My synopsis: Mal - Hard realization that business and friends don’t mix. Roary - Understands business but didn’t think it would come to this because of friendship. Joe - Business is business nothing personal. “So What!?”
No. Its thiss. Mal. I was round u when u was broke living with me for years. I joined because u asked me to. And made nd helped the podcast grow. Rory. Nothing to say. Just look at how joe disrespects rory and says shut up rory all the time. And say i wont let a person like u talk to me like that. But when rory responds the same, joe says rorys trippn theyre supposed to be friends. Bjt joe only disrespects rory and tslks down to him. Joe. I want money. I want the status. I wanna be big time. I love this life and i will cut off my friends to keep the money for the moment going. Moral of story. Joe should kno money and things dont last forever. He takes his rap career failure and overshoots everything. I see a fake dude in joe. That want attention and is delusional.
@@ThisisStephennn This is a terrible take. Mal and joe are long term friends, they owe eachother respect. What long term friends do you have that you don't respect? None. Otherwise you wouldn't be friends.
@@DrGameNwatch you don't owe anybody anything, you people with this enticement shit are crazy, I choose to respect you if I don't you have the choice to be my friend or not. We all have choices and are not obligated to do anything . Secondly as long term friend mal should've showed up for joe on the pod that's why Joe said he never though mal would've left him hanging like that🤦🏽♂️
@@DrGameNwatch you still owe them nothing. Get out of your feelings. You give them respect because they are your friends. But, first and foremost you give them respect because they're a human. But you owe your friend nothing. Giving respect to your friend or to anyone is part of being courteous and being a good person. How much respect you give varies on the history, interactions and experiences you've had with the person.
Damn, the amount of deflection, projection and contradiction from Joe is wild. I thought he was a sensible guy, but ego and emotions got him ignoring logic.
False. Rory and Mal are actually the two insensitive ones and obv they were plotting for a min. it’s easy to lead someone to act a certain way and then “call” them out for the action that you created.
@@ishort8401 My thoughts have nothing to do with Rory and Mal, so you can save the chat about sensitivity. Listening to Joe, he was talking like he doesn't value honour or loyalty.
@Joseph Brandon you’re right. He’s literally ALWAYS been this way. Joe Budden pretty much created the love and hiphop culture with all his internet drama. He is literally one of the first to be a celeb and have his drama continuously aired out on social media. We know too much about Joe to ever think one day he’s going to wake up a mentally and emotionally stable man.
I don't listen to this show very often. Maybe once every few months. But I just listened to the first 30 minutes of Mal and Rory venting their feelings, and the first thing Joe did is launch into his tirade about Jay-Z saying "So what?" I immediately cut it off. Guys, end this shit while y'all still have your dignity. Joe did not gain the perspective from this, that y'all did. It's over.
Damn, what up Mac! Good perspective, Joe seems like he holds a grudge and hasn't matured at all from this. Better for them all to call it a day before they lose their friendship.
Rory seems like he just wants things back to normal. Mal seems like he's lost all respect for Joe and is just fulfilling his contractual obligations. Joe seems like he doesn't really care what either of them do cuz he knows that he has solid options in Ish and Ice. I can see this iteration of the JBP ending once contracts expire
@@megmur1766 You think if Joe offers them a contract they're going to decline? Before JBP, I had no clue who Ish was and only knew Ice as a twitter troll lol. What else do they have going on that's going to give them this type of exposure?
Joe owns the pod he doesn’t owe Mal any explanation. Mal just has to turn up, play with his phone and occasionally have some input, tap dance for his celebrity friends and cash his check✌🏾🇬🇧
When Joe tried to reach him for 3 days then he randomly showed up to the pod to press Joe in from of parks and sayvon howd that go... I need the details of that convo because I'd prolly tell mal to same thing. It's like yo I tried to reach you but you purposely ignored me to try and use some type of embarrassment tactic. And not only are you no longer asking about rory like you claimed, you reading these comments online so you came to talk business? I thought you were the cool guy. Nothing matters because your set.

