It wasn't the sort of role that you'd ever think of seeing Michelle Pfeiffer take - but damn, she made it her own. She did all the whip work herself, learning how to use it properly. And then there's the small matter of her costume... One word - Wow. I had been a fan of Julie Newmar's iteration of the character, who was sexy before I was old enough to properly get what that meant. Pfeiffer took that to a whole new level. If it had not been for her, I doubt we would have seen comic book Catwoman artwork by people like Adam Hughes, or J. Scott Campbell.
For big screen Catwoman, it’s Michelle Pfieffer. She was well written and flawlessly acted. For TV Catwoman, it’s a tie between Julie Newmar and Eartha Kitt.

I was a fan of hers before this movie, but a bigger fan after!
This was probably one of the last comic book movies I have seen, they got too serious after that. This movie still had some of the over-the-top ridiculousity of the 60's Batman t.v. series.
While Michelle Pfeiffer maybe the best on-screen Catwoman, my all-time favorite is Eartha Kitt.
She was the best of them all!

I've enjoyed some of the animated ones. Temporarily forget the name of a recent one.. Want to say Hush.. Where she and Bruce really tried to have a relationship.
How about GaGa as Harley Quinn in the new Joker movie coming out in fall? I think she shows some promise in this role.
Fans can never ignore a Catwoman, not when cats are very cute, and she’s a great Batman girlfriend/occasional enemy.

No one come's close to Michelle's Catwoman. The new Catwomen not embracing the feline approach is painful to watch. Catwoman shouls be anthropomorphic and sexy, skilled and unhinged at the same time. Not fitting in to the regular world. Narcissist yet vulnerable. Selfish but still holding on to a little empathy for certain individuals that she can relate to. Brain damaged and split personality is a must. That way the audience can empathise with character and justify her "wrong" doings.
I know Im gonna get hate for this, but I don’t think Catwoman should lean fully into the cat theme, just like Batman doesn’t fully lean into the Bat theme. For example when she’s licking her arm and putting it on her head like a cat, its too much. Dont get me wrong, it makes her UNFORGETTABLE. And she was the most dedicated if not “The Best”
But Batman doesn’t sleep upside down like a bat. And Catwoman is Bat’s inverse.
So if Michelle is the extreme of Cat theme, I think Zoe Kravitz is on the opposite (and boring).
But I do love Anne Hathaway’s ears. Because they’re functional and make sense.
Eartha Kitt ???
They keep dropping the ball! Michael Keaton, Tim Burton, and Michelle Pfeiffer are still ranked as the best of their respective roles in the Batman universe. Take a hint, David Zaslav and James Gunn!!! Dang it!.....they waste so much potential in search of the next new thing....UGH!

Yeah, she could only have it on for like an hour before it became hard to breath. Something like that
All the old costumes, and even some modern ones, were and are basically inhumane torture devices.

Also OBVIOUSLY the more modern cat-women are embarrassed by the motif, thanks to that Halle Berry abomination. The film-makers are literally terrified that if they give her just a teensy more cat influence they'll end up with a Halle Berry 2.0 so they do as little as they think they can get away with.

Let’s face it they will never top Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman. It cannot and will not be done. BATMAN RETURNS is one of the most underrated movies of all time in my opinion of superheroes. Batman returns in my estimation was almost par with the original maybe, just as good. They should have never fired Tim Burton and let him go. That was a mistake for Warner brothers. They should have at least gave him his damn trilogy.
