I'm just here to applaud the new framing and setup for this video! The plants positioned just off frame and in the back are perfect. Love the shelving unit as well. Having 8 you pick from for the week is beyond smart. If we challenged ourselves to set aside the pairs that simply get the most wear, we would probably surprise ourselves with how few we reach for weekly.
I keep it simple.. color coordination is king! But I don't necessarily wear whatever the obvious match it is.. if I'm wearing a multicolored shirt, I'll match up with the color that you see the least of so it'll pop..😎
You either need to go out more or buy more outfits. got roughly 90-100 pairs and about 20-30 in rotation. I never understood not wearing your shoes if you aren't selling them.
Love that you got the air techs...when I was a kid in 5th grade, the only thing that mattered was if you had a visible air unit. So the Jordan 5, air max 90, air trainer sc (bo jackson's) and the air techs (andre Agassi's) were the mount Rushmore of kicks and I've always had a pair of each one since
how i choose what to kicks to wear is find a fit (decide color options) factor in pant style (slimmer or baggier) factor in weather (no suede in rain or snow) than depending if im lazy or not whichever is easier to grab/put on *try to do shoes more often thats harder to match with if possible*
I go clothes first and then sneakers Alot easier for me. You’ve help me start to branch out into the casual mature look with sneakers. Like how you coordinate everything. It’s inspiring forsure
This was very helpful. I’m in the process of offloading shoes bc I realize I have too much!! I like how this helps you rotate your shoes and not forget what you have
Right on time as i have been thinking about a shelf for my shoes. I love how you simplified things by not getting a huge shelf and keeping it to under 10 pairs!
My girlfriend thought I was watching someone talk to a shelf 💀 As for picking shoes, I have a pic of every shoe I own and just swipe through till I see something I’m feeling for the day.
Wise words here from Eddie. NB 2002r goretex are my most worn pair. If it’s raining, or I’m out for drinks, a casual restaurant, walk in the park, errands at the shops, dress down Friday at work. I’ve even run in them a couple of times. So versatile. Other than that, I have 30 sneakers, with 15 in my shoe rack by the front door, selected depending on the season. Also have a couple of neutral daily shoes that get worn all year round. For absolute comfort I go for Yeezy 700, nothing else comes close. Got me through a few holidays which require a lot of walking. White sneaker - stan smith (luxury model with the ultra soft leather). I try to look after these and keep them clean. They smarten up well too for smarter outfits. Had these for several years, before I got into sneakers. I always have at least one pair of vans old skool or converse chuck taylor in my rotation because they are so wearable and they are the kind of shoes I grew up on.
Awesome insightful video. I struggle with this as all my shoes are in boxes. I’m tired of the daily scavenger hunt lol. Going to look into this set up.
Whaaat, I love those Air Tech Agassi’s!?! I had them back in the 80’s and was so excited to hear they are retroing. I will definitely be going after those when they drop. I’d be interested to see how you style those.
First, what colors would go with the fit, 2nd what pants/shorts am I wearing and 3rd what’s the weather like outside…those 3 questions will usually dwindle me down to about 4 or 5 options
it is hard picking what shoes to wear for the most part yes i have too many shoes i even started downsizing i got rid of alot but i still have to many it makes it hard when you have multiple shoes in the same color
For everyone asking, if you have the space store then elsewhere, mine are in the walk in closet on a high shelf. My girlfriends are stacked in her closet. I keep boxes cause if I ever needed to sell something having the OG box adds to it.
I do something like this. I have a rack of 12 sneakers that's broken up into 4 shelves of 3 pairs. I don't have as deep of a rotation, so I keep mine for the month. I also do mine by color. I've got a neutral, blue, green, and red shelf since that's mostly the palette I wear. Neutral usually has a white, black, and grey pair. Anything pink goes on the red shelf. Anything teal floats between the blue and green shelf depending on the tone or wherever it fits depending on the other shoes I pull.
I keep my go to's by the door. It's usually 3-5 all whites that have different vibes. A runner, a bball shoe, a stan smith type joint, a vans type joint, slides. Stuff for when I don't have time to think about what shoes I have to wear. Then for other times when I'm planning stuff to do on days that week I'll uncover and set out the sneakers in my collection out Sunday and make outfits and such so it's ready to go. In college that was planning 5 days a week, and now it's like 1-3 days a week.
What i do is i prepare the clothes i wear for a week, then i revolve around 2 shoes. For the next weeks i prepare outfits that use different pairs of shoes. My idea is just so i could use all of them. But ofc we really cant avoid favorites. My j3 desert elephants are just my go to everyday. Specially when its a rainy week.
