It would take way too long to replay the games and record each and every desk slam myself, so I had to "yoink" footage from walkthroughs, and I also used custom objection.lol characters from the official objection.lol discord. The sources are written underneath this paragraph.

The best part is the games still use that sound for all the games even after all of this time. Even in the Layton crossover. This sound has become a staple of the franchise and should never be removed
which makes it all the more jarring when the desk slam is accompanied by a different sound, like Apollo's head slam or Ryu's weak slap

as a defense attorney, i can confirm that everyone slams the tables 90% of the trial and we all wear flashy clothing
considering ancient times hardly surprising. hell most romans got their carreers started in courts, guys like cicero are a prime example,this was basically their public stage and Showbusiness and charisma was as important as evidence.

Honestly, I’m surprised anyone can break these desks. With the literal generations of lawyers violently smashing them in every other case, you would expect people to make them out of steel painted to look like wood and then lacquer them with graphene at this point.

Random animation facts ramble:
As an animator, I'm distracted by the woman's desk slams starting at 1:21. Her hand and arm move REALLY FAST AND STRONG, but the bright movement lines make the movement seem slower and softer. There's this animation concept of "slow in / slow out," as in movements often move faster in the middle than at the start and end, but you can get different effects based on HOW MUCH slow in or out there is, or whether the movement starts or ends faster.
ANYWAY, assuming all that makes sense, the lines following her hand fade away slowly. To make a character seem as if they're moving more elegantly, often you want a lot of slow settling at the end of a motion. For some reason, those slash marks were given an elegant fade. But the intention behind including those slash marks, especially since she's wearing a dangerous-looking clawed glove, seems to be "Oh no, look, she's slashing quickly." There should be a LOT less fade out time.

Tbf, the crossover *was* AA’s first time being in 3D, crossover in court wise. 3D definitely got better, especially once they got to DGS.
As an I animator myself I believe that the intention of the claw marks fading out slowly wasn't to give an impression that its elegant.
It wasnt here for it to look fast either, its to make us focus on the fact that theses are claws and that they can actually cut.
Its basically highlighting it. Thats something an animator would do if they have little time to convey an information.
Sometimes they would even change an object's size to be far bigger when in motion and then go back to a small size when static.
Its a weird sacrifice they are making for clarity>accuracy.

I'll still stand by what I said; fewer frames would make the movement stronger, and the color contrast and large shapes of the slashes already makes the claws a clear focus. Typically if you want an audience to notice something, you should have it onscreen for at least 8 frames (when working with 24 fps; so, at least a third of a second. It'd be 10 frames if working wit 30 fps, for instance). This animation lasts for 12 or 13 frames, depending on if you count the first frame where the slash marks are only just starting and are barely visible. So, it passed the eight frames needed and probably would have been better if it was only 8 or 10 frames, since I don't know if this is 24 or 30 fps.
But the more important part, I think, is still the "fade out" time; if the animator wanted to keep the whole 12-13 frames, possibly extra frames for the marks could have been used at the start of the movement instead of the end.
(And keep in mind all this discussion is just me having fun! I don't want anyone thinking I'm upset or anything. I enjoy analyzing animation.)

Also for that one i think im gonna assume its 30 since the standard framerate for 3d animation is 30-60 🤔 although alot of theses have a little charming intentional ??choppiness??
Adding it at the start of the movement would be a bit counterproductive since its a slow in starting from where her hand is high up,,, a smear like that should be reserved for fast motions
I think the ideal way to convey both would be to make the table and the screen shake like most of the characters

Also i dont know if its also fault of that slash animation fading so slow, but i feel like the sound effect of the slam doesnt sounds at the correct time. It definetely is correct with the motion of the hand hitting the desk, but still it sounds weird. Again, its more noticeable with the one where she is facing front.
