- I've recently unearthed my old live music collection after being in storage for the last 12 years. More than 10,000 recordings of blues, jazz, rock, reggae, country western, bluegrass, and music from around the world.
I'll be uploading the best ones to this channel, starting with this lovely 1991 Country Night broadcast from Gstaad, Switzerland. I don't think it's already available on TH-cam.

In September 1991 Emmylou Harris & The Nash Ramblers were in Kerkrade, Holland. I was there with some friends in the Rodahal. It was an unforgettable concert and also a special evening for me. For the local newspaper you had to answer some questions about Emmylou. As award I had won her new released cd "Brand New Dance", personally signed by Emmylou herself...

Simple, straightforward, clean as a whistle on a high speed train running across Nevada. The band is great, and she is such a gift to a ballad; she can make it cry or make it bleed. Hard to believe that was over 30 years ago. Gram Parsons did the West and the whole world a huge favor by bringing her into a studio just before he passed, sadly. People that earned those cowboy boots ans capos. God bless 'em every one!

All I can hear in my head when ELH is mentioned is my wife's friend bellyaching about how Harris stole her husband away...this being way way back in the sixties she was married to ol' what's his name, Gram Parsons..now this gal who lost her husband was declared in 1966 by Life magazine to be the most beautiful girl in the world so it wasn't Harris's looks that snared her husband..it was her talent..so for decades we never mentioned Emmy Lou Harris's name so to speak and to this day I doubt I have heard more than 2 or three of her records..and I had a career as a musician..so it goes. She's good tho...that's true.
The man died very young and still married almost 50 years ago. Boulder to Birmingham came from a place of love, what kind is nobody's business.

Something I notice is Sam keeps looking at her and she is not giving up that connection. That was her personal feeling. So you can tell.