I just said this to my husband the other day...Rory and Joe were always professional friends so I can see that returning with ease but Mal and Joe is a whole different story...
@@b.o.1951 he didn't, he was playing mediator & in turn Joe basically told him to back off since nothing belongs to him and he's only a part time employee. Safe to say it hurt Mal's feelings and he probably doesn't care about contributing to the show much.
It makes me sick that ppl still support Joe Budden! This D+ rapper now turned businessman is nothing but a black eye on black ppl. Facts! Why isn't joe being cancelled? He has blatantly stole from his friends and co hosts..he then blatantly lied about why he fired them! He then sexually harassed a black woman so why his he still on the air? Is this what you support? This is acceptable..? In my opinion it is not and he needs to go!
This shit is even more interesting to watch after watching their response. To watch how fake joe is being while they’re opening up about everything is crazy
Lol overpaid employees. The show was fire without them their for weeks. And started before they were added to the podcast. They don't have a brand without Joe 😂
Joe never forgot how mal & rory laughed when Jay said "SO WHAT" to him in public. Seems like he held on to that embarrassing moment and patiently waited for an opportunity to say - through his actions - laugh now "SO WHAT!!"
I’d go as far as all three of them will never be the same, that’s why I think they shouldn’t have returned. As men they have no self respect. They returned and got put in their place for the world to see✌🏾🇬🇧
facts. This has been eye-opening for Mal. He'll never look at Joe the same. I went through the same shit with a friend. Loyalty & respect is everything.
that's a LIE , they would be much better !! Men usually don't get the chance to DETOX , this was much needed therapy for all of them . Very Healthy !!!
Sounds like Joe already had his mind set on moving forward without the guys. He knew it was over. His mind was set and made up. Been listening for like 5 years. End of an Era honestly.
Yep! I watch SO many old pods going back to the 200’s (some of the very best!). Compilations too because I have been a supporter from the beginning. I watch & listen to both of their pods now, supporting them. They brought me so many laughs and joy together!
Charlemagne was right. The moment Joe named the JBP it was a countdown to this day. Joe's a rights holder and in the content game that's all that matters and Joe knows it. he could cut them in with equity but off this episode, don't see that happening.
Everyone knows that a person who refers to themselves in third person has narcissistic traits. Joe did this multiple times in this video. I feel bad for Rory and Mal. They finally came to the realization of who Joe really is.
@Glen Gaines Joe's been a narcissist since forever though. Glad they went their separate ways and are prospering. Hate the pod broke up still tho. I lean more to Mal and Rory than I do Joe. I knew of Joe first but I also felt I couldn't keep just giving him a pass, so to say 🤷🏿♂️ Almost like enabling a alcoholic. I just couldn't keep doing it. I tap in with Joe's pod every now and then but I can't respect how he handled this situation.
In a nutshell. On one hand Joe let them come back even though everyone on this thread knows the show was gonna be successful without them. On the other a fucked up way to show Rory whos runs this shit! But who should have sat who down first. They both were wrong for they way they handled their emotions. IM with Mal Friends go thru shit but RESPECT IS NON NEGOTIABLE. I love this podcast!
Yep Joe just got tired of being the little man, his rap career labels never prioritised him over other artists, complex profited off what he built and didn’t want to pay him more. He preached about how sick the industry is and how Spotify did them dirty but the more money he got he turned into the industry people and treated his friends exactly how industries treated him.
@@FreeBandz658 You clearly only been around Joey for a few years. You’re stupid for saying this, joe gave them a table and brought them the fucken food when they had nothing. You are lost.
That’s Joe tho. He’s emotional, unstable and arrogant. He’s a joke. Idek why people care to listen to any opinion he has. Dude can’t accept he chose the wrong lane, was a failure compared to his peers (because of his personality) and he’ll always self-destruct. Joe made everything about Joe without even once considering their feelings which sums up Joe as a person. Joe loves Joe and has blinders on for any criticism; constructive or otherwise!
