I remember being so glad they made Jake , Trevor's bio dad. I remembered thinking when amanda got pregnant that why amanda & jake never thought it was possible he could be Jake's father , they last slept together I believe in october & the baby was born in june perfect 9 months. I think the writers did not realize how popular jake & amanda were & they broke them up bc he suddenly had feelings for that blonde woman soldier . I know they were a big couple on another soap but on AMC their characters did not have the same chemistry & amc watchers did not care about them having chemistry on another soap. Most people probably never saw them on guiding light.
No one can look at that adorable baby and tell me the original plan wasn’t to make JR the father. They just flipped the script when Jake and Amanda became popular together. I could never accept them as a couple. Not after watching ten year old Amanda running around playing with young Junior and Jamie at the same time 30 year old Jake was fighting for custody of baby Colby. I get SORASing is an everyday occurrence on soaps but that was just too much for me.
@@ndl5193 I never thought of Petey. I still think Jamie would be my first choice but I would've chosen Petey any day over Jake. Don't get me wrong, I loved Jake's character, just not with Amanda.

Agreed. JR , Jaimie or even Petey Cortlandt ( if he had the SORAS those 3 had) would have made more sense.

I'm guilty of watching soaps when they were on,but looking through these old clips I realized how bad of an example they are for people.
