      Range depends on each bike model and a number of factors including the weight of the rider, added gear, terrain, tire pressure, temperature, wind speed, etc. The average range on a fully charged battery is between 20 and 50 miles. so probabaly 20 miles if you go fast and 50 miles if you go 20mph everywhere.

    For these reviews, I’d like to see charging covered in more detail. Specifically charge management. Can I set the charge rate and vary the state of charge? Everyone seems focused on charging as fast as possible,. This is a great feature, but I’d prefer to sometimes set a very low rate if I have the time for safety and limiting cell heating. Also, I like to limit the state of charge of many of my EV things when they’re not in use and only bring them up right before I use them, again to extend battery life. From what I’ve learned, these are best practices but I haven’t seen any manufactures implement much in the way of smart and controllable charge management.

      I think this doesn't come with adjustable charger because they are pretty expensive like over 200 dollars for 20A adjustable but you could charge with them if you want adjustable charging.

    lol 30 miles is NOT enough for daily tasks. My Electric Unicycle is literally about the size of that rear storage box and has a range of 125 miles. Top speed of 50 mph.
    I can easily use up most of the range if I need to run a few errands around the city. That scooter is like just enough to make a quick trip and back.
    And I get that it can be enough for your commute but there goes all the freedom.
    You gotta stick to your set trip and if you ride outside of those plans you run out of battery. Kinda like riding the bus.

    NO MORE FREE SHIPPING! And this is a really big deal because it changes the economics.
    I would really like to have something that is more of a "suburban" scooter. Something that could do about 50-55mph without killing the battery. And would go about 40-50 miles. This is a drive that a lot of people in a lot of places in the USA have to drive on a daily basis. I'm not the only one. I'd also prefer something with bigger wheels, as roads in the US are notoriously bad.

    Had a Lepton a decade ago and it was very capable with a top speed of 28mph. If anyone is in the market the new 50ah form factor lipo batteries would fit in and be a cheap alternative to something like this. (Battery hookup)$250 dollars for four..if you asked nice they might give you 4 with the same manufacturer . 32 ah and voltage level...or they might charge more for the service. My Lepton would take me up any hill in San Francisco....unlike Florida which is flat forever. ..for me though I can still ride my trike up any hill in San Francisco but I am building a recumbent e-bike....

    Looks like CSC is just reworking all their c2001 Japan 50cc to 250cc scooter knockoff frames with electric drivetrain.
    I do like their body shapes much better than a motor added tall bicycle. Car drivers see a small motorcycle and react correctly to the speed and expected closing distances. Plus they have the proven city utility of a moped with storage and low CG.
    How do they rate after a few months in use and exposed to weather?
    The small cc motor, poor QC, loose head bolts and cheap non consistent carburator on the old CSC import scooters were their failing. Seems likely they could do better with a simple electric appliance motor.

      My 29er conversion was $480 (not including my existing 5+ year old donor mountain bike). For this price, I got everything needed for a 30+ mph e-bike with 30+ miles range (both very conservative figures), including a geared hub motor, charger, controller, self-built 48V Li-ion battery, battery enclosure, brake cut-offs, etc.). While I opted for a 1500W geared rear hub motor for my needs, a 250W/350W front hub motor is plenty powerful for on-street/bike path riding. It'd also be less expensive.

It will be just right and that’s what I do and I do it and that will be from England and nice person and you’ve been truthful and honest and I don’t know when anything and I tried to let your bright as well and I did the competitions and I know when anything I got bridge and I do wear my hats by car when bomb off bike and I go with workers riding and he lets be back for but the bit then I take it back to him and ask I’ve tried number one, speed and number two speed and I took it nice and slow and it was perfect that was the right speed for me and and they said have a try electric bike a bit speed does a tiny bit to get a bit more speed and try different speed to try the next speed up and I’m doing it bit by bit and he told me to take it take it slow and that’s what I do and I said might be easier for me to suck around

    Mike, to be frank, isn't electric (especially electric cars, scooters, motorcycles, not bicycles) flawed? In the sense that batteries die pretty soon and in general, when the time comes to change it, it costs a lot of money, so comparing to diesel or gas cars/scooters/motorcycles, they are more expensive (in terms of initial price one pays for it, too)?
    I thought about this yesterday, say a car that's on diesel or gas or diesel/gas - it's probably more reliable and costs less than an electric one (again, especially it costs a lot itself, but then also to replace the battery once it's dead), at least still today, no?
    Do you have a video or would you be interested to make one on this topic, on what are advantages and what are the disadvantages of fuel cars vs electric, and how exactly they compare in terms of how much money one really needs to spend on each type?
    I thought I'd share this question/suggestion with you.
    Thank you for your work, for your so useful videos on electric bicycles.

    • @EbikeSchool
      @EbikeSchool  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes the cost argument isn't the strongest case for EVs.... yet. They are coming closer to price parity with fossil fuel alternatives and they are constantly moving in the right direction. Batteries are getting cheaper and lasting longer, while total electric vehicle prices are trending downwards. So while the major benefits of EVs are more about performance/environmental/convenience, etc., soon cost will likely be one of the advantages too.

    • @MaximC
      @MaximC 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I see, thank you for the response. I need research on why EVs would be better in terms of performance and convenience, I can't think of why they would be.

      Yeah, this is the reason why I won't buy EVs yet. I mean if it's a bicycle and you can do your own battery, it's probably worth it, but for cars and motorcycles, I don't think you can DIY a battery for them.
      Who knows, maybe it will be even more than 5 years.

    Just started my research. It appears that e-bicycles dont have generators- kind of like this scooter, you are done when battery goes dead. An e-bicycle can still be manually pedaled but battery doesnt charge to help when needed? I thought that ebicycles only drain battery when rider pushes button for assistance? So why do they list distances fr o bicycles like they do for an electric scooter? Do alternators on e-bikes exist? Or is the technology close to have alternators on bicycles so that it would be possible to ride across county and the battery would charge when not being asked to assist?

    U are SO CONFUSED ! That IS NOT a Moped ! There is a difference AND it’s IMPORTANT ! NO pedals ,NOT a Moped. It does make a difference with the DMV & Policemen .... disappointed that U are not doing your homework if branching out to other vehicles besides electric bikes. If U L👀K into Puch,Tomos,Manet Korado ,etc. Those are Mopeds.... 70’s & 80’s

    • @EbikeSchool
      @EbikeSchool  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks but this is a moped in most states. The DMV in each state has a definition for vehicles classes and these days moped often don’t need pedals. It’s annoying for old timers, but words and their meanings change over time. “What’s up?” doesn’t actually inquire about elevated things.

    Okay so what scooter is right for some who commutes rurally about 75-100 miles a day? Country roads are about 45-55 mph, and I don’t know of any electric that can do that pace AND range short of the $10g Zero base model. Help! Love the channels btw. Thank you and Keep up the good work👍🏼

      Yes I have way too many, but I often give some to family members once I've played with them long enough. I've sold some and I've donated others to needy folks.
