  • Not a bad little rumble from the 800cc stock pipe. I removed the baffles with the "rod inside the exhaust to break the baffle" trick.
This 2010 M50 was very quiet in stock trim, so this was definitely a mod I had no issues with trying. I think it sounds pretty good. :)

Did you happen to run into any problems with power after you pulled the baffles? I have a 2013 M50 and am thinking about pulling them myself but I am worried about performance.

Hi Matt, sorry I missed your comment here. Um, no no 'real' power change, maybe a tiny bit of top end....but only tiny.

How did it go with the sensor? I am about to do this to my 2014 M50, and dont want any issues.

@@zuble1 nothing new or fixed yet. Mechanic thinks I need to install some type of a power commander..

Did you remove just the one baffle out of each pipe or two?

The broomstick in the pipe trick. So I think 1.

FI light came up after you debaffle it?

  • @billclark1333

I had my baffles punched out at my local bike shop, before I got home the red idiot light came on and I got an FI code. It comes on every time I ride, the only thing I notice is it runs a little rough and idles rough as well, once the light comes on. Some days when its colder it takes longer to come on, but it still comes on if I ride long enough. Once I turn the bike off it apparently resets and comes on again once the engine warms up. My question is how do I fix this issue, without it costing me a fortune? I love the new sound but the red light and rough idle is becoming more and more irritating.

Not my forte, but I’d say check the sensor at the back of the exhaust. Has it been accidentally unplugged?

You have to install a power commander and have it tuned you're probably running super rich.
