    honestly!!! haejin framing it as these are your best colours instead of just these are your colours helped me with a lot of my issues with colour analysis. it never really sat right with me that people just get boxed into certain colours, especially when their closet is the opposite colours, because sometimes what is flattering isn't what people strive for, they just want to look a specific way. so this reframing of yes you can and should wear whatever is in your closet, but suppliment it with what you learnt today feels a lot more of a focus on personal style and also not just throwing out everything that you own. because while yeah, becky and matt were joking about it, it is not sustainable nor super conducive to look at what your instincts are with styling yourself and just backing against that.
    sorry for the rant i just have lots of feelings about colour analysis and this video was probably one of the first ones i really enjoyed (not that i have seeked out a lot of videos about the topic lmfao)

      This was exactly the issue I had when I did my colour analysis in Korea!! I was asking my consultant about how I could wear cooler colours even though I was an Autumn tone (I love warmer mauves and lavender, my wardrobe also has a lot of grey blues like what haejin is wearing simply because my favourite colour is Blue). She basically insinuated that I shouldn't bother with cool tones because they won't look good on me. Though my consultant wasn't wrong per se because I definitely looked the best with colours like warm rose pinks and tan beige browns, it just felt very one dimensional and rigid.
      Haejin is definitely one of the better colour analysis consultants out there and her expertise is way more dynamic that a lot of the colour analysis consultants I've come across on the nets.

      Yep, but with far more advanced systems! In the 80s it was four seasons based on what you look like rather than how colors react with your skin in-person. We have also updated the seasons from four to twelve, with 4 "true" seasons and 8 "neutral" seasonal blends. About 80% of people are neutral seasons with either their value or chroma landing in one of the extremes.

    The thing is if you want to wear the opposite colors of your pallete you will highlight contrast and that can be fashionable too. The color scheme analysis creates harmony with your features, but you can wear outfits to stand out with impact. Like a warm tone black woman wearing a bright pink dress. Theres nothing wrong with it.

    I love that you got your colors done! Knowing your best colors is such a game changer and almost like a cheat code when shopping for clothes or makeup. Plus it always feels nice when you start getting compliments from random strangers when your colors are on point.
    The interesting thing with color is that is three-dimensional, with hue (warm/cool), value (light/dark), and chroma (bright/soft) all playing essential roles. The "settings" of each of the three dimensions are like a synthesizer, so if you move one, the other two automatically adjust.
    One of the most important things to remember if you are looking to get your colors done is that it isn't about what you look like and overtone is different from undertone. This means it is about how colors react in-person with your skin, rather than focusing on what you "should" be based on your skin/eye/hair color. This also means not to get caught up in your overtone. For example, it is super common to have "warm" golden or olive skin and a neutral-cool or cool undertone. So don't waste your time looking at veins or getting too worked up about silver vs gold. Most people are one of the 8 neutral seasons aka season blends (the Brights - BW and BSp, Lights - LSp and LSu, Softs - SA and SSu, and Darks - DW and DA) can wear both if the right depth and finish. 💜

    I might be screaming into the void here, but this is NOT A PODCAST! I loved the video…but this is a video. I did move to TH-cam and watch it, but it’s really frustrating. They keep saying “sorry tot be audio listeners,” but that is the literal goal function of a podcast. It’s not a video!

      The actual analysis wasn’t in the podcast version. They only talk about the process and then explain that they didn’t put in actual analysis in because wouldn’t work well audio only. They skip over to discussion of the session.

Also, what can be done to help clients who are color blind? Keep up the awesome work. And, take care. 💙

    Color analysis seems like such a ripe off honestly. Fashion is suppose to be about expressing yourself. Its odd to put rules on something so creative.

    • @fionag7893
      @fionag7893 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      It's not about adding rules or limiting expression - it's simply helping give people some clarity and direction about what colors flatter their complexion. Which in turn helps reduce overconsumerism and overspending on clothes that people don't end up wearing because they liked something in the store but can't pinpoint why it never really looks that good on themselves. Usually that's because when they go to put it on, it's the color making them look sallow. Having clarity on one's color season can help people to tailor their wardrobe accordingly. Which in turn can help open up someone's sense of personal style and playfulness with color and expression, after getting some confidence that they can branch out beyond their comfort zone or neutrals. She gives great advice in this video that anyone can use at home - it'd be a good activity to do with friends since it's easier to be more objective about someone else.
