You don't have to be the best at everything, Joseph. You are fabulous at photography and living off the land. It inspires my to try despite my imperfections.
The key to installing vinyl is to wet the window, place the vinyl on the window then use your scraper to press out the bubbles. The water allows you time to adjust the vinyl and get that smooth surface.
My preference would be to go with a darker tint if you want more privacy, not the white. Put white over the windows inside if the tint is not enuf. The fodd looked delicious. As always i loved the diving, something ill never see first hand. Ty for sharing.
I would use dark grey or black vinyl, the white makes your nice car look cheap plus the 🌞 will yellow it in no time. Get it professionally done if you do but I would say leave it blank if it’s not absolutely needed. As for the hole in your rear window, there are caps that are made exactly for that reason. ❤Thank you so much for taking us under water, that was absolutely brilliant. Made me soooo happy. Congratulations on your catches 🐟
Hey Joseph, that was a fun video. The dive was amazing. The water is so clear and all the ocean life. Thanks for sharing. You always make my day. Be safe out there.🇺🇸♥️👍🙏🐟🐠🪼🦀🦞🚐🏔️🇨🇦
Thanks Joseph,Love the underwater stuff.so beautiful. I bet that cod you got was so mighty fine tasting fish. So glad you posted, been missing you!!!! cheers
For the window hole, if you wanted something more permanent. Measure it. Then look up VW mk5 gti window wiper delete , I did that on my car and they sell these really nice aluminum cnc screw plugs that cover/seal the hole. Should be around the same size and work.
That’s so awesome that you share your fish with others❤❤❤❤❤I wish you all the best for finding a solution to covering your windows ❤❤love thanks so much for sharing ❤❤❤
Leave the window blank. No wrap. Love the huge fish in a bag!! Awesome catch! Thanks for taking us along and showing us the underwater beauty of yet another one of our gorgeous Provinces!! Cheers from Ontario 🫶p.s love that you're growing your hair again!
You have to spray the window with water and couple drops of dawn, this way you can move it around while pushing the bubbles out. Not hard just missed a step 🏆Try it again👌
What a beautiful Lingcod you harvested!! Also you can't be good at everything, so if you really want that vinyl over the windows, at this point I'd just hire someone and watch how they do it, so you may learn a technique or two. ✌🏼
Thanks, Joseph. You remind me I have some window film waiting to be tried on my van! It's the pin-prick stuff, making it harder to see in, easier to see out, not as necessary for covers. The spear fishing footage was EPIC indeed! I like your experiment with Onion Rings - looks tasty enough to try myself.
Thanks for sharing Joseph. I've been away and very far behind with video watching. It's good to see you doing the things you love. Thank you for bringing us along.
What about using black in stead of white on the windows, the white looked kinda funky not to sound rude or mean. Love you and your videos ❤ have a blessed day and God bless you always 🥰☺️🥰☺️🥰☺️🙏
IMO, leave it the way it was. Looks way better without the vinyl. Also the vinyl will draw more attention to your van. Great fishing and free diving location. We're liking the mix of vanlife snd free diving.
Think the vinyl is a great idea, and if you get it done professionally, they should be able to match the vans factory color. It would definitely cut down on heat in the van. Another plus is you wouldn't have to mess with putting the foam blocks up on the rear windows depending on weather conditions
Thank you Joseph. The window procedure, some here seem to think it's all for looks, misunderstanding its purpose. But us van dwellers totally get why you want it. If your friend can install it, if it was me, I would step back and let her. It is most definitely an art. Not like wallpaper! 😊 Best of luck Joseph. Beautiful underwater filming once more with fantastic yummy results. Well done you 😊 👨🍳 🍽 Take care there 💜 🙋♀️🚐 🌏
Hi Joseph, get a spray water bottle and a little squeegie.....get the window wet and then apply the film and then squeeqie the excess water. That's the pro tip :) Good luck!!!
Hi Joseph 🙂; Loved the diving session! Awesome catch ! It looks like a really fun day ! Except for the vinyl 🙂; I'd probably hire someone to apply it if possible 😉;The meal looked delicious 😋; Thank You For Sharing your adventure! Great Video 🤗👍; ❤️🫂; SEE You Soon 🙂 Safe Travels!
Love you joseph.... don't feel bad about the window upgrade not working.... first of all, nobody can hit a home run every time, and also that kind of stuff is difficult to apply until you've had some practice at it. Contact paper is hard to deal with, too. I think it might help if you pull the paper backing off a little at a time as you smooth it out over your surface. Safe and happy travels, sweetness!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
The underwater footage was beautiful ❣️😊 The window covering definitely has a learning curve. I agree with another's advice on here, to use water. I also used a squeegee. At least all the coverings I've put on suggest doing it that way. Good luck.🤞
