Ice Fishing Shack Flooded, How I Got Through It

We fished for a few days preparing for the derby that upcoming weekend. When we packed up camp our shelter had frozen in pretty bad so we had to leave it until the day before the derby and mother nature decided to turn it into a swimming pool during that time. Lesson learned if u can pack up your shelter its wise to do so and not count on the weather

I wonder if Joe's pallets would have saved the day. The day I lost a 40 lb. plus togue on a Maine frozen lake doesn't haunt me. It inspires me. I know there are fish that big below my feet. I want to be ready the next time. I am already planning on not only catching a fish that size but having it weighed on a certified scale with an independent witness. Such a fish would be too valuable to the fishery and the lake's mystique to mount.

I was wondering that also. I think I might build a floor next year the only reason I didn’t this year Is because I’m upgrading to a much better shack next season. That’s a giant togus. Last summer in a few of my videos I was searching for giant largemouth & I caught one in a small pond that I know was close to 10lbs during the spawn but my scale was broken. I got a new scale and went out day after day And never got anything bigger than 6lb 2oz on the scale. Thanks for watching you will get another shot at that fish

I didn’t want to buy the cheap one or pay a lot of money for the expensive one so I fabricated my own out of flat stock and round tube metal welded and painted it and used two pillow block mounted ball bearings I just use stuff I had laying around and thank you for the comment
