My father owned that car for many years. He collected antique cars, that one was his favorite. Drove it often, even in the 4th of July parades in Galena, IL, USA. I think he would be happy to see you two loving it so much. I can’t wait to see what you do with her.
I'm 81 yrs old and my 4th grad teacher had the same car and the only one in town and I always thought that it was a beauty, that was in Calif, love you guys, I love your garage,
Orson Welles gave Rita Hayworth a '41 coupe that was later restored. It was a mint green - 'Paradise Green' - and looked very good. I believe it went to auction earlier this year. Great find, Jim - it will look fantastic next to the Mark II. Hope you find a '58 Mark III next!
Hey big daddy, I saw that car and I tell you no lie, it had every custom treatment you could name, and when I asked the guy about it, he said he was just storing it for the guy that actually owned it and he told me the story about how it used to belong to Rita Hayworth. The car I saw was more than likely a Lincoln Zephyr, it had a padded Carson top, a LaSalle grille, everything was frenched, it had push button doors and a continental kit, I think it may have even been sectioned, it had been fully customized way back in the day and needed complete restoration. It was about 40 some odd years ago when I saw that car, I never forgot it.
V12 ! Not many cars were made after 41 . After the war ended it took a few years for the manufacturers to really invest in new styling & new engines. The Chevy , Ford & Chrysler small blocks were another 10 yrs out after the war . They basically built straighs & flatheads .. But they were very dependable for the era & easy to work on...
What a strikingly beautiful car, You now have the largest Lincoln collection in Canada. Glad you got it. You did a great job on Scott's Chevy. I just subscribed. I live in Pennsylvania, in the US
Wow Jim, that's a great looking car there. Excellent that it runs. Lincoln V12 trivia: Did you know the V12 is odd-fire? The timing events are not equally divided. Something to do with the 72 degree Vee angle. Oh yeah, loved the closing shot too. Take care, don't overdo it, Matt. All the best, Mart in England.
I saw this car when it was up for sale on IG from a hot rod buddy not long ago. That's a really nice car. I was really jonesing for it. Glad you guys got it!
CONGRATS ON MULTIPLE FRONTS!!! Kudos for 10K. Ku-DOS for a SWEET catch with that Lincoln. The epitome of style and elegance for the age. Purrs nicely, should be a wonderful project as well as splendid content fodder. Cheers, Gentlemen!
Wicked !!! I thought the 56 was treasure , this is ultra rare treasure here Matt hopping around there ....lol... take it easy there ...... Keep 'em coming !!!
Cool Lincoln I believe Edsel Ford had a major influence on the Continental I heard that they had to keep enlarging the grill because of the V/16 generated more under hood heat than the V8 little did they know they design an iconic grill
It's always nice when your buddy's just a hop, skip, and a jump away when you need help.V-12 Lincoln will be awesome once you drop in the twin turbos and bolt on the gold 24's...I jest.Sounded so smooth at idle. Can't wait to see it after the 1st waxing.Congratulations!
I could say I was surprised if it wasn't Jim that bought that Conti. You always seem to find these jewels. Congrats on the Lincoln sister to the 56. Now let's see that Powell you have! Hoping Matt is healing well and feeling better.
Congrats gents! The distributor(s) on these is crazy. Jim sure likes the Lincolns he needs to collect them all. Just try not to buy any more smashed up ones!
I have one. It’s midnite blue. It’s 1 of 9 of the 400 built with the blue and white leather with white piping interior. Been in my family since new and Hasn’t been on the road since ‘65. Beautiful machines!!
Was I the only one who saw the rear wheel fender skirts and thought it had a chrome mermaid riding a seahorse? Yep. Definitely have had too much caffeine! Jim’s garage may become the Memorial House of Lincoln.
SG, great video! my friend Bob had a 1939 (as I remember) Lincoln Zephier V-16 back in the mid-50s that smoked a bit more than your V-12! Thanks for the memories!
Just an AMAZING score guys ! One of the best looking cars ever built to my eyes - glamour on wheels ! You will no doubt know all about the problems that the old V12 suffered - mainly due apparently to poor ventilation and breathing . Rather a good article was written about it some years ago by another Jim - Jim Norris , entitled "Lincoln-Zephyr : Return of the Breeze . He details his ways to correct the problems .
Great find! Two '41s and two Continentals out of only three cars. Fingers crossed the smoke clears up. But if a rebuild is in the cards it would make for some pretty Strong content.

Absolutely fantastic, gentlemen! Congrats Jim on such an amazing machine! Can't wait to see it... Cheers!
Jim seems you are into those Lincoln Continentals. This one is really special. Can't wait to see you and Matt fix it up and taking it for a spin.
Don't let Jim and Scott near that car together or fenders will be flying g off.

At one point, after it backed into the parking spot, I said to myself "Boy, that is unreal." Very special car.
The old girl took right off. Nice!
A stunning car that could not have found a better home! Congratulations!
Great score! One of my favourite cars. Careful Jim or your nickname will be Mr Lincoln!
What a nice car. These are so much prettier than the post war versions. Really don't know what they were thinking with the styling on those.
Congrats on 10K subscribers! Lovely car. A Zepher is just as rare. I'd bet the production numbers are very small and parts are hard to find.

Congrats Matt and Jim on breaking 10000 subscribers. Awesome purchase Jim ,very cool car.
Dual exhaust with some Smithy’s mufflers or even straight pipe would sound so good on that V12.
Scott's bud will whip up a great sound.
I saw this car when it was up for sale on IG from a hot rod buddy not long ago. That's a really nice car. I was really jonesing for it. Glad you guys got it!
Hey that steering wheel is a disaster!!! Other than those tired looking fender skirts, she's gorgeous! Congrats!!
Good luck. They are great cars.
Aw that is just the bee's knees, gentlemen!
The hopping on crutches was the best part. Nice old car also.

My dad had a 41 Merc. Great car I can still remember the smell 70 years later. The Merc had black-out headlight shields.
Cool Lincoln
I believe Edsel Ford had a major influence on the Continental
I heard that they had to keep enlarging the grill because of the
V/16 generated more under hood heat than the V8 little did they know they design an iconic grill
What a beautiful specimen of Lincoln automobiles!

One of the most beautiful cars ever made. Huge, huge congrats on the purchase!
I like the 41 grill better than the 42/46. What a great find and addition to the channel.
I could say I was surprised if it wasn't Jim that bought that Conti. You always seem to find these jewels. Congrats on the Lincoln sister to the 56. Now let's see that Powell you have! Hoping Matt is healing well and feeling better.

I have one. It’s midnite blue. It’s 1 of 9 of the 400 built with the blue and white leather with white piping interior. Been in my family since new and Hasn’t been on the road since ‘65. Beautiful machines!!
Sweet old Lincoln, maybe the last one produced before WWII change over to war production.
It is special and so Lincolnish.
Thanks.
It makes the Fords and Mercs look small. Nice find.
Was I the only one who saw the rear wheel fender skirts and thought it had a chrome mermaid riding a seahorse?
Yep. Definitely have had too much caffeine!
Jim’s garage may become the Memorial House of Lincoln.
Time for an update!!!!
Incredible car. Straight out of a 1940s Warner Bros movie being driven by some glamorous film star. 😊
I’ve dreamed of owning one of these since I was 12…1955.
Awesome car! Jim is really moving up in the world with his collection of cool Lincolns. Nice to see a survivor like this in good hands.
SG, great video! my friend Bob had a 1939 (as I remember) Lincoln Zephier V-16 back in the mid-50s that smoked a bit more than your V-12! Thanks for the memories!
