on the field, but the clock ticked down to 6. Why was 10 seconds not put back on the clock after the pre-snap penalty? They left it at 6 seconds, but if it was put back to 10 then there would have been plenty of time for a field goal attempt.

It helps offensive players get used to breaking tackles, and defensive players get used to the physicality of tackling.

As an Oregon fan, I came on here a few days before the game and saw a bunch of comments on how bad Oregon was in the secondary, how they were not physical and how OSU was going to run all over the Oregon DL , yada, yada, yada. I saw some cherry pic bad plays from the Boise State game on here as some analysis of how easy it was going to be to beat Oregon. One, I think Kirk and others have a very elevated opinion of their team that is not very realistic. Oregon fans saw how this OSU defense could be gashed both in the MSU game and the Marshall game. Two, the OSU fans were completely ignorant of Oregon and just focused on the first two games of the season and forgot that Oregon plays up to comp when they feel the team could beat them. Oregon State and MSU being the two games they decided they were going to ball. They were going to be up for this game. They were underestimated by these OSU fans from the kool aid factory. I was told in the chat to come back here after the game so I am here. I am not surprised that Oregon won. My only concern was the deep ball and I suspected that Stine was saving it for this game and we were right. Now we will see a much more explosive Oregon offense. There is nothing to save. I believe it will be Penn State that will meet Oregon in the BIG10 championship. Either way, Oregon is going to be at the top every year so both OSU and Michigan will get a crack of Oregon every year for the chip. Welcome to the NEW BIG10!

Man first time feeling like watching anything buckeye related. Hate losing and was in a bad mood all weekend.
It was an accumaltive effort for sure. From broken coverage, pass interference call, the lightning onside kick, to clock awareness, fumbled run, to a jumbled snap, and a couple of those false starts felt like phantom starts to me, oh well.
But we played well even with those mistakes. We played well enough to be able to win the game. Our pass offense was rolling, still rushed for 140 yards, we were moving the chains, and our defense had some great redzone stops to keep us in the game.
We'll be fine, just have to tighten a few things up. I dont think firing anyone at this time is a good idea. Anyone that says we need to, are too emotioning, dumb, or both.

Oregon grade card: Knowles (D), Ryan Day End of a Game time management (F), Denzel Burke (F), Chip Kelly (B-), Overall Defense (C-), Will Howard (A-), TreVeyon Henderson (A), Overall Tackling (C), DE’s (D), and QB Pressure (F). Perspective on Ryan Day narrative if one thing changed in the recent past: Clemson 2019 CFP (Shawn Wade and Trevor Lawrence targeting AND the over turned 4th qtr. Scoop and Score), playing a legendary Bama team in the Natty seriously shorthanded by COVID (1 All- American DT, 1 All-Big Ten DT, and 1st string kicker out) and no one sick/missing for the Tide, no targeting on MHJ inside the red zone with Georgia in the CFP semis (we get that one call and we’re playing TCU for the Natty), and an horrendous zebra call on JJ Smith for OPI which takes us out of winning FG position.

Even with Burke getting cooked in the 1st half, if we win the 2nd half by 2 points, we win. We held them to 10 points in the 2nd half. If the offense puts up 12 points in the 2nd half we win. Its hard to win in big games if you can't stretch the field, Howard has got to work on throwing the deep ball. If not, defenses can stack the box(like Oregon) and stop the run and play zone.

