Welcome to always to be thinking about your pet for the rest of its life haha. Pets are a beautiful gift. I got my labradoodle at 3 months old. Best decision I've ever made. He is now 9. Besy guy ever.

Im so happy for you, tomorrow i am travelling across scotland to pick up my little girl who is a 14wk ragdoll called "Tora". Oh a got a few tips, #1. Dont punish him, if he is doing somthing wrong, pick him up and take him to another position and instantly distract him with somthing he likes ie feathers.#2.Slow blink is a good way to affirm actions ie. When he does the " 100 yard stare " in the litter tray, give him a slow blink, its like saying "well done darling " or a slow blink when he is looking at you like saying "i love you" #3. Tail singing... when he is drifting off to sleep gentaly take the tip of his tail and sing a song to the mic. He will fall asleep but thinking of you. Best of luck, hope everything goes good with him, but also with your studys.
He is stunning! Looks a lot like our Siberian when he was a kitten. Siberians are an amazing breed(my mom was allergic) also I love his name!

There’s technically no such thing as a hypoallergenic cat as what people are allergic to is a protein that all cats no matter the breed produce in their saliva called FEL1D and because cats lick themselves to groom the protein ends up in their fur and dander and that is what people are allergic to. There are waterless dander sprays that neutralize the protein that you can brush on the hair but there is also food from Purina that uses special chicken eggs that also neutralize the protein in the saliva. Every cat produces a different amount of the protein so while you might be allergic to some cats you might not be allergic to others because they may produce less of the protein. With all that said there are certain breeds known to produce low levels of the protein like Siberian cats however every cat does produce the allergen so technically no cat is “hypoallergenic”

Vaako is very cute. Fisher toys are fun. I understand the basic idea of adopt, don’t shop, but I think some people too rigid in this idea. I’ve gotten some cats I’ve owned from breeders, I’ve gotten some cats from pet store/shelter connected adoption programs, I’ve gotten some from people who just had a cat that had babies

Soooo cute 🥰. I have a Himalayan and Scottish mix. I’m a new cat mom not that new I’ve had my Halsey Blu for a year in August she was 3 months old when I got her. She’s now 1yrs old she turned 1 in May. I’m still researching cause I don’t know much about cats. I grew up with dogs. But she’s my baby girl and I just love her.

I was looking into the Siberian breed bc my mom is allergic, I’m just not sure if she will do well, also i live in a house with dogs so that’s a bit hard.

Looks just like my cat when he was a kitten omg. Mine unfortunately has passed away now, but isn’t this breed and colour just the cutest ever 🥰 grey siberian cats are superior. I was lucky to have found him at a shelter!

Great job, very informative and I dont even have a cat. I need one. Im in a dark place. Their a lot of responsibility. Especially when you don't even take care of yourself most of the time. I love furbabies though. You are very blessed.. wish I was young again.😭

Its the protein in a cats saliva that causes allergic reaction…so there is no hypoallergenic cats…only ways for the owner to have less symptom, such as taking allergy medicine, or there is a cat food you can buy that is supposed to reduce allergies after it has eaten it for several werks.
There are no "hypoallergenic" animals...however there are animals that produce small amounts of the protein that can cause allergies. I myself suffer with allergies & asthma and can only be around animals that are considered "hypoallergenic". While married I got (2) miniature schnauzers (hypoallergenic) a year after my daughter was born and never had one issue with allergies and did not have to take any allergy medicine.

@@robinbrown7953 This is true, I am unfortunately allergic to a lot and this includes many foods. Luckily, we've had our newest little addition since Dec 10th and no allergy issues to date! 🙌🏾
I forgot... lots and lots oh names, ie fluffy McGuffy,floof,goof, Stinky-McGinky i call my little boy "Ghost" but only in the dark and i cant see him (he is black) and he gives a little yawn and i can see his little pink mouth, he is sleeping no my bed with one foot reaching out to touch my leg.

Important question. What symptoms do you have when you’re allergic to cats? Like what symptoms have you had before? And how are they now with this kitten? (I’m trying to convince my mom to get a Siberian and I need other cat allergic ppl experiences with Siberians 😭)

I asked which diseases the kittens & their parents are screened for, whether the kitten is spayed/neutered prior to pick up, whether the kitten is microchipped

We got ares 4 months after having to put are girl down han 13th after rushing her to the vet new years eve 2023 so then I lost two loved one 10 days apart to didn't have a great start to 2023 till now