I try to have a weekly lineup. So I'll do like Air Max week. Og week. All white week. Jordan playoff week. Nike basketball. Outlet week. Etc. I go through 100% of my shoes this way. Nothing gets missed
Just got my 5th pair of sneakers today 🫡 I was just a regular 1 pair of airmax type of guy till late last year when the gratitudes dropped. Now I feel like the shoes complete the fits perfectly
1st thing I think is what colour sneakers will best compliment the clothes I'm wearing...so their is a colour flow...or if I'm wearing a monochrome style outfit think of a sneaker that will pop.... 2nd I think of where I'm going and if I'm looking at flexing....my go to here r usually either some luxury kicks like fendi or valentino etc....I'm not into LV as everyone rocks them....or a hyped sneaker that is my style ... I try not to wear what sneakers that when ur out u see lots of other people also wearing .. if not flexing I wear something that matches what I'm wearing and is also comfort focused or suits where I'm going
I have 70ish pairs. 15 of them live in the hallway. Andnonly 2 of them get rotated, during fall and winter its a thick winter shoe and during spring and summer its 2 pairs of very thin running shoes. I have some main picks for walks. Like my most beaten pair, a grey 990v3. Is the pair I grab when the weather is aweful and Im taking the dog out to the forest or park. These are my mud shoes. Another pair of NB For dryer days. 2 pairs of AF1, 1 pair clean and 1 pair pretty dirty. The clean pair is the grab quickly if I have to go out but not for walks pair. I try to keep them clean. The other is not clean, so I dont clean them and I dont check the weather when I put them on. This goes with a bunch of older pairs that I just bought earlier in the journey but have fallen off the "have to stay nice and clean" train. They can be thrown on any time. Sometimes pairs from this rack dont survive. Since they go on hikes and everything. The pairs in the hallway are really there to be beat up. Then there is the ones in the bedroom. They are taken care of. They are clean and get worn with certain outfits. Its about 50 of them. Most pants have 1-2 pairs connected to them. which is usually either a dark or a light colorway, or a warm or cold pair. I hate shorts so most of my pants are long. When I really have to go places, I do mix outfits together and then sneakers roll around between that. But its mostly hallway = pairs that are there to be beaten. If they end up breaking down, its fine. And the bedroom ones are still worn, I dont have any ds (well 1 pair, but summer shoe) shoes. But if they get dirty I clean them and I dont take them to places where I know they will break down faster, like muddy places. This kind of rotation sometimes means that I wear multiple pairs in a day. Like appointment in the morning I have to look nice, so nice bedroom pair. Afternoon going to the forest and its raining, so beater pair (most of the time those poor 990v3's). There is some Gore tex pairs in the hallway for extremely wet weather.. And in the evening I might go out for dinner and have another pair again. Lately Im more careful with adding to the collection. Only get pairs where I think, I want to put this on asap. Ones where I dont need to buy a extra outfit. Shoes that will be loved unconditionally. And by having this way of wearing, the ones that I did like and purchased over the years get worn until beat up and then move out. When I have a pair that I never wear, which has happened for some uncomfortable stuff, or where the sizing was just off enough to make them uncomfortable to me, I usually sell them or give them to friends. Some of my best friends have less budget than me and just happen to have the same shoe size. Like one pair of Adidas was horrible for me, the boost underneath was nice but the sockliner was extremely ill placed for my feet. I had worn them maybe twice. I gave them to a friend and he hasnt worn any other shoes for months. He loves them.
50 pairs in my collection…and I almost always just wear my five most simple and beat up sneakers 😂😂 For me, those are the Air Max one 86 big bubble, 2016 Bred Jordan 1s, Chlorophyll Nike Air Trainer 1, Adidas 4D FWD, and Stan Smiths. My Fire Red 4s are up there as well, and I can already see my most recent pickup in the black and white Converse Weapon easily being my most worn for this year.
I'll be honest, I have way too many pairs of shoes, but only repeat the same 10 pairs for the most part. But this year I am going to take out so many more again, even some I haven't worn in years.
More likely than not I wear my pairs by outfits, I’ll save fits I think I’ll enjoy in my phone notes & just go through pairs I haven’t touched in a while.
I have a picture on my phone with all my shoes on it. They are sorted according to the weather: heat / rain / winter. Taking into account what it's like outside, I only look at a given section. Then I'm thinking in what kind of situation I will be in. If i want/can be fancy, or keep it subdued. A quick look at what will match the clothes I want to wear and from that point on, the decision is pretty much made. 😉

