The Bone Palace
My dad and I stayed at Harrah's Casino. They've got 2 full bathrooms per room and a short walk to the Gondola. The shuttle to the California side is an even shorter walk. We went in Feb '24 and already booked for next year.
How was the snow conditions at that time? I got a new video coming out soon I was out there at the end of January and there was very little snow to be found.
@@BONES714they had a some decent snow right before we got there. We were a little nervous before that. We went Feb 20-28 and it was a great time. The last time my dad and I were there was back in 2000 and I hadn't been snowboarding since so I was really looking forward to it.
We flew into Reno and took the bus down to the hotel ($60 a person round trip) and didn't rent a car. It's probably the most affordable way to do a ski trip. We booked late last year so paid too much for our tickets but already ordered the Tahoe pass for next year.

We were a little worried at first but they got some snow before we went. We were there from Feb 20-28.
Here's a video of my dad and me. The last time I was on a snowboard was in 2000 at Heavenly so I was really excited to buy some gear and go on this trip. My dad didn't think he'd ever go again but we've already booked for next year.

It's cheaper to ride the gondola down and have lunch in the village. You can also grab burritos in the village and eat the on the way up. I see you did this later on in the video.
Yeah the village was a great place for eating lunch and drinks!
Question is waxing a snowboard anything like waxing a surfboard I know it's a dumb question but I'm new to all of this 🙂
And $22 for food I'll just eat the snow and make snow cones 😂
I've been snowboarding 28 years and unfortunately besides Wisconsin, ive been to Lutsen Minnesota which was nice but not this big! When youre in the backcountry and the trees, how do you find your way back to the lift? Im thinking about booking a trip out there. Thanks!
You can start out by checking out the trail map just to see if there are trails on each side of the woods. Next you can start dropping into the trees and just keep the trail in eye shot of you until you get more comfortable. For the most part resorts are pretty good at marking stuff off saying if you go this way there is no way back.

If you go, get a Epic Tahoe pass early and take the bus from the airport to the casino hotels. It's an inexpensive trip that way.
