Serbians who took down the F117 in the Nato-Serbia War ... were turning on their targeting radar 17 seconds at a time, to prevent anti-radiation jamming or targeting. They got lucky, catching the F117 during one of those radar bursts.
We (Ukraine) sometimes attacks Russia's military bases and Russia's military vehicles on Russia territory, but only with ours weapons (we can't use foreign weapons to do that). And we have never gone on Russia's territory
28:00 Ukraine attacks kinda regularly Belgorod which was a supply chain focal point for northern donbass. They can do it because it's retailation for their attack, but they are not setting foot on russian ground for sure
The effect of losses in a war are only as bad as your ability to replace them from storage or producing new ones, Russia discovered early on when requesting reinforcements that even though half a million armaments were paid for, they weren't made! This also happened when they mobilised 300,000 men recently and discoverd the same had happened with uniforms and supplies for the new troops...the warehouse was empty! Corruption is rife there.
One way to imagine this offensive is that you are Russia and are playing a RTS game with fog-of-war on, while Ukraine is a player that can see the entire map and click on specific coordinates to get a pinpoint, precision hit on that dot. How well could you manage? Now, imagine that you are also drunk, the network has 2 minute latency and it is fairly accurate facsimile of the Russian commanders and their command chain during Kharkiv offensive: every time you see a report it is too late to plan for a counter cause the situation has already changed.
28:43 Our command is constantly asking partners for long-range missiles for 200-400 km. But no one gives them to us. But the Russian orcs are constantly shelling us from the Caspian and Black Seas. They hit peaceful cities, but we only hit bases ... and then, mainly on our territory. We can hit military targets near Belgorod with rockets, but that's only because it's close. We do not reach the rest of the territory of Muscovy. And it turns out somehow not fair .. they shoot us, but we cannot answer.
Hey! I am actually from Ukraine AND from Kryviy Rih,and live near the river. not directly, but it is literaturally a five minute walk from mu house down the street, and when the damb was blown up,i saw one of the nearby houses almost consumed by water. that was scary, but fortunatly, the next day the water was gone.
Gas from the US is LNG (Liquified Natural Gas) - For LNG you need special terminals (Gas Pipeline connected to a special De-liquifying ship where the LNG Tankers can unload their LNG) in Europe that doesn't exists in high value. Currently some of these Terminals are build but the special ships to load the LNG from the US Tankers, vaporize the liquid gas and pull it into the European gas pipeline network are rare and needed everywhere in the world. And building such a ship needs years.
Spain has six LNG terminals. All that is needed is a 100 mile pipeline from Spain crossing into France.(and the rest of Europe) Except for some weird reason, France does not want that.
11:35 i am living in Kriviy Rih,and i remember that, that was pretty scary, water started to raise really fast, and some houses went underwater, but thank to our city's government, dam was fixed really quickly ❤️
Crimea and Ukraine mainland are connected basically via two narrow paths. It is marshland. There is one long chain of sand banks at the shores of Azov Sea, which is quite easy to block or blow up. Then there is a land connection in the west side of the isthmus, near the sea. It has more width and can't be so easily blocked but it will be difficult to get pass those natural obstacles.
But Ukraine still uses its own Vilha MLRS(with 70 km and 130 km range), Verba MLRS, other Soviet launchers, and Tochka-U ballistic missiles, and homemade kamikaze drones to strike military targets within Russia. There is also couple of test launchers of Grim-2 ballistic missile with 500km range, but I havn't seen clear evidences about it's usage, maybe it was used for the strike at Saki Airbase.
When it comes to the losses and how to look at it. I understand why you think that an attacker will lose more but it entirely depends in the situation. look at the losses of this video and keep in mind that this time it was Ukraine attacking Russian positions. and yet the Russians lost about 10 times more than the Ukrainians did. It depends on many factors. One is how well trained or motivated the crews are. A tank is a lot easier to destroy/capture when the crew decides they don't want to fight and surrender/ leave the tank and retreat/dessert. Another thing to think about: When attacking an enemy that is well prepared, using good defendable positions and that stands their ground it is much more likely that the attacker will lose more (the situation Russia was in the first few months). However if you attack someone and manage to break through their line. you can then Surround units, attack them in the back, attack them while they are retreating, attack repair depots or other army bases where they don't expect you. In these cases it is extremely likely that the attacker will actually destroy/capture more stuff then the defender will. (This is what happened in Kharkiv for the Ukrainians)
The Russian losses are heavy, they lost more MBT's than what UK, Germany and France have in total combined (total is under 1000 MBT) to set the numbers in perspective. It will take time for Russia to replace the equipment losses and troop casualties.
general winter will work for the side with the best winter gear, warm food and medical aid. Logistics wins wars, and I believe that Russia has demonstrated they cant maintain logistics when the conditions arn't optimal
One of main reasons many european countries don't want to buy excessive amount of gas by Usa its mainly because of its price and distance. For many bug european economies its way more convenient buying gas from african and middle eastern countries, while for smaller european countries, they basically just depends on their neighbors and the easiest routes, which would be of course to asia and africa then across the ocean to america
As long as Russia still has anti aircraft and anti missile capability in the occupied areas, Ukraine will only get the shorter range HIMARS missiles. Longer range missiles are more prone to detection. A single longrange missile costs 1 million dollars, ten times more than the shorter range ones, and can be fired only one at a time. Retired General Ben Hodges said that last week. He expects Ukraine to disable Russian air defenses the coming months.
the russians probably feel like the americans felt after the vietcont kicked their ass so hard out of vietnam they had to evacuate by helicopters because ships was to slow ... oh wait jaeh no one told the americans how hard they lost xD and the same is with russia they aint told
To each their own but I don't get why you wouldn't just watch a 10 minute video every day from somebody on youtube that follows the conflict. It's not that hard to stay up to date on this if you care for it. An organized defense can limit losses. Not conscripts with basically 0 training, no command structure, little supplies, etc.
There were working pipelines through Ukraine, so the Russian Federation built a bypass to Germany and appointed former German chancellor Gerhard Schroeder as director of the northern stream. This was calculated in advance, now ask me why Germany is so difficult to help Ukraine?
this is one of the strangest war of the history of the world, because urkaine and russia are at war, but ukraine HAS to stop at the russian border ... attaking russia territory would probalby make the west stop send weapons and also risk nuclear reactions ... its so strange to be in a war and not being able to attack the other sides main territory if ukraine fires rockets into russia, they might get send nuclear rockets back
I understand you when you don't quite understand what and where it is, and Ukrainians are better oriented to the area. Russians know Ukraine even worse, this is one of the factors why Ukrainians use it.
about weapons! Yes, Ukraine has lost less - because it is difficult to lose what you do not have !!! it is because of this that we constantly ask for weapons !!! because the enemy cannot be driven out with sticks !!! so I would like to take this opportunity to ask - please give us weapons, tanks, fighters, long-range missiles !!!! and thanks for the support of ukraine!!! we are very grateful!!!
An anti-radiation missile is a missile designed to detect and home in on an enemy radio emission source.
