I think the idea of the motel being a temporary CDC outpost is a good one. Another potential idea is to have a plane crash because of infected passengers and slam right into something. Could be a building, could be a ship in a harbor, could be a forest, or whatever
I sure hope he doesn’t make it stick into a building haha 😂
@@JCjn521B
@@JCjn521B oh cmon that would look so cool with like moss growing down from it and stuff
@@maple619 yes but unless it’s a very small plane, it’s physically impossible or very difficult but I know what you mean haha
It could be the reason for the outbreak
as you said in the first video, you cant go on for ever.. Heres some ideas for those "invisible barriers"
1: Fallen powerlines
2: Semi truck rollover
3: plane crash into road
4: bridge over river thats collapsed
5: destroyed road
good points, marked~ thx man~
I feel like during a pandemic the military would try to stop people lesving/quarantine the city. So roads could have been torn up by the government, spike strips and military outposts that shot on sight. Along this invisible barrier there could be downed helicopters, abandoned police checkpoints. It could be cool to see one side of a checkpoint completely congested, with the other side clear, except for a few cars that might have been driving in, motorbikes and such. Also outside an abandoned town in the US (look up city abandoned from coal fire) has graffiti lining the highway,
Just to make it a little more realistic, you should put the train tracks closer to the road. If a train derails, it wouldn't go in a line. The cars behind the engine would all bunch up. Also, you could have the train be a passenger train that had a bnch of infected people that took over the train caused it to crash. All the infected people spiled onto the road and attacked the people who tried to help.
I love the idea of making an abandoned city in City Skylines! You are doing an amazing job with all the details!
Damn, you're right! I need to make some changes to the train!
Yay, finally!!! This series is going to blow up, trust me.
Just like whatever’s burning
@@ERROR_F1LEi laughed
I just don’t understand how the fires are still going, as the entire town is already covered in vegetation. Those must have been burning for years, through rain and snow alike!
Edit:
When I made this comment, I didn’t watch the entire video yet.. but point still stands, just in reverse; why is the town overgrown if the disaster took place a day ago?
Lol~ You’ll get used to it~ in fact, none of the specifics have been locked down. and I haven't tried to make the town overgrown yet~
Aesthetics lol?
@@doubledonkey it could be e-vehicle fires, them batteries burn from years (without being actively put out they may reignite)
Easily my fave series on this game!!
Amazing stuff man, really love what you're doing, cant wait to see more!
With that said, I do have some suggestions:
1.Maybe the reason there wasn't many firetrucks at the other buildings along the highway and the highway itself, was because the power plant had caught fire as well, would tie in nicely to the Chernobyl reference, a fire at the power plant would be devastating (Especially if the damage was to the cooling systems) to things like even in this kind of apocalypse scenario, so I would make sense the fire department would focus on it. I'm no expert, but maybe in the panic of the moment a mistake was made at the power plant to cause it, since there is a zombie apocalypse and all.
2. Another thing I love, is the national park idea. It would definitely be a great place for something like a survivor's base: Plenty of wildlife, and places to farm crops. A base around something like a ranger station or a fire watch tower would definitely make logical sense.
That's all really, hope at least of these sounds intriguing. Keep making great videos man!
Makes perfect sense! Great suggestions! thx a lot man!
No problem dude! :)
I've always thought that if I worked on environmental design for a game set in the post apocalypse, I'd implement environmental story-telling with every asset I placed.
For example, if I wanted to depict a car accident, I wouldn't just randomly place the cars haphazardly. I'd imagine how the crash happened, and why the cars ended up where they are in the environment.
You can combine all the stories! Here is the story: A zombie virus breaks out in the city and people are trying to evacuate with the efforts of the army and the police. During these evacuations, many tasks are left unfinished, and one of them is the first test of the nuclear power plant. The facility is suddenly evacuated by a zombie army raid, but the mechanisms to cool the nuclear fusion are not activated. First, a nuclear meltdown occurs, then an explosion. OR the situation in the city is so dire and the zombies aggression is so uncontrollable that the army decides to drop a nuclear bomb on the city. MAYBE just a nuclear war.
So glad to see you continuing this series! I would love if you included a section of the city that was flooded and is now partially underwater. Depending on how long it has been abandoned for, water levels may have rose or the land might have begun to subside.
flooded town~ nice!~ marked~
Why r u underated ur so fun to watch you should have thousands of subs😭😭
I say after the city fell the motel became a sort of hospital type building for people who got hurt in the car crashes and everything else
Maybe a abandoned campground in the outskirts would look cool 😅
Edit: also maybe a log cabin with a pickup truck in the woods if in the future a forest is added
Also maybe some car crashes on the side of the road so it looks like people were so scared they tried driving on the sides of the road and then getting stuck in mud and stuff like that and maybe a few bushes and trees on the road so it looks like nature broke through the cement ps:love this series ❤
I’m not even 1 minute into the video and you’re already being so creative and making the map even better , please continue love it ❤.
