This is going to be the biggest event that has ever Befallen The X-Men. Im Soooooo Pumped!!!! I cant wait to see how this battle take place!!!! Great Job Dope Spill!!!
In Jonathan Hickman we trust. Honestly, his run on Fantastic Four and the way he showed us what Franklin Richards is made of was what sealed the deal for me. And now, this mad lad, took the reigns for the revival of X-Men. IF you have read his previous works, you will understand that he does things left and right, that at first glance seem random, and he is able to connect ALL of those into a self-sustained story that ALSO sets up future stories.
hickman is the best mainstream writer right now, ..its not even close.. for the last decade... FF, time runs out, shield!, and this! he has an incredible imagination.
Snyder's justice league, Morrisons GL book, and these books have single handedly gotten me back into comics, and Rob (comics explained) and your youtube channels have also helped (immensely) Thanks Spill..."squad up" heh
Chris Connolly ive been reading comics for a good minute as well. Since 2006. mind you, i stopped shortly after secret wars, and had cut back by allot around 2011 mark I also read in my childhood, from 89-96...
johnnyscifi our years are a touch different, our pattern is the same. My first round Of collecting was 80-85. Then I got back in, on and off at different times, since 96.
@@johnnyscifi the years after secret wars were tough I still havent fully gotten back into marvel, i just made peace that it was kind of an ending for me
Finally! A writer who has brought me back to REALLY reading Marvel comics. Hickman's plans are very cerebral. You think you know what's going to happen but this happens. The data pages to break up the book are what I enjoy. It also contributes to deep thinking after reading each issue of Power of X(10) and House of X. I am still at a puzzled by those "birthing pods" in that splash of House of X #1. Makes me wonder even more about the being calling himself "Charles".
I get the feeling this will go down as Hickman's greatest storyline. Like Geoff Johns Green Lantern, Grant Morrison and Scott Snyder Batman, and JLA era greatness.
This is sick I love how they reuse some of the original source material in expanded on it with the use of other things that have been added to the lore
How many times do I have to say that Xavier took over Phantomex's body before someone says "Oh yeah maybe that's what's different about him?" Thats actually what happened so hopefully they stick to it.
Claremont-Cockrum history, manifesting in the current creative team. I so appreciate when a creative team takes you somewhere new, after they study the earlier works.
You go through so much detail. Thank you. It helps. I'm new to Marvel but can follow along. I think Hickman isn't difficult to understand but throws so much content at you
You know , I have watched this across different presenters in the last few days and how you explained this by relating the past storylines to thos stroyline was extremely helpful , because it was not entirely clear to me why they were going after master mold in space to stop the sentinel production. maybe it was because I was washing dishes and lostening to the commentary when I was listening to their commentaries as opposed to relaxing and taking every thing in. any how thaanks. this was very elucidating.
I am fairly sure that Charles's use of Cerebra is two fold: 1) To cover the fact that maybe Xavier looks a lot like Fantomex these days & 2) Even with Fantomex's brain and body reconfigured and Charlie in the drivers seat, he may need artificial means of augmentation to reach his pre-dead levels. BONUS!!! #3 It looks wicked cool! And why should Magneto always get the mad helmet stylin'?
I think Hickman is using New X-Men as the warning signs for his run. Like how Cassandra claimed she was the new race of sentient being, Hickman is the evolution of the NXM run. Even down to Here Comes Tomorrow’s far distant future imagery being blended (kinda) into PoX-and presumably one of Moira’s lives. If I see a Phoenix egg that hatches Jean Grey I’ll flip 😂 The second evolution as the inciting incident for Morrison feels like how Hickman is using this Growth of Culture/Race. It is working on a natural level, scientific level, and the future scope. I’m in the camp that Hickman looked at the X landscape and saw how afraid the Marvel offices were of NXM-retconning it into the ground-and picked up those thematic ideas and the ominous symbolism of Nova to give Charles even less humanity to build his own distinct narrative. Then again Moira could end up being a version of Nimrod in one of her lives talking with blue alien Charles so who even knows?
