    been binging your channel, love your breakdowns truly.
    Rip to the idea of getting a c4rbn now lol

      We need to find a C4rbn replacement. Must be small and offer something extra like saturation or wavefolding, any recommendations from our eccentric community?

      @@markbooth closest thing I’ve found is viol ruina by noise engineering or Steve’s ms-22 by threetom. Ms-22 seems intriguing

      personally didn’t love the sound of C4RBN compared to other VCFs.
      Joranalogue fold6 or instruo athru + 2hp MMF or doepfer A-121-3 would be a nice combo, 6-8HP. MS22 is rad, but super colored to do that ‘MS20’ thing, which is, of course, why you get it.
      Saturation, check out the Instruo TanH or feedback modular channel strips, in particular the CR or the BX. The latter also have EQ :). Didn’t jive with the ruina

    That detune on the Chainsaw was perfect! That Sinfonion and Chainsaw are a perfect match. And of course, the A-111-6 is beast that should be in every case. Another great track - thanks for sharing!

      @markbooth  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, I don’t normally have it that high but it was up to 12 o’clock 50% and sounded better in the mix this time I think. Are there any chainsaw alternatives out there? Is the Instruo Saich one possibly? And I agree, the A-111-6 is an amazing subtractive voice for the price. It’s my first Doepfer module and I really like it.

      @@markbooth yeah the Chainsaw is pretty finnicky. I have found its sweet spot changes depending on drive, octave, what filter and how much resonance I'm using. I think it may just be a result of pushing that swarm of 21 OSCs through one filter. I almost sold mine but now it is one of my favorite OSCs. From what I know the Chainsaw is pretty unique in having 21 stacked OSCs but the Knobula Poly Cinematic (8), Synthesis Technology E340 (16) and the Klavis Twin Waves (5) are others I am aware of.

      @markbooth  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sixdonuts I was the same and considered selling mine as it needs a wide ranging supporting cast of gear. I’ve now started to notice how increasing drive and reasonable e through the SSF Stereo Di-Pole filter really alters the sound. It’s an expensive module but I guess OSCs cost money and 22 of them is no small number!

      @sixdonuts ปีที่แล้ว

      @@markbooth Yeah, I specifically bought mine and a System 80 860 to recreate a Jupiter supersaw and was initially really disappointed but after LOTS of tinkering with the Chainsaw and filter found the right settings and it sounds amazing! I actually now really enjoy the square wave a lot which is a whole different world to explore lol

      @markbooth  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sixdonuts it might be cheaper to buy a boutique unit, but there is just something inherently satisfying about making a CV connection that midi just doesn’t satisfy! I’ve not dared to use it much for square waves yet and must try.

    Nicely thought out, implemented, don’t know how you figure it all out but it works so well, a balence of chosen modules working in Tandems

      Thanks, it’s fun! And that’s a very good question as I’ve not considered that. I don’t think it has a record mode but does have a sequencer to create songs with. That’s next on my list to check out

      The Harmonaig looks great but when I factored in that plus probably wanting a second quantiser and arp, I thoughts why not just go all in on the beast. Will let you know how I get on.

    Mark a small question , JAVELIN is a module to always have at hand?

    • @markbooth
      @markbooth  ปีที่แล้ว

      Javelin is expensive as a single envelope but it’s so performative when you want right out of the box. It has a build in VCA, accent, spare envelope out, and the release and envelope outs can be played with the short, mid, and long settings of the buttons

    • @lgproductionsintechno
      @lgproductionsintechno ปีที่แล้ว

      @@markbooth what is the best envelope generator in your experience?

    • @markbooth
      @markbooth  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@lgproductionsintechno they are all expensive so finding something you’re happy with is not easy. I want an Intellijel Quadrax but then a Befaco Percall has built in VCAs for less money. I have 2 Javelins, 2 Sinc Bucinas (LPGs), and a Maths (which I rarely use as most of my voices have them built in. Read into that what you will