Over 100 pairs and there’s probably just the 3 that I always go to
I am the same way. But this year I am wearing more of my shoes again and taking them out with different fits.
that means that maybe you should get rid of other 97 pairs, or get similar ones to those 3 ;)
I hate to say it but buddy might be right.
Facts. I just need my vomeros for work, my p6000s for walking the dog and errands and white air forces to go out and look presentable lol
You either need to go out more or buy more outfits. got roughly 90-100 pairs and about 20-30 in rotation. I never understood not wearing your shoes if you aren't selling them.

I go seasonal with my rotations plus a few daily drivers that go with everything

Im starting to do this more often, too, since i work an office job, and it's made things a little easier.
Love your idea. Have about 160 pairs and it’s difficult to decide which one to wear..

Kicks are easy for me to pick. And I have a huge catalog to go into. I dont wear stuff multiple times in a year often.

it makes it hard when you have multiple shoes in the same color
Love the the Air force 1 shoes and the stacked shelves to put the shoes
Love this idea! Might have to start keeping the front-door rotation in check like this
It helps when you can actually SEE them. I got rid of 95% of my boxes.
Did you throw the boxes away or keep them?
I’m having this problem right now, don’t know if I should throw the boxes away or store them
I’m having this same conundrum…. The boxes are eating me alive… do yall save the boxes or just toss them??? Lol
For everyone asking, if you have the space store then elsewhere, mine are in the walk in closet on a high shelf. My girlfriends are stacked in her closet. I keep boxes cause if I ever needed to sell something having the OG box adds to it.

Good tip, I’m gonna try it out. And I never seen those AM90s before but I’m calling them the peanut butter and jelly’s 😂👍🏼👍🏼
I have 200 plus sneakers and this will save me a lot of time in the mornings looking for a shoe to wear I'm gonna have to do this great vid. 👏
We need a new Win spring collection drop this year
People who say too many shoes also only own white t shirts and khakis like Jake from State Farm on a day off

The easiest way to decide what shoe to wear is your outfit. Your clothing choice will eliminate 90% of your collection simple.
I use metal wire racks from uline. Real warehouse vibes but i make it work lol.
Good choice, keeps dust off them, I linked a similar one for $49 in the description 👍🏼
That’s a fire deal for everybody. I got lucky by taking an extra from my job.
I try to have a weekly lineup. So I'll do like Air Max week. Og week. All white week. Jordan playoff week. Nike basketball. Outlet week. Etc.

I definitely gotta bring some sneakers out the vault this spring / summer season
Weather, Circumstance, Feeling

I need sneakers for rainy season what do you recommend
That Carhartt chore jacket looks really nice. Where can I find the same colour?
