Yeah, they were much better off redoing Air Transat 236 than Alaska 261. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the original episode, and the remake has such terrible acting and storytelling that it has to be one of the worst episodes of this show... worse than Tenerife (Season 16).
The new episode missed some vital information. A few examples are as follows: -Economic downturn in the early 90s and increased competition led AS cut corners to revive. -What happened to John Liotine when he reported the airline? He was suspended from his job. -An x amount of maintenance personnel were suspended from there jobs for falsifying records. -When the horizontal stabiliser failed, it moved in the down position and bits of the elevators tor off from the stress (the animation doesn't show this). In addition, when the actors had to talk like the real pilots (based off CVR transcripts) they were way off. The original episode was much better thought out. This one felt rushed.
This will actually become MORE of an issue after 2016 because of D.E.I hiring. Take a look at these dei companies that do airline maintenance and you will be SHOCKED At who is keeping that plane in the air.. you won't fly anymore
They put an old gringo guy in a suit in this documentary talking about how heroic the poor pilots were to shift the blame away from this airline's negligence. I travel a lot on this airline, but now I will opt to switch to another one."
The newer episode really emphasized how close they were to the airport before they crashed; its saddening
Man, flight 261 is one that still scares me.
Also the one that still scares me is flight 401 which crashed in the Florida everglades and people reported ghost sightings 😳
@@Ladies_Of_death all plane crashes are tragic ...
@@travelerforever8849 I agree with you
Thats the worst feeling everyone had on plane, to see it coming ..
Ill never gonna fly it that tail type of airplane....
No grease and poor maintenance along with companies cutting corners for profit and this is what happens may the victims rest in peace
That's UNACCEPTABLE! Tantamount to idol worship! (the dollar)
@@htos1av exactly 💯
Time to regulate those companies better, maybe? 🤔
So not only the guiding ridges jammed with the jackscrew, the jackscrew actually ripped them out completely! No wonder that stabilizer jammed!
Lessons learned in blood, a great and terrible example why maintenance in aviation needs to be done right every time.
Poor maintenance has caused so many of the worst aviation accidents.
Keep in mind that Alaska 261 is basically a rebooted episode from ACI S1.

Feel scared when passengers die but I must fly
Flying in the air maintenance should be perfect. Unless taking so much lives.
Does anyone know the name of the narrator?