I am, 30 people should starve their kids so that Rory and Mall can stay in their feelings? Everybody in the comments definitely from the hood only thinking with y'all hearts and loyalty.
@@damian999x7 AK actually spoke the truth about these guys. Mall slept in Joe crib and Rory used to be a dusty college grad looking for a job. Joe set them up nicely, now look at them.
Exactly, Joe could of been way more brutally honest about this situation but because they are friends he took it easy on them. Mal out of line talking about he should of stop the pod and it’s something he help built. Hell no Joe built that shit he just took them for the ride.
Joe really said that he’d doesn’t respect his friends. This guy wonders why the fans call him a narcissist and why his relationship fail continuously. He also told Rory to stay at home but then accuses him of giving up on the podcast and sabotage him. He doesn’t understand what the word accountability means. Joe needs to realize that he’s the common denominator amongst all these failed relationships.
How he tried to make the argument that respect isn't owed amongst friends, and then turns around and accuses them of "abandoning the show." I love Joe but he is truly unbearable. When Mal said Joe told him the pod is none of his business and Joe didn't bat an eye was very telling. He doesn't respect them at all, but anything less that blind allegiance he takes personally. He absolutely is a narcissist.
You said everything i was thinking. The sad part is we knew before hearing them discuss the incident that it was Joe who f'd it up. The comments on the first 2 episodes with Ice, and Ish was majority of fans saying Joe did/said something stupid. Its his track record. He NEVER takes accountability when he screws stuff up. All he does is make excuses, or try to convince us its not him. I love the POD, but Joe has to come back down to earth. He has let fame and money go to his head. Why would you risk ppl who genuinely got your back?
@@mildmayheadless5217 I just put this as my username as a random throwback haha. I didn't know a live action movie was coming out. Tbh most live action films based off anime tend to be trash so I stay away from them
I respect them for coming on air and talking about their issues. A lot of other shows don’t do that even when the audience can tell it’s something going on. Cause they talk about everybody else’s shit all day lol so salute to them.
Limme tell y'all what really happened. Mal took time off to prepare and get ready for Ultimate Madness 3 on URL. Now that Mal lost to Swamp in the first round........he got time for the Podcast again.
I grew up with friends who had Mal mentality, and “friends” who had Joes mentality... needless to say at 40 years old only the Mals are still around as crew
I don't know whose right or whose wrong. But if Joe thinks these dudes are replaceable and he can play musical chairs, then just let Mal and Rory go start their own podcast. Why threaten them with a lawsuit if they do their own thing before a year is up? You fired them! Seems like Joe is afraid he will lose some of the audience. But I do agree that Joe's name is what boosted the podcast at the beginning. But it's the chemistry of the 3 that made it grow to the level it is.
How niggas in Joe pocket who he's trying put on. They was suppose use tye platform to go get the bag. This the thing Jay-Z did, Jay didnt want niggas in his pockets. Shit Joe brung them niggas M's.
Joe taking out his feelings on the “so what” comment from Hov, on Rory and Mal is just disappointing. Did they laugh? Yea, but he should’ve said something to them later instead of waiting till now to use that. Who knows how long he been sitting on that
The so what part didnt even make sense . Joe is literally nothing to hov (when he took those beats)... but he n mal r close friends... what an awk comparison thT he brought up, kinda telling where his mind set is
Joe just used that as an excuse to negate from how hes behaved in this blow up. Textbook narcissist move. 1. Jay z aint a friend or owes you anything 2.if you truly felt a way at them laughing... explain why that moment was so important to you after that exchange happened. You dont sit on something that happened that you didnt like to then use it as a catalyst for your actions years later. Thats corny. 3. There's no scenario in the world where the respect level with a stranger in the street and a friend should be the same. As friends you owe it to each other to maintain the respect level between each other IF you deem them a friend and they have earned that from the years of the Friendship. The biggest takeaway from all this Joe doesn't view Rory and Mal as equals or partners.. so its never gonna be quite the same again. Rory and Mal need to part ways from the business side and at least try and mend there personal friendship.