This series is something I have been wishing for
I think the idea of storm damage would be good, like a storm could have knocked a tree into a house or building of some kind
Subbed to this channel purely after seeing the last video. Your anecdotes are amazing as your building. This series is incredibly underrated. Therefore here is a comment to feed the algorithym.
Lol
previous video got recommended to me and it didn't disappoint! its new and this is gonna blow up
If i may. I have a tiny, teeny tiny idea... Before youd make a massive city or nuclear power plant... You could. Instead make a small shabby town. Like ones youd see on the edges of the big cities... This is just my idea and such but. You could always see how it looks... And if thats not your taste. Then even just one or two shabby homes with small pathes, way off the road could be a nice touch
@@therealolli I will try ~
story line idea: The city was established when a new radioactive material was found underground. Many mines were built and a Nuclear powerplant was used as a main source of power for the city. After a while people started getting sick when exposed to too much of the material, most got sick in a powerplant and it exploded releasing the stuff in the air (possibly making everyone turn into zombies) people were trying to escape, but the chemical was way too violent and killed/turned people feral in a matter of seconds (reason for abandoned cars and emergency vehicles). The areas further from the power plant weren't affected at first but as wind/zombies made their way there the real catastrophe began...
Absolutely beautiful work 🤩
Amazing series love it !
Great work
yes! i've been looking forward to a new episode, this series is amazing! keep up the great work!
I feel like with the CDC outpost at the motel, you should add a few military vehicles scattered around (if theres any props for these yet). But like a few humvees scattered around or a few transport trucks. Because in the event of something like this happening, a local National Guard response would be very, very likely.
, good idea man! I think I'll look through the existing vehicles and see if I can tweak their colors to make them look like military vehicles. for your support!
Im in love with tis series. I wonder if we could have a backstory with the zombie virus tying in with a nuclear disaster like the nuclear plant exploded causing a nearby virus research center to mutate and cause an outbreak. Sounds cliché but I think its a actual good point on what happened to the city. Probably cooked or just flatten out don't know thought it be a good idea.
My thought too! And what about the rest of the world? Has the entire continent/earth fallen, or is it just this city with heavy, military barricading around the county parameters? (Another possible invisible wall, a literal WALL!)
LOVEE THIS SERIES DEFINITELY LOVE THE ZOMBIE ASPECT
Even tho i dont play city skylines, i learned things about how an apocalypse work. And that says something about how you explain throughout the video. I hope you continue this!
Biiig fan of zombie/infection series’ if you end up adding the nuclear plant I suggest considering that could be the center of the outbreak? This way you have an area to sort of center the larger damage around then less immediate damage the farther away. Virus wise it could be viral in a TLOU way where the closer you are to the power plant the more infected you are or you could go The Crazies/Cabin fever route where (spoilers) the infection is in the water and could explain the police presence trying to contain those coming in and out of the town. As someone who loves building detailed world building it may be easier to find a center point and work outwards/inwards decoratively lol
Big fan of the series already can’t wait for more!!!
A center point is definitely a great idea!
One of the best cs2 series right now enjoying every bit of it you can make a truck stop near the nuclear plant and make it look like it got burned due to it being close to nuclear plant
Idea: maybe add a train station and a small rail yard. The survives can use this place to be a refuge in the station’s hotel and the stations café can be used for a short term food resource. The yard can store weapons that were stolen from the gun smith down the road. And there might even be a few trains coming to drop off supplies or get the survivors out of there. And I love you videos ❤❤😊
stolen from the gun smith? where was the gun smith back then?
Really cool and I’m glad you specified on how abandoned the city is (hours or a day later)
Some things you could add is
-vehicles that went off road to escape the jammed highways and streets
-abandoned helicopters (if you have a prop for that)
-groups of vehicles huddled together or around a key building that formed a small survivors camp (EX: EP-1 of The Walking Dead when Rick Grimes is traveling to Atlanta and stops at a Gas Station and encounters the little infected girl)
My idea for the motel, was that it was a hotspot for survivor activity, but greedy members of the gangs slowly carved it out, burning and killing one another, before all chaos broke out, the building was burned, ransacked, and little remained of the place. A demonstration on how humans struggle to live together in peace, without disagreement.
