I just bought the 2021 springfield dark horse in sagebrush smoke green, going on 2 months now and I am in love with it, and this is from someone riding sportbikes since 2010. Planning on putting on the stage 1 cam upgrade on it very soon.
@@thatoneguymoto well I'm actually planning on more longer trips this year. I'm already getting up there in age (35) so can't really do it on a sportbike anymore. Just the other day i did a 4 to 5 hour trip on the springfield and i wasn't fatigued at all. Maybe next year I'll get another sportbike again, I'll have to wait and see.

The Challenger was REALLY nice. For me personally, though, it's just a bit too much bike. I prefer the Chief and the Springfield, both in size and aesthetically. And, price wise, the Chief just offers more bang for the buck, IMO. Of course, all have their merit for what a rider's primary use for the bike is going to be, but for my purposes, I'd go for the Chief Dark Horse.
On a cruiser, you'll get better MPG if you shift between 2000-2500 RPM. But yeah, 3500 is fine for the engine, and newer bikes like this one have a kind of governor built in the only allows you to rev to a certain RPM and then it backs off automatically.

I am sure its a great bike but pricewise its around the same as a Roadking Special with the 114 and that what its going head to head with...
