  • Busch had announced a "Microtronic for the classroom" in some of their early advertisements for the system (around 1981, 1982?) However, no such system has ever been spotted in the wild, so maybe none were made - at least there is no recorded evidence of such a system. But, it would have been a straight-forward proposition and build as well, as my newly created TIL-393-6 display adapter demonstrates! Here, a large blue display substitutes the tiny bubble display. The Microtronic display driver transistors have no issues driving the more challenging blue 7segment digits; unlike the green and/or red ones, they require a higher voltage to light up (~ 3.4 V instead of ~ 2.4 V), and consume more power as well.

Very neat. Good to see the Microtronic is still working well, and that development continues!