Joe is soft af taking his Jayz business ptsd on his friends who helped build his brand back. Dude was a flopped rapper bum before his podcast got some real traction and landed his complex gig.
I agree with all of y’all! The line about not owing your friends respect bothers me as well, how you not gonna feel a sense of obligation to respect your friends. Joe just a hurt dude. Wish him the best tho
“You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain” - Harvey Dent from The Dark Knight Joe fought so long against the industry and became that right in front of us during this segment. I love this podcast but we’re all watching these shows differently from now on. With or without Ish and Ice. This was sad to watch. “Outstanding” can’t fix this.
Joe becoming the corporate villain he "fought" against for years is really not as deep as it seems. No different than teenagers rebelling against their oppressive parents only to become the same as their parents as they get older and have kids of their own too. Or an employee that thinks he's going to be the cool boss once he becomes one and then gets smacked with the reality that being a business owner or boss has real responsibilities and shit that employees don't know about. Previously Joe was an employee. Now he's realizing that being a boss is different and not as evil as he thought. It happens when you level up.
My friends do not "owe" me respect BUT if my friends don't respect me then we probably shouldn't be friends and definitely shouldn't be business partners.
But you do owe friends respect. Even if you don't like how your friend is moving you don't immediately start moving like its beef or you never fucked with them anyway. Its a certain way of moving and Joe just don't understand that. He's always had this problem tho
@@Del_116 if he was smart he would end their employment. this episode proves they all delusional. especially mal. he literally has always added the least to the show. and rory been using jo for a come up since he met him.
We see all the years of therapy and working on himself still has 40 year old Joe emotionally stunted. Talking to life long friend who you lived with for over a decade and saying "you're supposed to ride with me" and in the same breath "so what!?
Joe told Rory not to come to the Pod and Joe was rude to Mal. He should have apologised straight away and sorted it out. It's simple. He shouldn't have texted Rory don't come. All three should have sat down and admitted the pod sounds horrible something needs to change like they did in the end. That's what Mal wanted. Why couldn't they do that? Even if it ended up with Rory taking time off at least they would have had the start of some kind of solution.
Joe is psychotic and was the one who initiated the "beef" then got mad when the guys didn't show 😂 Nothing to do with business and everything to do with ego, hence him bringing Mal laughing at him with Jay.
Thank you. Your the only one who get it. THE SHOW MUST GO ON. He said a lot of messed up stuff but just cause we friends don’t mean we can take 6 weeks off. Ppl gotta get paid it is BUSINESS. It’s just that simple
I come back to this pod for genuine entertainment purposes. You learn a lot from the moves of others. Now both parties are thriving individually. It was the best of times it was the worst of times.

I think Budden has every right to feel their contribution inferior to his but discuss that and either allow them to take up more responsibility putting the ball in their court or acknowledge you dont find their value to your show to warrant changing of the status quo. This was all one big uncomfortable airing of grievances and communication I feel that Joe never would have had without the platform of the pod. This exact convo needed to have happened off air. Its simple miscommunication Rory and Mal feel like theyve contributed to what the channel has become, would perhaps like more of a stake, and if anything to at least see their compensation to revenue earned. Budden clearly doesnt view them as essential, he sees them as people he gave a platform for their betterment and now their trying to come up off his kind gesture (essentially I'm paying them in exposure), that he is the big name, the famous one, the one people come to see, and finally "shake the tree" yall are judas's trynna finesse him. Once again all fair points and fears but things he should have voiced, especially if they consider themselves friends. Combine that with how dirty the music industry does artist I get it, this is a product of enviroment and experiences, sadly the same traits that are causing rifts like this are the same ones that helped him get where he is. theres a reason the most successful arent always the most likeable behind the scenes. But to address the lazy thing I do agree with what Joe said them coming in and recording for 2 hours and leaving and that being their contribution is not enough to Warrant certain things. I believe I said this in my earlier comment but if I didn't what should have happened was when they express their concerns and desires a conversation should have been had where he was like well look I feel like I've done everything for this and the amount of compensation/involvement you guys want is not proportional to the amount of work you contribute. Horrible comparison. Spin was actually an independent contractor. She never signed a record deal, she was literally being paid by Salt and Pep. She also was not their first DJ. Mal, Joe, and Rory literally started this together. They all signed paperwork together when it came to the show. Joe being head of Patreon is separate for him, had nothing to do with JBP.