Looks great. Maybe you can add walls around the city that were set up in an attempt to contain the outbreak, or maybe some bombed out neighborhoods/high density residential areas that were destroyed by the military to prevent further spread. Kind of like operation Cobalt from the Walking Dead
tbh I would love the kind of scenario where literally everything goes wrong for all the different reasons.
Imagine zombie apocalypse, a plane crashes into a coal power plant, causing fire, and another one breaks a nearby flood walls, flooding several blocks.
Also, I'm quite sure nuclear power plants are even safer than gas stations, so they probably wouldn't be a cause. All it needs is fuel to create heat and water to turn into steam. And even if there isn't either of those, nor any personell, it still won't blow up. Doesn't mean you can't play with the idea, like having a terrorist takeover with them dumping unused nuclear fuel into the water or have it damaged by flood making people afraid of unforseen consequences. It's more subtle. Maybe emergency services couldn't react to the rest of the city going to hell, because they were overstretched trying to tend to a results of a bomb detonation at the plant and casualties.
You should think about in the near future you should add in crashed aircraft such as passenger planes on some of these highways and adding in Military vehicles such as Tanks and Humvees.
so, when before releasing episode 3, you should put collapsed and damaged wooden houses because of the heavy fire when setting up the Abandoned surubs, scattered in crashed cars, and blocked roads. also when setting up the chernoboly, i did say that you need to put rubble and debris due to the radiatoning explosion like that incident in 1986. also dont forget to make more detailed trash! also when making episode 5, make an damaged supermarket scattered ewith shopping carts, and taken food and water everywhere. Also leave some food and water dropped in the supermarket’s floor.
my idea for ur future of abandoned city episodes
and also make more real life-realisicly when setting up realistic nature, and set ip reslistic abandoned things for ur detailed absndoned city!
and when preparing episode 6, make an empty military base somewhere in the outskirts! its most likely due to the army have their mission to evacuvate residents when an incident happened in chernoboly.
And dont forget to set up the abandoned indrusital zones, as likely workers have been died due to the high radiaton near the exploded chernoboly.
u mentioned episode 3.5 and 6, what about 4?
Man the commentary is wild.
You should add on a roof or too tiny surrvivor camps, like that not everyone made it out before the area was shut down. Could add some nice story elements.
Another epic video, Suggestion: A survivor base camp, and a quarantine zone, where they tried to contain the outbreak, but it was too late. (Thanks for adding the train!)
Motel could be a temporary coordination centre/Emergency command post for the evacuation of the city. Think the city council taking it over for the emergency services to plan, coord evacuation and also somewhere for them to stay
I think that the owner was a nice old lady that tried to help the survivors but sadly died after raiders tried to attack the motel.
Adding on to the plane idea from last time, The explosion of the nuclear plant caused a plane to crash into the towns radio/internet/cell phone tower, because of this people in the area couldn't get into contact with help from other areas until it was too late.
thats a great one!marked
oh is this gonna be a cool vid
A city abandoned that long wouldn't be burning anymore. All the fire would have went out years ago
goated series
3:10 It seems to me that smoke makes no sense, after all, you yourself said that this city has been abandoned for several years, so there shouldn't be any smoke there long ago, and if there is, then the city can't look so abandoned, because in two or three days would the city be as healthy as it was at the beginning of the disaster and would not be overgrown with vegetation, etc.
yea
Love this series
when a tornado hit my hometown a long time ago every highway in the area was gridlocked like this from people leaving their destroyed/damaged homes
I love the series and I am inspired to do the same, Never though of using Cities Skyline for environment design. this would help me plan out scenes.
I have an idea you could add to the abandoned city; Make little make shift refugee camps alone side the highway. Maybe some people hung around after the disaster and chaos hoping to be saved, but ended up leaving after realising nobody was coming to help.
Beautifuy executed idea, my suggestions would be to place some cars not on the road. Mid driving transformations, people losing control, survivors just trying to find ways around abandoned cars on the road, maybe even survivors setting up their own roadblocks, and the aftermath of an ambush. Non road related suggestions could be survivors camps, whether they be survivalist tents or people attempting walled spaces as in the black death, made just before the plague as it was announced, or in the weeks following. Great video ❤
Make a junkyard that became a secure base with large double wire fences. The second fence could have wood to reinforce them. Maybe some overturned cars leaning against the fences. Some watchtowers would be cool too.
After that it would be cool if a big truck had invaded, made a hole in the fence and destroyed some things inside.
Inside the junkyard it would be interesting to make a sleeping area with tents and maybe a small vegetable garden.
incredible series. exploring CS2 in a totally different way. 🔥
I like the double fences! marked!
