HI! I was just wondering, do you need to study fashion before uni, or do you need to come a little prepared? Do they teach you enough to know everything or is it like the final sort of thing to top off your education?
Hi Akkila, Before studying at LCF I knew nothing about Fashion other than what I see on the magazines and was just a high school student but I did study a one year diploma at their Camberwell Campus! The more you absorb and apply what they teach the better your experience will be. It can be both a lot of my classmates were very well educated and even shot for Vogue. It can be for a newbie like me or a veteran like my classmates as a top off to give you some edge on your resume. Thank you for your comment! Shan xx
This video was so helpful! Thank you for that! So if I understood everything right you did foundation first before the BA? Did you find it difficult to get in? I'm applying this fall so I'm a bit nervous and looking through all the videos I can find xx
Yes I was very nervous, your portfolio is very important. That is what my interview was focused on! Take time to develop your signature style, have friends and family go through your photography and pick out the strong works!
Loved the video! Can’t wait for the next one! I’m from London & went to school in London as well, so I’m planning to go abroad maybe Paris/NYC for my MA. I want an experience abroad. 💕
Oh cool! Where did you study? I miss London so much you have no idea... Where do you reside now? I loved being abroad, it made me grow into the person I am today and really broadened my horizons :). Thank you for the comment! Shan xx
Shannon Tao I went to CSM! I saw in your other comments that you did your one year at Camberwell. I live quite close to Camberwell! I’m still in London. I’ve been freelancing and applying for masters but COVID19- who knows what is happening with admissions 😂😂. I’m so happy you loved your time in London. 💕💕 can’t wait for the next video
just wanted to ask, what do you need in your portfolio to increase your chances of being accepted? i’m in year 13 rn, and i’m applying to uni’s and honestly lcf is my dream school and i want to study fashion pr and communications, but im not sure what experience i need or what to put in my portfolio to increase my chances because it’s a very competitive university!
Hi I’m going into year 11 so I’m wondering is it a collage and a university or just a university because I’m thinking of going after year 11 and I’ve just been confused about it.
Well in London/UK, correct me anyone if I'm wrong. But my understanding is that its interchangeable where as in North America University has more of a "higher stature" compared to colleges as they often refer to community and technical colleges. Nothing, absolutely nothing wrong with either. My school was under the umbrella of University of the Arts London which encompasses London College of Fashion. So I guess it could be both.. hope that helped lol! Shan xx
Yes pretty chilled out for the most part lol except the 10,000 word dissertation for my last year. It can be academically quite rigorous, depends on what grade you want, when I tried really hard for certain semesters I did feel like I got more out of the curriculum. We go through Styling and production somewhat but mainly theory about how to think about photography and really dig deep into research and concept.. ? I hope that helps haha! Shan xx

Do this college offer bachelors in menswear fashion design??
Hey are all the courses at lcf chilled out? More specifically fashion styling and production?
