so cute! Fighting over who gets to cuddle with the babies and keep them warm. Finally it came down to, "Fine. You take one baby I'll take the other."
Watching this after Dad Decorah's disappearance and it brought tears to my eyes. I miss Dad Decorah so much. Im so sad. So gentle, so loving to his family. :-( :-(
I love how he clenches his feet, to not hurt the babies, and gently moves over them to protect. Thanks for sharing!

Dad was always the more "broody" of the two. He would sit in the egg bowl for hours before the eggs were even laid. We lost him in the next breeding cycle--I can't help but think he could sense that his days as a parent were almost over, with 27 (AT LEAST) babies fledged to the wild. In 2018, Mom often had to push him aside to take over her shift!
Breathtaking! These majestic creatures possess such tenderness and delicate balance in caring for their babies! There is also a deep affection between mother and father. Thank you for sharing!

I, also watched this live, I almost fell over at Mom's insistence of dad moving over or out, lol. dad gently beaks Mom's head when she tries to catch a glimpse of her wee ones....so sweet the gentleness of both of them

This must be the fourth time I watch the video! I only got to discover the live stream in May this year, but have watched many past videos, and cried when I heard the story of Dad Decorah :( I know Mum is getting on with age, but I do hope she can have a reliable companion in DM2. Glad he came back after an extended summer holiday!
