One day I was exhausted and started crying in a bathroom stall in the office building I worked at, super early in the morning. A stranger from another business in the building came in and, no hesitation, asked if I was okay and if I wanted a hug, and a big long hug was exactly what I wanted, and she held me and soothed me and then I thanked her and we went back to our days. The women's room is a magical place.

I don't even think she's particularly pretty. If you asked me to pay attention I'd say yes she's attractive, but pretty isn't the first thing that would come to mind. She's certainly not attractive enough for it to define her entire persona.

The fact that the coffee shop girl claimed she wasn't taking too many videos, but then proceeds to show us that she did take MANY videos kills me. Classic denial, ha! 🙄
She also filmed in the bathroom, which is illegal in some places! To clarify, it was a multi-stall public bathroom, not just a single toilet one. This woman is the bane of my existence. Her delusion and entitlement haunt my dreams 💀 this video is just the tip of the insufferable iceberg.

Additionally, businesses can make rules for anyone that isn't 'unreasonable' and can apply to only one person. This is why they can trespass a person for no reason.
Exactly what I thought. Influencing is a job because they earn money, so what made her think that she can piggyback off the people who actually pay rent. Even if she buys a coffee, it is still a bit of a risk because I wouldn't visit places where I know the chances are likely I'll be in the background of someone's reel looking like a troll 😅

I wonder if it ever occurred to the "coffee shop" girl that the shop might be almost empty a lot of times because of her. Because seriously,. if I go to a coffee shop and upon entering I see some grown ass woman dancing and filming herself, I would just leave. other people being on their phones and laptops is completely different than someone seemingly constantly filming and doing all those movements.
This is very likely it. They might’ve even complained to the management that they’re leaving and she’s why. So they finally said something.

Me too! I'd leave in a flash! And it looks like one of those 'open space'/hard surface cafes where sound really travels.
And yammering into her phone for hours. I can handle people talking and such for a few moments (think bus rides to work), but I don't want to hear someone yammering or playing music I am not a fan of for the time I am there. I would leave asap so yeah, I don't blame the company, in fact, I would go a couple of times more just to back that business up as a thank you.

So she was mad because they told her to leave and that she can't film there anymore because she was trying to film tiktoks in the Cafe after closing.

I don’t really “follow” any influencers so have no idea who these people are but one of my clients is an influencer and I just want to say, they’re not all like this. She is one of the sweetest, most down to earth people I know. I promise they’re not all corrupt
Exactly! My sister is a very popular influencer, has been for quite a while. She started on MySpace if that gives you an idea of how long she's been doing this. She is the most generous, kind-hearted person and I'm not just saying that because she's my sister. They definitely aren't all bad! 💜

I compare that to the time in 1978 when I was 17, about to get on a plane at DFW with the other members of my high school drama club. This was our Senior trip, we were about to spend a whole week in NYC, had tickets to FOUR top Broadway shows (two were Tony award winners). To say we were a very excited group of teens walking to our gate would be an understatement. We probably looked and sounded like a pack of hyperactive spider monkeys!
We reached our gate, and my friend Mike gasped, grabbed my arm and looked like he was going to cry. Then I saw why! There was a Legend sitting there, Broadway royalty, and in 1978 if you asked just about anyone who the most famous Broadway actress is, they'd most likely say, "Carol Channing!! OMG! It's HER!"
She looked radiant, and when our boldest classmate approached her to tell her that we are all drama students who adore her, and want to BE her, she flashed her famous grin and motioned for the rest of us chattering primates to come over. What a brave woman! 😂
She was so sweet! I thought she would tell us to go away, but she asked us what plays we were going to see and seemed genuinely interested. When she heard we would be attending Bob Fosse's show "Dancin'" she beamed. It was her current favorite show, and she's right. It did not disappoint! I still have my t-shirt and Playbill from that show.
For us, Carol Channing was the epitome of class and kindness. I've met a few celebrities since, but none like her. She took time listening to us as if we mattered!
Of course, it's just that the horrible ones usually get more attention. There will always be some bad eggs in the bunch

The humming in the bathroom would freak me out. In my mind, nothing is supposed to disturb the monastic silence of the restroom. Like, I used to be embarrassed when I peed and it made a sound. I was nervous to use the toilet at all if anyone else was in the bathroom.

