[Plot Introduction/ synopsis]
The play tells the story of the princess Wang Xuan (played by Zhang Ziyi) who has a first love, the third prince Zitan (played by Tony Yang). Wang Xuan was involved in the court battle because of the prophecy of "getting her, getting the world." She became her father's chess piece and married Lord Yuzhang, Xiao Qi (played by Zhou Yiwei), from a humble background. Soon, Prince Helan (played by Yuan Hong) kidnapped Wang Xuan to seek revenge on Xiao Qi. The couple fell in love with each other because of a blessing in disguise. In the end, the couple joined hands to create a new era and guard their homeland's people.

I was annoyed with Su'er, but he isn't a bad guy. He spent his whole life being a disappointment to his father who 'died' tragically, so when he got a second chance to be a son, he wanted to do everything he could to please him. At least he had a line that couldn't be crossed.

Yet, he goes along because he respects how smart his dad is and..Su’er is just a little boy inside who wants the love of his dad and keeps hoping that if he does enough, maybe someday he’ll get it. Huyao and Yuxiu's death are needless sacrifices caused by General Song. I feel so sorry for Xiaoqi and Awu, it's another loss for them.

The day I watched the episode that general song is dreamed about marrying awu, I already knew that he will betray xiao Qi, I’m so sad because general song is one of my favorite here specially while he is willing to die and fight beside awu and xiao qi.
Nah I saw it coming since episode 18 the morning Xiao Qi left Awu in Huizhou to fight against king Jiangnan during the first rebellion. The look on his face when Xiao Qi was leaving on the horse kinda told us he had bad thoughts.

Wang Lin never thought the one he used would back stabbing him. No matter how good Wang Lin is at using people, there is always someone who will out smart him. This is what Wang Lin never thought. The most evil villains is Wang Lin. He caused his wife to kill herself & he had his family head servant killed. The two people his children loved most.

You forget that no matter if she was with her husband in his plot or not she will be killed as a rebel traitor as punishment for his crime, this way she died innocent and her child will be safe.

2.作品人物的刻画，不应该坏人就坏到底这么简单，他们也是有血有肉的人，他们的“坏”只可能表现在某些性格缺陷方面。宋怀恩再坏，也只是在阿妩面前，想显示出自己比萧綦更出色优秀也已，他对宁朔军还是有很深的感情的。如果最后处理上不忍心殺死胡瑤比殺死胡瑤，人物处理上會更丰滿；王蔺也是，坏得有些离譜，妻子自殺，女儿反目，儿子离心，誘杀徐姑姑⋯ 這种一根筋的人會一直在宰相位置上：一人之下 萬人之上？

I wanted the Hu fighting girl to marry the Ping secret agent. She had a heart for righteousness, and fighting spirit, that I think Ping could appreciate. Also, I wanted XQ foster sister to live, too. I know it was not realistic but I think it would be great anyway. I know that the history was changed to make the story more appealing, and I love that they had XQ and Awu have such strong modern views. I also love that they didn't make XQ King.

Suicide is never the way when God gave us life to earn merits through trials and toil. These merits will determine how our life plays out in "Heaven". These merits also determine whether we live in a mansion dressed in golden robes, or remain dressed in poor earthly clothes living eternally in a room.
Satan opposes all things Godly, joyful and gifted. Even "life" itself, and he wants us to believe it brings nothing but misery and grief.
There was no way out for her because she wouldl be executed for her husbnand's crimes that was how it worked at least this way she did not die with the taint of his crimes on her name forever. Her actions cannot be judged by present day rationalizations because the rules that governed her world are not the ones that hold true today.

She seemed to think that her death would sway her husband's decision about rebelling. Yes they did things differently at that time but let's not forget this is a drama and the writers have the power to give her a way out. She is Song's wife but also Xiao Qi's adopted sister and close to Awu. So to write a way out for her was very possible and plausible. It seems to be down to lazy writing. They've instead made her quite irrational and even stupid at the end.Very disappointing.

During these times, to a person with honour, life is secondary to honour. One would rather die with honour than to live a dishonoured life. It’s not suicide for fear of execution. She chose to die than to live a life with her husband however the rebellion turns out.
Finally the empress dowager is dead.. The nerve of that woman.. Awu saved her, xq helped put her son on the throne and she still plotted to kill xq even when they knew xq resigned and will go back to ningshuo

I have a feeling Xiao Qi is going to be king due to the prophecy (u are destined to be king if u marry a woman from the Wang family). They kept mentioning in the early episodes. I could be wrong, but that would be interesting.
It was true history that Xiaoqi became the first king of his dynasty, but not in this drama.

I don't think they made him emperor in this drama due to the fact that in the drama he made a vow that he would only take awu as his wife. An emperor has to have concubines to have more little royals. So they didn't make him emperor based on their love story. I'm guessing in the original story maybe after awu's death he Nad more children with someone else idk I'd have to look up the book this is based off of

Yu Xiu died for nothing Su Yuboai didn’t even love her that’s why he could easily shoot an arrow at her. Long’er mom targeted him because Su was corrupted underneath. The Prince even saved him knowing the officials were bribing him but he’s greedy so sad.
No, she didn't die for nothing. She is innocent, her child is innocent.. but if the rebellion failed, there is no way she and her child will be spared. In the past, there is a crime by connection. And treason is a crime deserves an annihilation of the whole family up to 9th generation. She is not even a royal family nor has a high merit to the court, so there is no way that she could be spared out of pity like Xie hou in the past or the other Wang family member in the past rebellion attempt.
But by suicide at the moment while the whole court and soldiers hearing how she tried to stop her husband, at least she would die innocently and her child will also be safe.
It is often the case in the past when there is a crime in the back palace done that one person would suicide just tfor the sake of rescuing the whole family.

The Wangs are greedy family . They can’t be trusted . Yuxui loves her husband so much that she can leave her child to grow without a mother . What a love to the husband . Btw I see a big difference here when the lord entered the palace with his soldiers the imperial guards run away but with huaien they still have to use that big bar to open the gate. I’m sure princess mentioned this secret passage to huaien before during zilv rebellion .
