Nobody can keep themselves from smiling while listening to a kookaburra. That laugh of theirs is so infectious!
Is that why their called that?
Cuz i couldnt stop laughing hearing this thing kaw
For either one of two reasons
A) like u said, infectious/contagious
B) imagining what itd be like living next to one of these😂😂😂😂😂😂
Or both
Seriously though this thing sounds like its mimicking a primate, or am i trippin?
Ear to Ear, I just looked this up to hear it.
@@GeoHvl sounds like my decepticon friend starscream laughing at our leadr megatron
Not when they trapped jn a zoo
@@davidpeters3857 it's a good zoo I promise you
I'm a a Australian and I hear our kookaburras down the oval and out on our telegraph poles they will let us know when it's going to rain, we have the most amazing birds and wild life here in Australia we have been very lucky to have grown up in this wild country they are even more magnificent when you hear them live outside your door in a tree God bless all of our wild life in our world.
😁😇🥰😍🙂😁
What an amazing comment
I live in Australia to it’s such a beautiful sound
You think huntsman spiders are amazing?
May they burn in hell.
They have the greatest call. On old American cartoons you can sometimes hear that call in the background to simulate jungle in Africa. That makes me laugh.
0:09 : When your car finally starts
SomeOneTheRealOne hahahaha
Señor Alkamer you mean: ooo ooo ooo ahh ahh ahh ahh ooo ooo ooo ahh ahh ahhhhhh ahhhhh
sounds more like a motorcycle low on fuel
Yes!
Underrated
Kookaburras laughing outside my window every morning, makes me have a free, cute and funny alarm 😂💕
Lucky you man!
Better than any rooster
That sounds like a literal nightmare to wake up every morning to a demon being summoned outside your window
The kookaburra: WAKE UP NOW!
@@HelpMeBuy6cowsPls kept me from being late to school and then work haha
I have absolutely fallen in love with this bird. Easy for me to say, I've never lived within a thousand miles of one.
You need to come to Australia to hear them in the wild . Walking in or near forested areas of Australia one can often hear a variety of bird calls ; the melodic call of the Currawong is special . The Bell Bird with its distinct high pitched bell call echoing through the forest is unique to Australia . But then we have various cockatoos with their rowdy screeching calls . The Australian Raven and Magpie also add to the range of bird calls we in Australia are fortunate to hear on a daily basis . There's a TH-cam video where you can listen to these calls .
All the best .
@@shaneb3926 hey Shane we are very lucky to be Australians with our magnificent bird's
@@charmainemiles4089 Yes , we are lucky Charmaine , can't beat the sounds of Australia .
Yeah they’re cool the first few times but believe me waking up at 4am and hearing what sounds like 5 birds laughing hysterically across the street is an interesting... experience.
me too!!!!!
Kinda sounds like how my car starts up in winter. Takes a few tries before the engine starts to run warm.
Then get a better car lol,my 1999 vw polo starts with 0 issues even at negative 15degrees celsius
my buddy played this on his phone at the zoo. Got every kookaburra there raising hell.
I use it to call them outside my bedroom window in Australia
bro really said:🚗🚗🚗😂😂🐒🐒🐒🤣
My three year old is obsessed with kookaburras.. this video is on loop everyday!
We live in Ireland so hopefully someday we will get to see one in real life
My cats' faces when this plays is priceless.😂
0:10 when the beat drops
he is thinking of that joke he told 5 years ago that made the whole world laugh
My gosh, the way he ramps up and then just lets it loose with the sound is just...amazing really. I find myself replaying it over and over again just to enjoy the sound.
I'm obsessed with that beautiful sound.
you’ll hear this every morning as an australian
I hear this every morning and night. They are beautifully bizzare birds.
its like their whole bodys a voice box
What a funny bird! One of the most distinctive voices, and well-known of all birds in the world! R.I.P. to Marion Sinclair of Melbourne, Australia (1896-1988) who wrote the famous children's song, "Kookaburra Sits In The Old Gum Tree" and its laugh, in 1932.