Idea: Have a massive rocky cliffside river/creek going under the highway. With the pavilion overlooking it.
Maybe create an apartment where the survivors could reside, it is all boarded up so people inside could be safe from zombies....
This is amaizing love it
Doesn’t have to be exact, but some ideas from Fallout could work! Skeletons, more crumbled houses and buildings, maybe craters could work!
IDEA: Maybe a small hospital or clinic where the infected people were is surrounded by police cars/military vehicles as they realize everyone are infected. Or a school for refugees to be at.
I think a supermarket that is completely overruned fits the settings.
Since sully made those beautiful tire marks maybe add a couple car guys drifting in one of the parking lots?
I mean, you could maybe put a military outpost out front of the power plant like the military was trying to take it back and hold it down of maybe they’ll try to stop it from melting down it would be interesting
I think the train derailment needs to be more chaotic, with the force of the train forward motion and the weight of the cars behind the engine the train should be a complete wreck, with cars being sideways and upside down in every direction (of course where the forward momentum puts it)
Cant wait
@@salarazimzadegan2184 me too
You could also put some plants on the streets to make it look like grass grew thru the cracks in the road over time. And another suggestion would be to maybe line up most of the cars in the parking lot as (atleast I wouldn’t) just leave my car crooked on the parking lot before the apocalypse for example. (It’s just to make it look a little more realistic, if you know what I mean haha)
I think I got it~
Add to the barbecue area a broken bus that drove off the parking lot and fell into a cliff where there is a stone road with a bench 12:12
I know its a little late, but for the hotel backstory, maybe the owner let people from the highway hide from the zombies in there. There could be a bunch of cars trying to enter the hotel parking lot and a car could even be crashed into the side of the building
A broken down bridge with cars that fell down into a river, canyon or something like that would be very hard to do I guess but so cool so why not try it ?
The ending clips where the buildings collapsed were pretty cool. I have an idea of where you could have a tsll buidlign that collaped onto the highway, resulting in the lanes being blocked, leading to the roads being backed up. The plane ideas people had sounded cool too. Great job wy the way. 👍
I like those collapsing too~ hahaha~
God the last of us is my favourite game! Played it first time when i was 14
Since the disaster wouldnt you have some military on the highway, having a abundance of police is good but a disaster of this scale would deffo have military activity
Maybe add an Evacuation center, or somewhere where people tried to go for safety, since the map is giving vibes of Zombies or something regarding some source of infection.
Could be done in a medical center, whit a few buses.
The Train Should be Transporting Uranium to the Power plant and now it is leaking everywhere which made zombies and the virus
amazing job
So, I've thinking about what can cause this, all suggestion are good and valid, but I've one that actually can fit: something like the last of us but that happened in real life in 1903.
In Alicudi, a small Sicilian island, in the last century had experienced a collective allucination due to a mushroom, same scenario as TLOU, that spread in all the cereals and flour used to make bread and pasta. Since it was a small island all people got this alteraded food from the supplier and there werent others. That strange situation lead people of the island to have collective allucination that includes seeing ghosts, demons and even flying womens. That's a more likely to happen situation then a zombies apocalipse and collective allucination in our times can lead really to anything from aliens, to zombies to a foreign enemy invasion!
thats amazing bro !
You should add a fallen tree in like a car or something maybe even a building love your vids!!
You should add a crash helicopter next to the building
So I’m thinking of small town at the outskirts with all the necessary services and the CDC station that’s abandoned too and I’m also thinking of abandoned chemical plant
My Idea of a backstory for the motel: Being at the major intersection of a highway, the owners gave in to regional crime organizations like cartels, letting them create a massive drug lab underneath the motel that brought the owners a massive influx of money each year while the major crime organizations in the region met up at the motel like some sort of secret trade center, while also producing and selling the goods there, all while seeming normal to the eyes of the authorities as simply a major motel that brought in huge amounts of revenue each year from motorists checking in from the highway intersection it was next to. On the day of the apocalypse, the owners of the motel scurried along with some of their employees in the lab to get as much of the material and product from the lab out of the city before it all went to hell. Unfortunately for them, some cops at the blockade noticed them, and soon, a massive shootout occurred at the motel between the police and the criminals working in the lab. As an end result, equipment from the lab was caught in the crossfire and eventually erupted in a massive explosion, blowing up the front lobby of the motel where the equipment was being carried through. Military equipment and wrecked police cars can be found in the front parking lot, remnants from the shootout. Thanks for reading! Just an idea for the motel that crossed my mind.
