Scott: there's your next book. Take 6 Lead Sheet songs and show us how to trick 'em up like this. Meaning, assume your reader knows what a Bm7#9 is, and go from there. Wow!
Only reason I know is cause I'm an old fart, now, but was one of those guys that played that little silver sparkle Rhodes Piano Bass keyboard with my left hand, like Manzarek. It was handy in bands where the bass player doubled on guitar and sometimes you had to have the two guitar sound. I saw him with it on top of an RMI & even read about him talking about his rig(s). Vox's were big, though, for sure - specially with Brit groups. ...Peace, Bro!
LOL, 7:01 sounds like two notes of a detuned fm synth melody, from some generic electro house track thumbs up if you're an EDM producer & you noticed that & got a dorky chuckle out of it like me
woord? yeea if thissz wuz piano i don't kno why i got mad at them fo no vox organ, if they weren't using an organ sample or sum other organ sound/keyboard
At 09:59 it is not a minor chord, it´s a major one. All in all the piano player does not make the best impression to me. But that´s all the same with musicians that are chosen by big electronic companies to feature their instruments. Those companies normally are managed by guys who don´t have a clue about music.
yeah i too, just took chemistry class for the first time this summer, and i already have a patent sent in for a formula that turns both lead, AND carbon, into gold humans are idiots for not being able to figure this simple shit out for the last 10,000 years >_>
By the way, you're wrong - it's a first inversion gb minor chord. Just so you know, if it's David Benoit telling me it's minor, and you telling me it's major - I'll believe David.
You gotta be joking, really? Do you know who it is playing the piano? Do you know some of the great stuff he's not only written but played? No. Thought not.
Piano is so beautiful. :)
Lovely arrangement, beautifully played - very helpful for learning purposes!
Holy s**t what a performance of the song at the end of the video!
This tune sounds spooky and hot!!
Thank you very much. That have helped me alot.

He;s a great Pianist, David Benoit
It was an RMI Piano (Rocky Mountain Instruments)..
correction-it was a Vox Continental organ.
Come on, we all know that really the special guest shoulda been Ray Manzarek.
IF YOU COULD JUST FOR ONE MOMENT LIGHT SOMEONE'S FIRE ! WHAT WOULD IT BE WITH ........... STICK MATCHES ? BIC ? ZIPPO ?
that was awesome, phenominal even. but just one thing. I can tell by the way you played it that you never took lsd

Staying on G in the intro kind of defeats the iconic sound but I guess to each his own.
David is amazing in general but the intro was a dud....sorry