Sara Cohle im just glad that somebody has finally come along that is continuing what Morrison started!!! I know that a couple writers have used a couple characters Morrison created, like Whedon using Cassandra Nova and Remender with Fantomex, but not to this extent, and i love it!!!
johnnyscifi I think the X-Men have been taken over by a new Brotherhood (Magneto, Sabretooth, Mystique, Toad, being led by Cassandra Nova) and Moria is collecting data from all the timelines so she can create a perfect timeline.

I'm really feel'n Xavier's new helmet and costume. It has a old-school Weapon X feel to it. About time they put the true leader of the X-Men in uniform. . .😁🤩👌
Thank you for these videos man ✊🏽 you’re the only person I like to watch for comic book breakdowns. I love the more casual and personable explanations.
15:55 She's Mummudrai and his sister. "Mummudrai, also known as the anti-self, are entities that each individual must fight before being born." It's the "evil twin" idea.
I had assumed it to be the maker Reed Richard's, since hickman dropped him in the 616 and no one has done anything with him, but has been seen around mutant business.
I see no one noticed that Xavier used telekinesis when he snatched the flash drive from Mystiques hands. It appears that when he rebuilt his body he gave himself full access to his low level telekinetic abilities. Possibly making them stronger as well. 😉 You're welcome.
@Skrill Dilly In the most recent Astonishing X-Men run, it was revealed Xavier's psyche has been held prisoner by the ShadowKing since the Phoenix Five storyline. While the X-men fought him on the physical plain, xavier beat him in the astral plain and he convinced Fatomex to sacrifice his body so he could return to the "real" world.
This is a great explanation of Years 1-10 I'm courious to see what unfolds and if the future is just inevitible but Year 1000 has me woundering if that was just the plan all along
Uh Creed wasn't trying to outright defeat them. As you can see he damaged Ben. He could've done a lot more damage. Cyclops didn't just casually give up Creed. He knows that they can retrieve Creed whenever they want. It seems it he did this to simply not draw too much attention to the misson.
This is so much fun it's incredible I've been reading the X-Men since you 125 which when I fell in love with Jean Gray I actually cried when the Phoenix died
5:00 No they haven't. The only change from the existing history is the fact that Xavier, Magneto, and Moira knew a general idea how everything was going to go down. The Krakoa plants were all planted in the six month gap since the end of Uncanny/Age of X-Man.
Is it me or it seems like Master Mold and the Sentinel technology feels similar to skynet from the Terminator series. Especially with the role Sentinels play in the Days Of Future Past storyline.
In this way the humans are aware they are all in, they have set a target for Sentinels to destroy instead of the system self directing everyone as the enemy.
Furthermore I think Moira has taken over Karima the Omega Prime Sentinel's body and she(Moira) is the early Nimrod warning system herself. What made me suspicious is Karima's near fondness when telling Dr. Gregor Kurt's name. Also when she blasted Cyclops with a nanite blast instead if something deadlier.
I love Magneto & Cycs rocking the old aesthetic utility belts. Don't understand why Damage Control would have that super duper tippy top secret information though 😕. Even though the X-mens greatest enemy is Time Travel, I'm really feeling this storyline. Its refreshing for a change.
What can i say ? you nailed it bro. You even schooled me about things i had no idea of . Thank you. Just when i think im on top of things i see there's some details i missed . lol . Eventhough i read it , i cant wait to hear your synopsis of year 100 and 1000 .
No wonder it looks like why Captain America is secretly scared of mutants or should I say nervous they are born not only that but they get to learn their powers longer and more than someone who got them by accident or experiment
I love that Charles isnt as straight laced and that his intentions are unclear. It's the reverse of the Kylo Ren job they did on Cyclops because he isnt reacting like some numbskull.
Muma'Drai...i believe... Lastly, as much as i loved New X-Men, there is one thing im glad got retconned out, and that being the whole Magneto//Xorn stuff...
That would be insanely frightening! Imagine them with the capacity to send armies of Sentinels throughout the galaxy and all super powered/mutant gened alien civilizations start getting driven near extinction and blaming Earth/Humans for the slaughter of millions upon millions.
@Thomas Garrison yh but it looks like they've bastardised it into an AI system that makes sentinels and starts the war leading into year 100 It could just be a Dyson sphere and they're just using it to power the thing idk but Hickman loves his self-references
I’m confused this is a different timeline but Secret Wars still happened, and Magneto is still young even though he was only deaged by Moira trying to see if she could remove his “evil” gene...