I do it with a soapy water mixture, very light soap, and low heat gun. I got some wrap around my mom's mirrors just fine. It peeled on the hood because of snow and being a cheap wrap. I'm planning on doing perforated vinyl on the inside of my windows of my truck cap. Outside leaves dirt in the holes. Much easier than tint to me.
You can also get the perforated vinyl. Still lets you see out but no one can see in. Nice attempt. I like it. I would get someone to install for you. Take care.
Joseph...here is what I do with my Toyota Sienna. I am using translucent, definitely not opaque, white coroplast panels cut to size which snap into place inside the van over the rear and side windows. Also known as election sign material or "plastic cardboard". These let lots of light into the van but are truly private. I can simply stack them together and slide the 1/4 thin panels into some crevice in the van when not in use. You might try this. Might look a bit ghetto, but a very good solution I am happy with. Easy to snap in and out as required for driving visibility, but definitely legal used this way to obscure van contents completely, yet let a great deal of light into the van..Chris in Victoria. Could also use black ones I suppose, but I like the cheerier white.
Personally, I would not use vinyl on the windows. Makes the car look cheap. I would tint them as dark as possible. If you want to use vinyl I’d use black not white. The white on a white car is just ugly.
Thank you for sharing! Beautiful sea adventures with nice friends ! Show us viewers you don’t succeed in all handy work you do. You’re an excellent cook 👨🍳 . Until next time take care 🍀🐟🦀
There is a type of window vinyl that has tiny holes in it. Allows you to see out, but no one can see in. May not be suitable at night, but if you put up your inside window covers, it would work! Glad your onion rings turned out good!
I think BLACK PERFORATED VINYLS would look better. That is what I want to put on mine. It is ONE WAY film so you can see out but, ppl can't see in (except at night with lights on, of course)
I've seen window tinting jobs done, and some people make it look easy. Your outcome is most likely what mine would turn out like. 🤣. I think you should have it done in black, though.
I spray painted my back windows matt black, lol, ... I'm so disgusted with my lemon of a van home anyway, so I went total grunge 😄 I sprayed 4 coats of rattle can ... then I was smacking the paint with a handful of leaves to add that additional, overly frustrated psychotic touch 😆😆😁 ... yep ... it looks lovely 😆👍
Be nice to get a color matched white with your paint. Black would look more stealth, but not reflect the heat as you are trying to accomplish. Maybe look into static sheets that stick to the glass. On and off as needed is a bonus. Have to check/try if you can drive with them on but I think you can as they are flat to the glass and haven't got a lifted edge. White in the summer for reflecting heat, black in the winter for solar gain to add heat.
Try using Plasti-Dip. It's a plastic spray paint. The key to a professional finish is a lot of light coats. You'd need something to cover the wiper hole, however.
I have seen others do this before, but using water on the glass helps it work better and as the water underneath is pushed away, the adhesive sticks perfectly. I too am a disaster at doing this kind of work 😅 By the way, you look good with your slightly grown hair and beard
I love that idea and it's something I've been thinking about. I've just had some much on the go lately that It's been hard for me to carve out the time for something like this and I really want to film my van tour too. I'll tell you what. I'll start a project folder for it and start taking notes on all the the things I think would be valuable on the topic. Thank you!
I Love that you’ve not been shaving ur head. I was secretly wishing that for you… because like… why bother spending so much energy masking your natural look? I love that it’s not a priority for you,… for the now anyway ❤👍 🙌. Not just for you,… but I think for everyone, it’s important to love ourselves as we are, aging and all ❤ ❤❤.
No wrap!!!!.....getting the creep factor.
Looks way cooler plain.
Nice attempt.
Thanks for another great video Joseph. Diving was excellent. I never turn down fresh caught fish!!! ✌☮
Great video as always Joseph! I love the underwater dives. Very relaxing day. ❤
You don't have to be the best at everything, Joseph. You are fabulous at photography and living off the land. It inspires my to try despite my imperfections.
Hello from New Westminster BC … so Great to See You Joseph …
The key to installing vinyl is to wet the window, place the vinyl on the window then use your scraper to press out the bubbles. The water allows you time to adjust the vinyl and get that smooth surface.
Add a drop of dish soap to the bottle.
And clean glass. The Stoner glass cleaner isn't good, from me experience. Soap and water, then finish with an alcohol final wipe.
My preference would be to go with a darker tint if you want more privacy, not the white. Put white over the windows inside if the tint is not enuf. The fodd looked delicious. As always i loved the diving, something ill never see first hand. Ty for sharing.
Joseph your videos are top notch 👍Thk u for sharing🙏, hugs 🤗

