    Thank you for the clear instructions, especially for some of us who don’t completely understand how all this stuff works.

    Hey Tyler. Thanks for the reminder. I see your setting for ice fishing; however, could you give us a tutorial when were after kok or salmon in the PNW (using Helix 5)? Thanks!!

    Thank you for the video. I have been battling for a while to get it done. Main points: class ten size 32 gb. While I updated the software first and then the base map, apparently you can do it together. Second, on the Basemap, on Mac, when downloaded, it is decompressed/unzipped automatically. Just open the folder and drag the files to the SD card, eject,. Turn off your fish finder, place the microSD (helix 5) and start and it should work.

    trying to update my helix 7 chirp gps G3 with 2.320 update , hummingbird says this version must be updated first before i can update to the most recent 2.890 update , my issue is the unit will not prompt me asking me if i want to update the software ( 2.320) the unit does absolutely nothing . I did reset the defaults prior to inserting the micro card into the unit , any ideas on why i am having this issue ? FYI the current software in the unit is 2.030

      I've had this happen once. I tried a different SD card and it worked. Remember it must be class 10 32 GB

    Does it have to be 32gb? Do you know if you can use a 64 or 128?

      @spiltmilt  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You cannot

      @@spiltmilt thanks for the reply. When you powered your unit on, did you go into normal mode?

      Not saying that at all but with software updates you can get many of the features of newer models.

    How come it has to be a 32gb class 10 card? Would a 7 be worth it compared to the Helix 5? I don't have a depth finder. The last one I had was a green box. Thanks for your videos.

      The card size and speed is something that Humminbird recommends.
      I have a whole video on the Helix 5 vs the 7 here: th-cam.com/video/BkXK1LDUR-o/w-d-xo.html

    Do you like the Hummingbird flashers? I have a Marcum flasher and it cr@pped out the second year I had it. Display spins around and won't read out anything but garbage. I paid a hefty price for it and was so disappointed I haven't ever purchased another flasher. If I do it for dang sure won't be a Marcum, so I was wondering what you think of the Hummingbird ones?

      I've had my Helix 5 for 4 years and use it year round on the ice and open water kayak fishing. I'm not all that kind to my equipment and it has never let me down. They have great customer service based out of Alabama so if u ever run into problems you'll be talking to someone from the states.
