I'm making a Koma deck. Not only because it's an awesome card but because it's based off jormungandr who is one of my favorite mythological creatures. I'm doing the same for Serulf with Fenrir
I'm very new to EDH/MTG and got started with the "Spirit Squadron" commander box. I didn't know they had a Norse myth lineup! I'm so going to make both of those decks now! If you have any recommendations please let me know! :)
karns temporal sundering is a great card with the deck too. remove something silly on the field that hinders koma then take an extra turn for 6. spicy indeed .
I’m building a Koma clones deck. Early game copy good stuff from everyone else and then get new Sakashima out and then copy Koma. Lots of upkeep triggers.
Far from budget commander, but Koma is kinda nice! I hope for more reprints of double tokens or new cards in the same way. Don't forget "Double Major" and "Spark Double" in this deck ^.^
you should add Brudiclad if you can find a way to make a token copy of koma then you can turn all your serpent tokens into koma making your boardstate insane if you even just have 4 serpent tokens
@@TheGirthiestSausage if you have brudicald as commander or koma as commander you can’t use them vice versa, koma Is Green Blue, Brudiclad and Is Red Blue
My koma deck slaps all I run is clones so ramp out koma and make copies and get 3 or 4 tokens each upkeep and lock down the board then attack through with triump of the hordes or some other mass pump
I disagree. Aesi is not a better substitute for a koma deck. Koma has a go wide strat that has synergy with serpent/sea monster tribes. Aesi is a lands matters deck. And an inferior one to tatyova even.
Kinda wish they did the same errata they did for dogs and make all snakes count as serpents too. As for this commander, he’s very good but he doesn’t excite me to much to build around. I WOULD love to put this in my Xyris snake tribal deck tho, except it makes serpents...which somehow aren’t snakes too lol. Great video though Joel! Also, WHY do they ignore certain color pairs?? There’s TWO sonic commanders in this set so far but I can’t remember the last time we got a solid selesnya commander. Thanks for all your work!

I plan on running Sakashima and sakashima’s will so I can spam Koma copies and his upkeep ability.

It’s silly that Serpent Generator and Snake Basket make “snakes” that don’t count as “serpents”
I get that they want “Serpent” to mean “Sea Serpent”, but c’mon the card is named “Serpent” Generator
even more silly since serpent is really just another word snake, I think it comes from Latin or Greek. Dog vs Hound is also a thing in Magic.
Maybe they are eels.

I actually don't like this one as a commander. It's very selfish. I use it in my adrix and nev deck though.