Hi thank you Joseph nice video.
What great fish catches i got so excited seeing that huge school! Thanks for also sharing your meal!

Thanks for a great video.

I think leave back window black. Delicious looking food! Thank you, Joseph for taking us along! Take care and stay safe❤️🙏🏼👍🏼👍🏼✌🏼
good attempt man ! now im thinking my rear van windows need those lol
Great filmmaking, thanks for taking us along.
That’s so awesome that you share your fish with others❤❤❤❤❤I wish you all the best for finding a solution to covering your windows ❤❤love thanks so much for sharing ❤❤❤
Great video Joseph. Thanks for sharing.
Hey Joseph..thanks for sharing the beautiful fish and other sea creatures...
Always a better day when Joseph drops a video. Keep up the great content bro
Thanks brother, I really appreciate that.

I find it looks a little strange, I'm not sure I'd be able to do any better.
I loved the diving and also enjoyed all the ocean's natural beauty.

Hi Joseph. Loved the diving and fishing segments. Great video. Thanks for sharing!
OMG.. that looks delicious 😋
Leave well enough alone
the van is nice with out
the vinyl.

Wow that dive!! Incredible! And I think you'll find the curve of the windows makes the job a whole lot harder. Awesome video as usual
What an amazing spot - thanks Joseph! 🥰

Love the ocean photography, awesome fish dinner, no to white windows.
❤black vinyl

Watch someone wrap a bumper, and you'll feel better about a window.

That's a smart idea using the vac-seal bag cut long for the fish. Garbage bags have not so nice chemicals and mold release agents on/in them.
You can also get the perforated vinyl. Still lets you see out but no one can see in. Nice attempt. I like it. I would get someone to install for you. Take care.

Refined fast food....is an oxymoron. Your food looks great.

😢leave it
I would leave it with windows alone
Such incredible underwater footage.
I think you gotta use soapy water ? Like tint then squeegee out the water
I used soapy water when I was in the sign buissness
Cheers and thanks
I like the black windows personally but. It’s your home bro… you do you
Put the vinyl on and should help some with keeping the heat out. Tip is water or peeling off the backing slow and not all at once.
Thank you for identifying everything on your dives. In the states, we watch out for covered window vehicles because of human trafficking. Scary.
Hi Joseph, well I think you should let your friend help you. I wonder if it will do well in the winter? I enjoyed the footage, great adventure.
Do whatcha gonna do. I say leave it the way it was. Enjoy them eats. I just that you catch fresh fish. Try a ceviche sometime. 💗✨
Spray fluid to help as you go then the heat gun will make it flex …
I wrap cars for a living your good this is how you learn

It's not you, Joseph! I've tried wallpaper and it is extremely hard to do. It stretches, etc, and is very, very difficult!
No wrap. It looks odd with that white wrap partly around your van. If you plan on doing it make both sides of the van the same.
Try using Plasti-Dip. It's a plastic spray paint. The key to a professional finish is a lot of light coats. You'd need something to cover the wiper hole, however.
Do you know how that stuff does in the heat?

LoL enjoying life and stress free is always good. Rushing anything is not good for the soul or the job!
Soapy water dude
Thanks
If it was pink with some rainbows on it then yes, but plain white no.
Windows => black 😊 Maybe use a black vinyl, instead of white.
Either no wrap or black. Peace & Love
It would look cool wrapped pay someone to do it. Shouldn't be too expensive

First one.. Hey Joseph
Looks better without! The material and the color is just a bit off, sadly. Nice catch!
Heat it but blacked out looks better
use the wet way
