I once found a high school class ring while metal detecting in an old local swimming area that was lost 30+ years ago and was able to track down the owner! He just knew he'd never see it again.. Volts don’t “pulse” , current (amps) is what causes the pulse. Think of volts as electrical potential, and the current as the result of that potential

Michael, it’s wonderful you do everything you can to return jewelry to its owner. My question is how long can you hold on to all that stuff? Have you not set a cut off date? It would seem you have to or you could end up with thousands of pieces.

Highly unlikely that a low karat gold ring like that would have real rubies in it. Most likely garnet or glass stones. Very cool hunt. Metal detecting season has just started back up for the spring where I am. Have had a couple good hunts so far.
Gotta be careful, I have a vibra tector and went over a sting ray but I was lucky

Native badjaws beg for coins along shipsides. Toss a coin 50 meters away from them into the water and they'd retrieve it in seconds...with100% success..without detectors.
