I remember when I was a kid, we would go sometimes for holidays and shabbat at this sweet old lady's house who fled Iran and her twenties and raised a Jewish family in the US. Now her adult children live abroad, some of them are married and have children. She is a proud, loving grandmother😊 She was so sweet, I remember at some point I started having reactions to wheat so she adjusted the ingredients in her famous Persian meatballs by using oat flour that she would grind up fresh right before making it Friday before Shabbat.
