Three points IMHO. One, the price of quality stands should be included in a budget, two, once you place bookshelf speakers on standa, they kind of take up as much space as floorstanders and three, if we compare quality brand floorstanders against their smaller bookshelf versions (same brand, same model line), floorstanders will almost always win out...again IMHO. I dont want to buy floor standing speakers for my onkyo av receiver (space and regular shifting constraints). I have onkyo skf370 front L and R and skf370c centre speaker.. will replacing then with bookshelf speakers like polk T15 and centre with polk T30 be a good upgrade? Please suggest

Hi Tanmay I was really surprised that inspite of being an audio enthusiast how did i miss your channel. As of stuff, i had a Sony MHC RV5 which got conked off years ago, then i had purchased a Sony MHC GNZ5D which has almost all input sources like Audio Cassettes, 3 disc changer, AM, FM, USB Drive, Aux In Mic In (for Karaoke) This setup i use for my Stereo listening. I have a 55inch Samsung with Sony HT IV-300 AV Reciever combo which is a 5.1 channel Receiver. I also own a Bose Revolve 2 for my music on move. Use Sennheiser headphones for personal listening. But... somehow somewhere the Audiophile inside me is still craving for purity. I came across Denon RCD N9 its a stereo amp with huge Networking features, but it doesn't come with bundle speakers so i was planning to pair them with Polk T15. Wanted to know how will this combo work. As i stay in Jamshedpur where ppl do not have exposure to Hi Res audio. Can u plz suggest whether my Denon RCD-N9 + Polk T15 will work good for me?

It's a myth that floorstanders are better than bookshelves, for a decent quality floorstander even for music need a good budget atleast 1.5 - 2L a pair. Also no floor stands are full range, so in both the cases good quality subwoofers are a must. If it's for movies, they are kind of waste, a good speaker that can cleanly produce up to 60 or 70hz is far far better than a floor stander, coz the calibration is done in such a way that it's cutoff at higher freqs than its capable of so that the subs can reproduce those freqs better. So invest in subwoofers than a floorstander. The result will be far better. Floorstanders has many other limitations too for using in a theater
If you have the space, floorstanders will always beat bookshelf speakers. Simple test, take a decent brand like Q Acoustics, do a listening test on the floorstander versus the bookshelf in the SAME SERIES...

I think it’s worth to atleast upgrade to Monitor XT series in Polk

Polk ES 15 and ES 20 are good ones! If you need confusion then look for Elac Debut B6.2 or Q Acoustics 3030i