It’s not about that. Mal and Rory have officially been shown their roles on not only the show, but in Joe Biden’s life as well. They’re workers. Typical role players. Replaceable ones as well.
When I seen the art work I asked myself why? Never know maybe that's why Joe got to where he got. Thst devil worship gets spoken bout a lot in his industry
You know what's crazy? The first time I saw it...I intuitively thought that but didn't really comment on it. And everytime I saw it I thought that. That's crazy you say that...I completely agree that those images and writings are helping them adopt a certain energy.
so what kind of energy does a picture of say Christ bring that so called "holy men" stand in front of but behind the scenes they're sexually abusing children or through these ultra-rich religious institutions are helping to sponsor war atrocities that kill poor oppressed people across the globe throughout history? Guess that moralist or so called righteous "god" iconography/energy didn't work on them. This "image/energy" talk just deflects blame off the individual or institutions that are truly the ones at fault for their own decisions/actions.
So why call someone a friend if they do not owe you respect? Someone owing you something does not equate to entitlement. It’s an exchange, I respect you you respect me. Entitlement is I give nothing and ask for something.

Mal is too emotional I mean, I know everyone is wired differently. For instance when a girl break up with a dude, you done kill her because you're hurt but some weirdos do. Don't mean it's Correct cause they do it. Mal thinks because hey feel this way or that way that's the norm. And he don't know how to learn and move on. I'm happy the way I am. We can cuss each other out and the next day can talk and laugh with you. But if you don't wanna talk I'll leave you alone gladly and lose no sleep.
I feel like Joe doesn’t listen to really hear what they are saying , he’s just waiting for his turn to speak so he can tell them why they are wrong. That’s cringe af 🤦🏽♂️ of course you owe a certain level of respect to your friends , if you call someone your friend that’s no small title , Joe must use the term “friend” really lightly.
Based on the way I see Joe treat Rory it’s one of those “friendships” where they just keep you around as a laughing stock, Joe goes out of his way to clown Rory at times
Joe talks with such “big words” & definitions and, in such a roundabout way that he loses me every time!! HE is always right. He can’t EVER be wrong. They should have asked him if HE is “owed respect” cause it seems to me that he changes the narrative and, his reasoning for doing and, moving the way he does, when it suits HIM. He’s PERFECTION INFURIATING 🤦🏽♀️🤬 I can’t even fathom what he’s like with a woman 🙄
Yeah but I understand where Joe is coming from being that they go way back and have known each other a lot longer. Joe should realize as real as Mal thinks he is having rory back cause Joe was wrong, To some people being real is a friend having your back weather you are right or wrong and that is probably what Joe thinks.
