    This video was absolutely fantastic because it shows all of us the reality of dog training. You, who we admire so much, also have to start from the bottom just like all of us with dogs who don't know how to perform perfectly first time. It's great for us to see that when asked to do a command and how quickly the dog can improve by correct encouragement technique and patience. Thank you for showing us not only your highlight reel but the everyday grind and how much fun you and your dog have doing it ! That's why we love you mate 👍😁

    I'm training my rottweiler. 4 months old, I'm loving the footage that's coming from your channel its helped so much. Basic sit, flat and recall at the moment. I'll definitely be purchasing the online courses. Such good quality simple content. Effective. Great trainer.

    I work at a dog kennel and I bring my heeler to work with me every day. A little over a year ago the first week I was putting her in a play yard out front and she could see me exercising dogs and wouldn’t stop barking so I talk to her to go lay down on command by throwing bark chips at her and pointing 😂 she’s was around 7 months old and still using the command today

      Then find someone like Haz who knows what he is doing. Then and only then start protection training.

    • @1packatak

      There are low calorie treats out there. Some are like less than 5 calories each.
      Best thing to do is use part of their daily kibble as the reward.

    Guys a quick question, I have a 2 month old puppy and she likes to chew on my shoes and socks when I have them on.
    and when I push her away she goes straight into my hands.

    • @elijahblake861
      @elijahblake861 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Show her what she can chew on instead, for example a toy. Dogs will always do what is self rewarding and in that case it is chewing, make the toy more interesting than your shoe. Or use “OUCH” method that is frequently used for bite inhibition, but it can be used for any item human is wearing. Pushing your dog away doesn’t train them, a dog must learn by thinking by themselves, with guidance from human.

    • @Emma-fe6yt
      @Emma-fe6yt 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'll add too, that if they are getting really amped up and not responding, that you can move them to a crate or pen area to calm down. My puppy is a horrible biter, and I am trying as many ways possible to get him to stop. The ouch method hasn't really worked for us, but either totally ignoring and walking away from him, or putting him in a pen if he is way too crazy, has seemed to help some. I know my pup really just wants to be around me, so even just walking away is often enough negative feedback for him to chill out a bit

    My puppy is aggressive when vehicles are passing by. How do I correct this behavior?

    • @Emma-fe6yt
      @Emma-fe6yt 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I have a pup that starts to get reactive to bicycles and other fast moving things, not cars, but what I started to do was move as far away from them as I needed to get no reaction and have the pup do something for me (like sit or down or whatever) just to get their attention on me and a bit distracted from the environment. Slowly move toward the object he reacts to, and continue to make him work, and rewarding him for when he is not reacting with praise and/or treats. This worked very quickly for my pup with bikes, and I was able to have my friends ride right next to us and around us on a walk without him getting crazy at them! If he started getting reactive to them, I would turn away, do a quick pop on the leash to show him that's not okay, and move back to a distance where I wasn't being reactive any more. Good luck with your puppy :)

    I wish it was that easy for my GSD puppy! He has a tendency to feel he needs to be right up close and personal when he does his commands.

    • @1packatak
      @1packatak 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Then don’t let him. Find a way, such as throwing the food to get him to go away. And stop rewarding anything that is not what you want.

    Initially I thought it was a good video and there are some good parts but other parts I question or see some potential holes in application of training. For example at 8:06 when you repeat the exercise and give the dog pressure by walking forward and repeating the down command, it's not actually helping the dog to understand what you're asking to do. Instead she becomes slightly overstimulated as you barrel towards her (you can see her ears go back) and shove the food in her mouth. Also it's a training fundamental/rule that you shouldn't try to repeat a command to a dog, it just "dilutes" it for them. Instead of getting a result of higher performance, we get a dog that only responds to several repetitions of the command and confused/overwhelmed when they don't get it.

      Then you need to find something he likes. A toy. A tug. A ball.
      I had a Beagle that would work like crazy for a squirrel pelt.