I am in my 50s. Used to sing that song in elementary school. I am just finding out that a kookaburra is a bird.
@@MrBmic I did also. In one of my favorite elementary school songs in the early 1960s. Before that horrible Friday the U.S. has never recovered from a coup by the evil #36. Who then started the ground-air war mass murdering 3 million Vietnamese, and 58,300 Americans for nothing!
I hadn’t thought of that song in years; I learned it in grade school in the 50’s in music class (I’m in the U.S.). Now I’m walking around clearing and tidying singing that song! 🎶
th-cam.com/video/p2VitpGRalw/w-d-xo.html "...gay your life must be!" In the innocent, wonderful era; before the PC-crowd said you can't say or sing those things!"
My mum used to sing that song to me
We all know that one friend that has a freaking contagious laugh 😆❤
Absolutely glorious 💗💗💗
Frickin’ dinosaurs...
This is melody to my ears.. I really love it
I have a kookaburra laugh as my ringtone. I absolutely love the call, and I have a feeling that if I ever hear one in real life I'm gonna cry 😅
i use to work at the oakland zoo ,and getting them going was one of the best parts of my morning!!! we had a few and all of them started in...i dont think the keepers were too happy tho...loud
The local snake enclosure would have been petrified 🤣
I love kookas and magpies
I love these birds, they seem to be so "into" it, like a wolf/dog howling etc. Belting out a tune like a superstar.
The bird made that noise
Really? I was wondering what the hell could.tnag noise be coming from..that me for opening our eyes and ears! You must be Jesus in the flesh
Y'know, 'Kookaburra Laughing' sounds like one of these awesome strange Australian places you just have to see at least once.
Like the woke country
Holy shit I think I love the Kookaburra.
Very time I hear that it makes me smile.
Very time time the all time of every very berry never marry very scary but never time ever time?
They have such personality i wish i could just hug one.
When i first visited australia for the weekend in 2008 i heard strange sounds coming from the trees in surfers, sounded like monkeys which i thought was strange as Australia has no monkeys outside zoos but after asking a local shopkeeper what the sound was was he explained to me the kookaburra which is endemic in surfers. Now each time i visit aussie and hear the sound it comes to heart of an aussie icon. When you Aussies visit New Zealand you will hear at night the sound of "Pwarrporh" - thats the cry of the Morepork endemic to many areas of New Zealand especially around The Wellington Area.
Sounds like someone trying to start a car underwater and somehow got it to run for a few seconds
I love these badass birds!!!!
Thank you Brookfield Zoo , 😊🙏💘🕊️
Standard Aussie, obnoxiously loud and proud 😂
Rightfully so!
This is the perfect sound effect for a hilarious prank!
If you never knew, in SpongeBob they use this birds laugh sped up for the dolphin sound effect
That’s definitely the sound waking me up from my afternoon nap 🤣
He just heard the funniest joke from the keeper
I need one of them to mess with all the barking dogs in the neighborhood
the voice of an angel
Now that's Talent !
0:12 Ah the wonderful sounds of a deep jungle.
Like in the old Tarzan movies? 😄
@@kisharadanndando9063 That's how they do it in the bush!
laughter is contagious
😂 my natural morning alarm lol
I freaking LOVE birds
Best of all they taste like chicken!
Nothing like this bird sound in U.K. Made my day. Thanks for posting ❤
A very funny bird!!!❤
So THATS the noise I would always hear in stock audio for a jungle or something. As a kid I always thought this sounded like a monkey
Yes, and they don't live in jungles either but open forest.
Yes I always wondered why they had them in old Tarzan movies set in Africa.
Such a cute, dainty looking little bird that has such a loud voice. I love animals, but I'm glad they don't live in Florida. Imagine hearing this cackling outside my window first thing in the morning. Man, oh, man. 😅😅
Apparently some do live in Florida.