Joe and Mal had beef for a minute. But Joe takes all his Mal frustration out on Rory. Mal be treating the podcast like some shit he do a few days a week. Joe is sick of Mal's attitude about it. @@megmur1766 I'm not going to call Joe a bad boss. I don't think he has enough experience yet to call it. I also don't agree that that the issue is slowly and emotional one. I think the issue emotions stem and frustration stem from having a philosophy that contradicts and is in conflict with the responsibility that he has. Joe wants to be a boss that doesn't act like a standard industry boss. Joe wants to have a business that doesn't have the standard industry rigors. Joe wants to have friends that he dose business with, without defining the parameters of the business. All those contradictions are causing the conflict which brings about the emotions. Eventually, really soon Joe is going to have to come up with a way to handle these contradictions. Mal is going to actively fight against any displine the shows going to need to continue to reach a new level of success, as he dose now. There is no way a human can't have emotions in that situation. It's also a part of the growing pain that Joe is going to have to go through to continue in his life's work.
Ish and Ice feel like the honeymoon phase cause it’s fresh. If they stayed, it would only take a couple weeks or months before shit hits the fan cause of Joe
But funny enough ish and ice would call Joe out on his bs and then really not show up.😅 They said yoo we enjoying this for now and we here to help out but we still got our own lives and jobs to do.
Axelcorp No, the point he was trying to make was bullshit. Jay Z telling Joe “so what?” to his problems was something he wrote down in his notebook for years
That Jay z angle is good point. Joes been in his feelings and when his friends are aware of it and jayz says so what and they laugh.. They pretty much leave him out to dry in a moment hes been anticipating for years. Might as well be the nigga to run when u and your mans about to get into a nasty fight. A lot of this is coming from Joe needing to feel like he's in charge. He moving super shady and and refuses to admit his role is ruining everything. Rory and Mal are being mature and articulate in giving their points and joe just out here wildin.
Joe puts his own ego on a pedestal and he ready to drop anybody that sees him as an equal. He wants all the money and don't respect others contribution.
@@nadine8764 I hear you, that does not mean they cannot break the contract, it would just be bad business. That is why Biggs told Mal just ride it out.
After watching this and their podcast on the situation, it sounds like they left the Joe Budden podcast for the same reason Joe Budden left Complex.. & just like Complex didn't realize how much of a key component Joe was to Everyday Struggle, it doesn't seem like he realizes how much of a key component Rory & Mal are to the Joe Budden Podcast.

39:15 His real thoughts and honestly fair thoughts, HOWEVER discuss that establish boundaries and make a common understanding, create a contract everyone agrees to an understand and abide by that contract. Establish whether yall boss/employee, or partners even if its not equal partners.
48:11 This dude Joe could have been no clearer he does not value yall, whole podcast he cringed when you guys said our podcast, what happened was inevitable. And the same way he tucked those feelings, he tucked the jay z feelings, which are now manifesting themselves. If he as a "man" didnt have to "tuck" his feelings these are conversations that could have been had which is what I feel Rory and Mal keep trynna get at.
This isnt just on him its on society men cant really expressed anything other than superficial feels or they stand to lose competitive advantage or expose themselves to betrayal its always been a dog eat dog world. Combine that with how dirty the music industry does artist I get it, this is a product of enviroment and experiences, sadly the same traits that are causing rifts like this are the same ones that helped him get where he is. theres a reason the most successful arent always the most likeable behind the scenes. 1:05:31 After Mal complains about Joe saying it's not his business, Joe asks Mal, is it your business in the contract that we have? Mal says fuck the contract. Lol. Joe then says to frame it the right way, you are talking to me as the man you lived with for over a decade (instead of as the owner of the business)..
I like your explanation, but that dialogue alone cuts it way down. Those two were delusional and lazy and leveraged the friendship against Joe.
@@sweetiesweetss I don't think they were delusional or lazy I just don't think that anyone set clear boundaries or had the balls to air shit out properly leading to this cluster fuck. All parties involved to blame imo but I still put more weight on Joe. Also Joe was the first person to say he don't honor contracts so Mal being frustrated and saying fuck that contract is warranted to me at least.
But he didn't even do that. It seems like the first real time they aired out their hidden grievances was now. Not saying they didn't talk before but actually addressed issues.
