The big difference with the old one is the reception, you can get good quality weak signals in SW, and the AM ATT helps a lot when you ATS SW reducing the sensitivity, and do not get just strong noisy stations...the SYNC function works a little better than others (Beside Sony), for some stations helps, other don't. A big improvement in this new one is the calibration, you can calibrate the frequency if you are off...good luck with your testing !!!