I like the idea that the motel was maybe some type CDC headquarters im thinking the idea is that its a temporary base and maybe the military has posted there researching stuff kicked the old owner out the old owner refused to allow his hotel being taken over and fought to back but in the process doesn't realize that CDC/military is only trying to help stubborn he blocks the area semi trailers, my thinking is some type of stand off happened but obviously didn't go well reason i say this is because in real life i like to think that people would try to arm themselves like protecting their property rather that be in a natural disaster or not and i also like to imagine that in a realistic scenario they're more then likely will refuse to give up their property even in dangerous times because maybe they believe their better off staying or not.
Very Original Series!
I would remove the traffic jam facing the direction into the city, since it wouldn’t make sense for people to be going en masse towards the disaster. For reference of what I mean, there’s a scene in Megamind that shows one side of the highway completely packed while the other is empty.
It’s also like that one Walking Dead scene
I know a lot of people have brought up this point, but in fact, this highway doesn't actually lead into or out of the city; it's just the kind of highway that happens to pass through the town. I think the impression that people are running away should become more apparent as more things get built.
@@doubledonkey Ah, that makes sense. Sorry I kept commenting this, my notifications weren’t working so I didn’t realize you saw it and responded lol.
why are you not popular. like you are so underrated
It’s not going to happen overnight, patience is the key.
I like the idea a. Motel being an outpost but what if the police the cause of the powerplant explosion discovered hand made bombs in a Motel room maybe thats the cause of the powerplant explosion?
"They're dropping napalm in the streets."
-Shane, The Walking Dead
It's Sean or Shaun I can't remember
IK its totally unrealistic but maybe in the future add like a town in the mountains half consumed by a glaciers advance
My idea of the motel is how you see the ambulance and the police officer is where the first infected patient was born.
i always thought that if you hit a gas pump with a car, it'll just blow up. i feel lied too
If we're going with the idea of a Nuclear Disaster, the motel could have instead been a dumping grounds for all the radioactive equipment that was deemed too irradiated to use, like rubble piles filling the rooms and outside, with broken down helicopters and vehicles in the parking lot. Would add so much more to the story if there was evidence of human interaction after the initial disaster, but which ultimately failed, kind of like those roadblocks on the interchange that cars seemingly broke through
Pls make a Survivor camp aat the front of the Motel with some tents and stuff. Which is a little nod to Telltale The Walking Dead
This is a great idea! What mods did you use in this video so I can do something similar?
check mod list here ~ th-cam.com/video/lV9X1V8CrIM/w-d-xo.html
Hey, i think you should make the train roll over instead pf driving to the High way, it could add more realism and physics to it.
Also, in my opinion, you should make a Hospital or an Medical Camp, it could add a lore to the City. Like: the hospital/medical camp has is the first infected and chaos started.
Well thats my Opinion, thanks for reading it 🙏
The motel you should put some park cars outside of it trucks RVs and burn out cars as well and a bunch of tires furniture junk
If people are trying to get out of the city wouldn’t both lanes of the highway be outgoing traffic to leave? Or maybe one side is completely empty, open for emergency services and military to enter and the other side is civilians leaving the city instead of going into it. Just a thought.
i have an idea, you can use like Rocks or like Wrecks of buildings to block roads in the city so we don't see like all just cars and fire blocking the roads
I think the person who caused everything to go downhill stayed at the motel
if you are going the zombie route or maybe even the nuclear plant explosion route you could do like a government evacuation point at a large building like a school or a stadium somewhere centralized that would be easy to get to but also saw a lot of the initial chaos due to its purpose and the amount of people flocking to it.
Should consider what the town did/supported before the event; basically the why is the town here?
Small towns, generally would support two industries at least, and we have power generation already. The other could be farming, fishing, tourism (high seasonal pop low permanent pop), mining, or industrial. Gives some options for sections near or in town
good points, marked.
If it's meant to have a zombie component, will you possibly be adding signs of survivors trying to survive? Even if they aren't there anymore? Like setting up fortification to make buildings safer from zombies, signs of looting, maybe even some "survivors inside" or "help" signs on roofs, etc.?
sounds reasonable !~marked~
Can you make othe next video: A military or Survivors camp, or a gate in the entrance of the town (the military and police block the entrance to prevent more people to escape and contain the virus)
the world in The Divison games (1 and 2) could help to imagine a city that gone.
Cars in locations wasn't supose to and other things.
You should probably have one of the billboards placed at the motel fallen over on a car from ware and decay from it not being tended to
It would look cool if you could add like a fallen bridge onto the highway.. Like because an overload truck drove on it
I think that, after this episode, you should build some buildings around the highway of people who lived there! Good Job