Yes burke was terrible but they still gave up easy passes in the middle and playing 3 safeties just isn't working cause ransom can't cover either!!! Lbs are just not very smart like laurinitaus said about hicks basically last year!!! They are slow reacting to plays and it shows a lot!!! JT and jack are just busts, so we need to rotate more or even let other guys start and i know they won't do that but i would!!! Will played solid i agree but his deep ball is definitely a problem cause that throw to JJ was just terrible when jj cooked that corner!!! I’m so happy we spent the $20 Million NIL Money on
    1) Will Howard instead of Dillion Gabriel or Ward at Miami. Thank God we don’t have to worry about Quinn Ewers anymore. How many completed throws of over 30 yards from the line of scrimmage have they each thrown all year? Nuff said. Saban was Right. It’s really a tribute to our RBs that they can occasionally break long runs as the Defense knows we can’t throw over 30 yards from scrimmage. Additionally, our Receivers have more difficulty getting separation as there is no deep threat. JT Barrett all over again. Btw, Saban himself said Cardel Jones was the difference in the NC Game as he forced Bama to cover the entire field. Does Nevada know more than Nick Saban?
    2) Re-signing “Elite” DEs Jack Sawyer and JTT. They both look like third day draft picks. Not Quick Twitch, Not Super Strong, Not Great Technique. But NIL Millionaires. Saban knew when he blasted Day’s NIL Spending on ESPN. I know, Nevada & Kirk know more than Nick Saban.
    3. DBs BIA needs to Stop. More Millions wasted on NIL and I’m not blaming Caleb Downs. I don’t even know if our Million Dollar NIL CB is draft able? Saban knew. Safeties overrated too other than Downs. Has Downs game also regressed at Ohio State?

There were 3 big questions going into this game. Is our QB a big game playmaker or just a good ball distributor? Is the O-Line truly Gap sound? Is Jim Knowles D-Line capable of pressure against a real opponent? Unfortunately the answer to all 3 of those questions in this game was No. Will they get it fixed? Or will these kids continue to believe their social media hype? Unfortunately Ryan Day is 1-7 vs Top 5 teams and Jim's "limit the explosives" without a pass rush is not working against real teams. Kirk, break it down please.

@@joelbrooks3198 No they didn’t….not even CLOSE. It was 7-0 at the end for the first half (for all the wrong reasons). Then they came out and played with a sense of urgency, and discipline in the 2nd half, as the score showed. The previous week (I believe) Marshall marched down the field in what seemed like seconds and scored in the first quarter, exposing this secondary for EXACTLY what it is, as of this comment. We used to beat Marshal 60-3 with our 3rd string in by the 3rd quarter. The only time I’ve seen this team come out and play disciplined, and inspired football for 60 full minutes, was against Western Michigan. And, I’d love Ryan Day to get this team turned around playing spectacular, physical, disciplined, fundamentally sound football from here on out (as they should for $20million). I’ll be the first to congratulate him. But, in 4yrs he has yet to do it.

    Overview
DL is not good enough. JTT is just not good period. No pass rush and not great against the rush.
LB are below average. Bad angles most of the time. They catch instead of fill open windows.
Secondary-Downs is the only stud. Ransom is ok. Both corners are liabilities. I don’t want to hear BIA from this group for the rest of the year. Burke should have been benched. Burke running his mouth about natty or bust all offseason and he was the single biggest reason the lost happened. He is terrible and I have never understood the love feat with him. Never done anything to justify #1 corner status.
Knowles is going to be replaced soon if there is not changes quickly. Our defense has not looked good at all in talent equated games. Be get killed on the ground and NO pass rush.
QB- Howard is solid. He had one boneheaded play at the end of the game but Day is more to blame because he managed the last minute of the game terribly.
    RB’s solid group. Great tandem.
OL- have been solid most of the year. Being down 2 starters for a decent chunk of the game they made it work. Development moving forward will be huge.
WR/TE-smith is unreal, Emeka is a leader, need more from Tate but he does block. Inis is a solid 4. Gee is a joke blocking, ok receiver. Thurmond must step up. Essential moving forward.
Coaching- Day is 1-7 in talent equated games. He is what he is. I think he is a great guy but he eventually has to win a big game or he’ll be unemployed. I think 10-2 without a deep run in the playoff… he’ll be unemployed

Oh Nevada, not only did we get screwed on the opi, we also got screwed the play before that when the defender was holding jj smith's hand/arm and should've been dpi. If the refs let 1 go, they have to let the other go too. Let them play like you did all night. Go Bucks!!!
