I am a career civil servant and have worked hard to keep my country safe from foreign threats. I believed in my mission strongly enough to work through the trump presidency, but I can’t do it a second time. All this talk of federal employees needing to take loyalty oaths specifically to trump makes me ill. I took an oath when I signed on to uphold the laws of the land and to the Constitution - not to a single person. That’s anathema for how our government is supposed to work. I don’t know why people cannot see the massive damage trump has done to our country.