@@ReiseLukas Wow. I didn't know that. I hope one doesn’t build a nest outside my window. Thanks for the info.
They're fairly large, the wingspan is about two feet.
Just imagine if you are a family of Budgerigars or Koalas, minding your own business, and Kookaburras move in next door. Time to move!
I dunno, a bunch of budgies is pretty bloody loud.
MashaAllah so beautiful ❤️
Absolutely astonishing!😂❤
That is freaking awesome!
Being Scottish and never having visited Australasia I've never seen one irl but they seem to be the hyenas of the bird world. As you can tell, I'm highly educated on wildlife...🤪🤭😋 What a cool little critter 🥰
lol... these guys are over the top... I love Kookaburras!
i always hear kookaburras at night
sing it... 'Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree, merry ol' bird of the bush is he... laugh Kookaburra, laugh Kookaburra... gay your life must be' :) :) :D
lbird Thanks, Barney.

I remember singing this song in grammar school in 1961/62. I tried to find it on TH-cam. Do you know the name of the song?
Thanks for the memories!
Rick, I did the same, either at camp in 1960/61 and in grammar school in your same year. I never forgot those memorable words or the song about a funny bird. It was the best time in the U.S., and we will never see anything as good in the times ahead as it was then as a kid, getting up at 5am to watch the exciting rocket launches an hour later, in the race to the Moon. Kookaburra Sits In The Old Gum Tree" One link is here: th-cam.com/video/9nMjzS66bS4/w-d-xo.html
I heard this in a Doctor Who episode sorry if I'm ruining nostalgia or anything :')
This is the most Australian sound aside from saying ‘mate.’
Growing up in aus, I always love listening to our native birds sing, Magpies and Kookaburras are the best. 😌
So u love the woke country
Outstanding! Respect to thad kookaburra.
Awww I love the kooka. 💚💛🌸
I hear this every morning at about 5am. Suits me up the wall .
I’m Australian and at 7:00am I hear kookaburras every morning I even changed my password on my laptop kookaburra
beautiful
Man, they really love their motorcycles.
Love the kookaburra!🤗💖
Awesome soundtrack
Perfect alarm clock down in Australia.
What a majestic creature
honestly after being here so long as an american I almost forget how cool how the birds are here including these, hear them all the time
God I love waking up to the sound of this gorgeous creature’s rendition of being happy and alive!❤
That is the COOLEST sound!
birb: "THIS IS MY TURF PISS OFF"
Humans: "hehe that bird is laughing"
Just imagine that thought our ancestors
Cute. They're like a ridiculously loud canary rolling/chopping/warbling crow or raven.
When he said "ha ha ha ha" I felt that.
"Hoo hoo hoo ha ha ha" 💀💀💀💀
I remembered as a kid the tune of Radio Australia's foreign language broadcasts every morning on the short wave .
Australia has the coolest animals.
That's a bada$$ bird!!!
A masterfully executed laugh.
He is the literal sound of the jungle
Wish my laugh could be this fucking hilarious 🤣
Worst bird to wake up to in the morning with a hangover
Looooving that sound!
So soothing..
😊
Loved my trip to Australia. Didn't love having these as my alarm clock every morning.
Nobody:
Kakyoin seeing 2 identical rocks:
We all feel like this sometimes.
Thank you so much for this Brookfield zoo. I come from Australia but I’m on vacation rn and that sound reminds me of home, so thank you.
These wonderful birds often wake me with their morning chorus, settled in the gum trees along our road.
Not much to laugh about, stuck in a gloomy cage.
Every maniac in a horror movie
I love kookaburras
So that's where that infamous jungle cry I tend to here in shows and movies comes from
That's it, and they don't live in jungles either.
That is the perfect example, this kookaburra completely nailed it.
Absolutely beautiful!!!
They're so cute XD
Ask my friend from Australia once said to me: "Yeah you think these are cool, but wait until they start waking you up at 5AM.
