    You have a nice manner. I think my mum would like you. Also the video is very helpful and gave some inspiration.

    Alternatives to using VCAs in this demo:
    First 2 examples could be done with a simple mixer. The next patch can be done with a mixer into a Doepfer A151 4:1 switch .

    This is really cool of you guys to keep trying to make modular easier to navigate. But I still keep thinking there has got to be an easier way to do this ! Even when I want to understand it completely but my brain says fuck this shit. So I try again and my brain says why is this so important? Is there an answer to why we complicate everything we do ? I’m still way on the fence with modular and VCA patching ( which still causes headaches to this day every time I patch from scratch) and use an envelope generator . Voltages never spoke to me the way exploring a normalized synth does because the limitations aren’t really considered when we are being purely inspired by a synths CHARACTER / limits. That causes breakthroughs which are very important to synth players that are more compositionally driven . And this gentleman should be commended for trying to get us to understand the process.I know it must frustrate the modular community that everyone isn’t just so excited about modular but I think a real breakthrough in modular is coming that will solve this someday. Food for thought.👽

      Think of a VCA as a faucet controlling the signal going through it. If you want to open it by hand you can turn the tap open or closed or somewhere in between. Normalized synths have these sprinkled throughout the design, you just don't see them but anything with an amount knob is probably going to be a VCA.

      it's definitely a kooky concept to wrap your head around, but Marc here is on point, VCAs mostly control how much of any given voltage is allowed through them. The best way to gain an understanding on working them into your patching is probably to play around, experimenting leads to discovery!

      @@PerfectCircuit true . Today I’ll get out the Modulor 114 and try to make the VCAs do something interesting as a homage to all your efforts . Please don’t forget to notify me when the PERKONS drum synth is ready to be purchased! That and the Norand mono are my next purchases 👽

    So how is the Dixie synced from the PNW and Muxlicer? If someone could explain how its patched it would be much appreciated :)

    • @PerfectCircuit
      @PerfectCircuit  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The dixie is just receiving a gate to reset the phase from pams, and the muxslicer is just sequencing the frequency!

    Nice videos! Does linear VCAs work good with both CV modulation and level control of audio signals envelopes? Is it correct that you use exponential envelopes through linear VCAs when controling the level of audio signals?
