You have had a long finnish journey and im glad to be here to see it. Would be nice to hear your opinion what makes person finnish and what have you learned along the way. Even tho you dont speak finnish much, i think you are more finnish than many finnish friends that i have who have born here and live their whole life here. Thanks, keep it up :)
My partner is Finnish and ever since we got together 3 years ago, we both have been following your videos (I'm also in the Race to the Finnish TM, thank you for understanding the pain!). When I was first in Finland we binged watched all your food-related videos, went to K-Market and bought the same candy, biscuits, and drinks that you tried in order to recreate them (but in our case, a Mexican instead of a Brit reacting)! It has been a very fun experience and we're looking forward to more suomalainen snack recommendations from you. PS: Thanks for warning me about salmiakki before walking straight into the trap.
Miss you guys. Haven’t been on here for a while. Also miss Finland. Was amazing when I went to visit in 2018. I’m now married to a Dutch man and it’s amazing how similar the candy is. Droppies are the same as the candy you guys have in Finland.
Credit where credit is due! It's so funny because before your comment Cat actually suggested to do something like this but your comment and the amount of likes your comment got just made us go... We need to do this! 😁
I really loved your taste test videos with your mom and brother. The penalty pancakes comment still makes me laugh. I don't know how you could recreate them though.
Hey Dave, I have watched some of your videos, but somehow have seen mostly candy tasting videos. Of course I have had limited time for TH-cam. I think it would be good to see you do some Finnish cooking, even eating food in Finnish restaurants. And the nature is beautiful in every season. I am a Finn in Texas.
That´s the original taste Dave 😄. At those times it was kind of normal to watch youtube videos where foreigners tasted salmiakki or other finnish candies, food, alhocohol etc.. Usualy no-one could eat salmiakki or even liquiris and most spitted out. I personaly don´t usualy eat candy, but when i do it is salmiakki, lakritsi or chocolate. I don´t kno why, but we finnish people are always interested how foreigners like finnish things and how & what do they think about it. Well as a kidd living couple years in Sweden i like to watch same things about Sweden as well. It´s also interesting to see what kind differences there are even thou swedish people are in most things very similar as we are here.
Dave, looks like years in Finland have worked very well for you and you are almost Finnish. :D In fact few very good candies what Finns outside of Finland really miss like Pantteri, Fazerin sininen and Turkinpippuri. Cheers from Tornio! :)
Good video! 💛 You are cute together and I like Cat's shirt 😍❤️ I think shortness of the old video and it being very straight to the point are in fact the reasons why I watched it hahah
Ill bet youd like Julias too, Dave, so as xmas is creeping closer, keep an eye out for these wrapped chocs with banana flavoured marmalade filling. Also the elusive (found only in Dumle mix boxes, purple wrapper) licorice filled Dumle might hit the spot now. Delish!
Does it? I know the "Pantteri mix" bag has both normal pantteri and the soft "musta pantteri" as well as the fruity ones, but it's been a while since I got a regular bag.
Aww. Pantteri… Best candy in the universe! I need to have some strong words with Fazer about them not selling it here in Sweden. Can take up the suffeli situation at the same time.
I cannot explain how happy I was to see Cat just licking the salmiakki powder straight from the thingamajig (whatever you call it idfk) because I used to do that as a kid when I had salmiakki powder from places like the alpine skiing slope cafe or HopLop and I've always wondered what other way is there to eat it?? Because eating salmiakki powder with a spoon seems crazy to me 😂
i buy turkish peber alot (the multi taste whatever things) like alot alot but for the past half a year i havent bought any i think. they really are good
We have a collective inferiority complex/disorder in Finland. We constantly wonder what others think of us, so of course we watched a video about Finnish candy. You're welcome.
Please, maybe You can ask for help of your beautiful wife Cat....about translation. Joo, olipa ihana video. Who Knows: Kaikkea parasta koko perheellesi! Toivottaa vuosien kanavasi tilaaja Helena.
Don`t quite remember when I hopped on the Dave train but certainly wasn`t from the beginning it seems, looks like you got a bit of a Kurt Cobain look phase going on then :)
Don't the Pantteri bags have two different kinds of candy in them? Some of them are hard, and some more squishy. The hard ones are sweet, while the soft ones are more salmiakki-flavored.
Not gonna lie if I skimmed that video and saw the Dumle-bar I would've assumed that it was a Dumle Snacks bar too. Never seen or even heard of a Dumle-bar before.

Well next time when you taste Salmiakki you should buy it from a pharmacy. The only real pharmacy salmiakki that has been sold in Finnish pharmacies for at least 100 years Happy Days :)
THIS is what i call character development
Haha totally... For the better though?! 🤣🤣🤣
@@davecad you´ve gained enough of experience and got levels up 😄.

How about Kat doing a taste test of traditional British candy. I'd like to see that and see what kind of candies you have there.
Not a bad idea, though I have a feeling she has tasted most of them already considering she used to live there.

That pantteri bag has two different candies and the other one is salmiakki and other one is lakritsi.
I never knew this! 😮

That's so true.
I think I mentioned this .. Have you tried those Pantteri candies with beer?
"suck it enough so that you get that hole in the end.." Dave my boy you have reached level 10.
Honestly, can you say anything else about traditional Fazer milk chocolate? It's good in it's simplicity. Just a chocolate bar but a darn great one.
The funny thing is that those pipes were at some point prohibited, because it was thought they would be a gateway for kids to start smoking ;)
When does Dave's parents or siblings visit on Channel again?
Salmiakki is something you just grow into, and eventually you start craving for it
How about .. working for one day somewhere with instructions only in Finnish. For example in some shop/post/delivery/cafe or something like that?
Funny young Dave. Yes yes more these!
Jim has to be one of my favorite fazer products but I still buy it like once a year maybe xd
If you're eating Jim, you need to listen Viidakko Jim.
Can't put link here, but it's in TH-cam.
I live in spain, im stoned and I just talked about salmiakki with someone... Why can't I have it here...?
Does cadbury taste little ashy for dave too? I feel this way after trying half dozen diffirent.

Jim isn't something I've eaten since childhood, my grandma used to give them to me. It's a very child friendly chocolate bar.
Its been a while since your alkohol testing! Do more of salmiakkikossu! Those were funny videos!🤣🤣😅
We're planning on making some new ones soon 😊
Dumle Snacks is way better than Dumle bar. The crunch and little saltiness give it everything it needs.
How about Dave you search for the British candies and food and make Cat try *those?* Kind of a revenge video.
Oh man, there's definitely some "good" stuff she hasn't tried even though she lived in the UK for 10 years...
