In den meisten Videos sprechen die Leute nur darüber, welche Languages, Programme etc. sie verwenden, aber keiner zeigt so wirklich wie der Alltag aussieht. Mit wem arbeite ich zusammen? Wer gibt Vor- und Angaben? Wie schwierig (oder leicht) ist es mit wenig Anweisung/viel Freiheit zu coden? Woran würde ich einen "guten" Coder erkennen, woran einen "schlechten"? Es wird oft von "Problem solving" gesprochen - um was für Probleme geht es da? I know, ziemlich viele Fragen, aber vllt. hast du ja die Zeit und Lust mir ein paar insights zu dem Thema zu geben, damit ich eine etwas genauere Vorstellung davon habe wie ein Arbeitsalltag als Coder aussehen könnte. würde mich auf jeden Fall sehr freuen!!
Hi! Zum Alltag als Frontend Developer kann ich dir leider nicht viel sagen, da ich nicht darin arbeite - aber ich kann ein paar Vermutungen aufstellen aus meinen Erfahrungen im Ingenieursbereich. Ich würde denken, dass es sehr davon abhängt, in welchem Rahmen du arbeitest. Du kannst ja in einem grossen Unternehmen angestellt sein, wo es vermutlich starke Vorgaben gibt und die Aufgaben auch wahrscheinlich in Designer und Developer unterteilt sind - das heisst, die Designer entwerfen wie die Website aussehen soll und du setzt das in Code um. Du kannst dich auf der anderen Seite auch selbstständig machen und komplette Projekte anbieten inklusive Design und Coding und dann hängt es davon ab, was für Kunden du hast, wie streng die Vorgaben sind - also z.B. wenn du Kleinunternehmer anvisierst, haben die vermutlich wenig Ahnung von der Webseitenerstellung und sind froh, wenn du ihnen alles abnimmst; wenn du etwas grössere Unternehmen mit eigener Marketingabteilung anvisierts, haben sie wahrscheinlich genauere Vorstellungen. Ich habe die Workshops hauptsächlich gemacht, um meine eigene Website zu erstellen und um wieder ins Programmieren reinzukommen. Ich hatte vor den Workshops ein bisschen Erfahrung im Coding durch mein Studium (ich habe Maschinenbau studiert), aber das war schon mehrere Jahre her und ich kannte HTML, CSS und Javascript alle noch nicht. Ich fand, dass die Grundlagen sehr gut erklärt wurden und kein Hintergrundwissen nötig war. Ich kann dir noch empfehlen, auf TH-cam nach Videos wie "Day in the Life of a Frontend Developer" zu suchen. Die sollten dir hoffentlich noch bessere Eindrücke vermitteln können :)
I am doing the free workshop tomorrow to decide if I think I have the chutzpah to even do this. I never finished college. Right now I’m on the cusp of turning 40 and I have a myriad of health issues that make working a traditional job more difficult. I’m wondering if it’s possible to get a job as a developer and sustain yourself.
Good luck with the workshop! I don't have experience working as a developer myself but I know some people doing this successfully. It just depends on if you actually enjoy doing it and can get the work done. You could always try with some more "easy" projects like building a simple website for someone to test the waters and then see if you like it and want to build out your skills to actually work as a developer.
Yes I would recommend taking the basic course first because you get so many helpful resources and knowledge to build on from it :) I would imagine it would be a bit difficult to fill in the gaps without that foundation
@@theannareich I thought that the max package includes everything from the beginning which will take you from a complete beginner to super knowledgeable? So wouldn't it be fine to purchase the max package if you have zero experience but know for sure that this is what you want to do as a career?

Oh really! I guess it totally depends on the country and industry which professions are most in demand at the moment so it can be an advantage if you're flexible to pivot. However, I find it hard to believe that you couldn't find any work related to Mechanical Engineering since that's a very broad field. May I ask what country you were searching in and what professions & industries you considered?

I'm in Mechanical engineering I just recently got my Master but I couldn't find any work related to Mechanical Engineering it good to move to coding?
