A few might be able to afford these funerals but very often, because of the pressure from family and society, and the fear of shame, people will borrow money and go into debt. It's ridiculous, obscene and sad!

Our people won't understand you o! We always complain abt politicians without acknowledging the politicians are also products of the bad habits inherent in our culture/environment. Imagine if they used the funds to build a well-resourced learning centre in their community in honour of, and to immortalize, the deceased. That's the difference btn whyt people and us.