I enjoy yt and tiktok because it’s entertaining and allows those with talent to share their creativity with others. But then there’s the side with those who are not ugly, to do the bare minimum to get the attention they think they deserve. How would she even know if other people were just being allowed to record all over the shop? The owners could very well have said something to anyone else treating it as their personal studio as well. There is a huge difference between videoing a shot of your coffee (do people even do that any more?) and standing up and doing a whole dance. Also, it sounds like she's the sort who hangs out until the last possible minute and has to be told that they are closing down.

The coffee shop girl reminds me of a customer that would frequent my store back when I worked at Starbucks. He had the worst ego, and would do lives in the store in the middle of the day. He’d already been banned from multiple stores in our district, and in others for his attitude. The final straw was when he cussed out my coworker, because she turned the volume up on the music so she could hear a song she liked while sweeping the lobby. I already didn’t like him, but when she came to the back sobbing, that was it for me. I got her to tell me exactly what happened, then I filled out an incident report for her, and the shift on duty called the manager. She didn’t even turn up the volume that much, it had just been a little lower than normal and she increased it to what it was normally at. Every worker in the store had to write a report of the events that happened, so that our district manager could use it to file a police report against him.

I followed her from that channel, and I can't even remember the name of the channel because I stopped watching it pretty much the moment it was public news that she had her own YTube channel where she was making content. 💀 I remember watching that channel for a little bit of time but I just didn't care for it anymore and gravitated towards Charlotte's style and attitude. Been watching the videos faithfully ever since. ❤

I vividly remember the backlash celebrities and rich people had when they complained about being stuck in place with COVID. It really showed how our view twisted on them.

Multiple issues like pay and health arose. Some people were only a paycheck away from being homeless. When on lockdown, were these folks getting paid? Probably not. Though the government provided some financial support, some people still lost out on their homes, jobs, or other things.
On health, some workers were considered "necessary" during lockdown, though it's clear that they weren't. Companies wanted to continue operating regardless of the health risks involved. As the numbers go, about a million have lost their lives to COVID in the US alone.
While celebrities complained or put up "inspirational" videos to prompt people to donate to a charity during COVID, they didn't seem to comprehend what everyone else was going through and what they had probably lost during lockdown. It makes sense that people reacted negatively.

I was once in a Home Depot, in my husband’s ratty old shirt, covered in barnacle goo, hair in a bandana and bare face complete with goggle marks (to protect eyes from said goo) and had a guy hit on me. Criminals target people, not based on looks but more on where they are looking, awareness and all.

8:00 I literally spent the past 8 years in a $500 apartment (well now it's like 1500) In the worst ghetto of one of the worst cities in Southern California. Like gunshots through the wall and having to replace my window at least twice a year. Like I've gotten mugged gunpoint three times living in the area. If I had a friend that cried because she got a $15,000 apartment I would probably just jump off the balcony involuntarily at that point cuz I couldn't take it.
But why jumping off balcony thoughts instead of trying to explain it to your friend thoughts? If someone grew up rich and all they lived in was rich neighbourhoods, is it their fault or does it make them bad people? Yes, they might not automatically "get it" that other situations are much worse, but how are they supposed to know? Watching the news isn't the same as talking to someone you know. You probably watch world news sometimes, and to me $500 for an apartment per month sounds like either a big apartment or a luxurious neighbourhood, and that's even in the biggest city here. $500 is around an average monthly salary in my country - a big amount to pay for rent only. But I don't think you were trying to offend me or be tone-deaf, we just happen to live in different economic situations. I mean, you've explained the difficult situation you were living it pretty well in just a couple of sentences - why not explain the same thing to a potential friend?
