      Whilst already being toxic.

    • @Argentvs
      @Argentvs 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@quitlife9279 Is not assurance. Being toxic still lets predators to bite you. So they might release the newt, but may have bitten to hard and killed or critically injured it. The newts that posed curved to look big and had the genetic oddity of having the ribs sticking to the side might had an advantage in that the ribs prevented strong bites by causing discomfort or puncturing the predator's mouth prompting a faster release with less damage.
      From there this population survived more than others, reproduced more and pocking out ribs throughout the skin became a thing over generations with the ones with longer ribs surviving more than the others.

    Hello, I realize this video is 2 years old so I will likely not get a response, but, I was wondering if you still know where you got the videos of the newts on board the MIR? I've been attempting to follow the breadcrumb trail through your sources and Google but I'm struggling to find it. This is a wonderfully informative video. I'm researching them for a presentation I may be doing and some of this stuff I hadn't yet heard of so I thank you
