    Great video, learned a lot! Thank you! 🔥🔥The weird clean and press is just me messing around - I like to do them quickly so it kind of looks like a snatch but it’s very much a press there. The wrist bands are actually because I badly broke my wrist as a kid. I also just like wearing them - I wear them all day. It’s a fashion choice, certainly 😂
    Awesome explanation of the sport style. Keep up the epic work, I’ll be tuning in 💪🏻

      … no. I prefer your interpretation of the hardstyle swing to Gregory’s Peewee Herman style swing. I stopped the video @5:20. You carry yourself with class, as always, but our humble host here goes at the throats of other content creators for click bait. I don’t think it’s warranted, I believe he is likely a competent trainer who’d go father creating content that isn’t slimy, and that said, I think your content is *infinitely* more valuable. And Pavels. And Dan John’s. And Steve Maxwell’s. And he’s clearly burnt bridges with each of them being slimy. Best wishes.

      @@warrenellis1023 Did you think at all before making those comments? Its obvious that you have some sort of resentment towards Gregory and that you are willing to twist the truth to have a stab at him. You are plain wrong that that he has burned bridges with Pavel. If you used your loaf at all you would realise that Pavel is so MEGA now that he wouldn't even know who Gregory is or have even have seen his utube channel. Its like saying Scooby the Bodybuilder has burned bridges with Ronnie Coleman....good grief!!🙄 He interviewed Dan John two years ago and Dan came back for another interview a year later.....don't sound like he was buring bridges there either or that you did your research? 🤷‍♂ And nearly all utubers are looking for clicks and subscribers including The Bioneer, so I don't get your point in coming down hard on Gregory for doing the same thing? I do agree that The Bioneer has class and is a humble man and I like his channel. I like also when he said that he learned a lot and thanked Gregory. Shows that he isn't mean and closed minded like yourself bro and that he is still teachable. Kudos to both.....both have helped me a great deal.👏

    Greg Smashing it out the park here. The Bioneer is one of my favourite fitness-variety youtubers and his kettlebell vid is one of a couple that prompted me to look into kettlebells in depth. From there I picked up simple yet sinister and started watching more kettlebell content online. I found Lebe Stark with every type of video you could possibly want on kettlebell training and are my go-to for anything kettlebells now. To see Greg go through the Bioneers vid in a respectful and constructive way has answered all the questions I had around the Bioneers form and efficacy and shows how complimentary content should be done. Much love and respect for both you and the Bioneer!

    In the single arm swing, it is impossible to limit the rotation ONLY to the Tspine, especially if the KB is heavy, some lumbar rotation is likely to occur. So for me it is a very hazardous exercise in the perspective of low back health

    Seems like I have to go back to basics now. I started training hard style, then started leaning towards soft style as I personally believe KB is a far better tool to train for cardiovascular and pulmonary endurance rather than strength. Since I never had a coach, I ended up having a technique that is a mix of both soft and hard style. I am starting all over again with learning soft style swings.

    I am new to this, although I have been using many types of weights all my life. I am also a fitness instructor and martial artist. Why do I say this? It is because everything looks good, but I do not understand why you have dancing feet; the left foot does something different from the right. The left foot also tends to overpronate compared to the right. Do you have a foot injury? Those dancing toes also annoy me as a martial artist. I do not know of any weighted exercise where we are taught to not use the toes and lift them from the ground, apart from things like a Romanian and its variations. Even when standing, the right foot looks pronated; maybe your shoes are crap or something. In other exercises, I would say there is a loss of internal rotation and control of the leg aductors, in addition to poor use of the calf muscles and toes. These are just observations from someone trying to learn, not negative comments. At least have both feet do the same thing if they are, in fact, supposed to be unstable and dancing during these exercises. I wish you well, as mudslinging is not on my agenda. Live long and prosper.

    I really love your analysis here Gregory! I also think you nailed the tone of the video: it feels very respectful and positive while still conveying strong points and many examples. I would go so far as to call this a polished video essay.
    I personally struggle with the bell flap in the bottom of the swing, especially when I am doing so-called overspeed swings (I do a lot of these as part of Pavel's Q&D program). I find that the more I dial up the intensity (i.e. the more I push the tempo beyond what feels like a "natural" or "gravity mediated" pace) the more flap I get. I would love to see a video with your take on eliminating bell flap from overspeed kettlebell swings (just in case you're looking for video ideas).
    Bottom line: Solid work! I look forward to more content from you like this video!

    • @lebe-stark
      @lebe-stark  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for sharing Franklin! Great suggestion! The flapping can also happen if your arms (lats) are not engaged in the back swing. - Gregory

    Since you mentioned bench press, I'm curious about your take on mixing tools. I find that much of the kettlebell content I see is kettlebell exclusive. For my part, I love kettlebells but I use them in concert with bodyweight training, barbells, dumbbells, the trap bar, axles, sleds, and more. Only Dan John comes to mind as someone who produces the sort of content I have in mind. Any interest in having a go at it?

    • @lebe-stark
      @lebe-stark  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the suggestion Patrick! TH-cam favors niche content. As I mention in the video, I rather be a master of one than a jack of all trades. Everything else is pretty much already covered on this platform. However, I'll keep your ideas in mind!
      That being said, I'm a HUGE fan of mixing up tools. - Gregory

    Waaaay too many intelligent observations here Gregory - that’s not what the internet is for!😂 Seriously, I think the Bioneer is great but all of the points you raise are completely valid. I thought his snatch was a messy clean and press (hence me shouting at my phone “where’s the rack position?!” )
    The only time I use wrist guards are for heavy TGUs - I just find the pressure of the bell on my forearm too intense (certainly, if you need to use them for dynamic exercises like cleans and snatches, then there is a technique issue). Great work as usual 👍

    I think the bell is too high because the weight is too light.

    • @AVGNMGS2
      @AVGNMGS2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, during my coaching for beginners it’s either the weight is too light for them( so they underestimate their strength) or during the upward phase of the swing, they start to use their arms to assist in pulling it upwards. Best way to correct is to keep reminding them to just let the bell float up, the arms are just tethers to keep the bell stable on the path.
