    I recently bought a self defense umbrella for my sister and she absolutely loves it. She can't carry a gun and she probably won't carry a knife. She can take that umbrella even to non-permissive areas and nobody is going to question that. It's pretty much unbreakable, comes with a glass breaker and is probably going to last forever if just used as an umbrella.

    Good stuff, first off, hats off to ya bud, it takes a real honest man and a grounded one to admit his flaws. You didnt have to but you still put it out there and your reasoning. I applaude that and really respect it. I 100 percent agree, guns are great but you definitely need to be in the right mindset and know your limits, along with capabilities if youre going to carry one. A calm demeanor and being aware of your surroundings are two big factors in my opinion. I do carry firearms most days, and practice with them almost weekly, but i also do carry blades. Knives are just like firearms to me, theyre tools. And like you said if you know how to use them, you dont need a heck of a lot. I typically carry a defensive blade every day and a jack knife, basically a beater blade for every thing else. Preciate what you do man, sorry for such a long winded response, but god bless from ole Carolina.

    Love the video. Good to see level headed, honest, and common sense kind of stuff to approach this topic with. Some worthwhile mentions - the CS trench/spetznaz shovel, as its already a useful tool just to keep in the vehicle anyway. Also those tire knockers all the old timers keep in their trucks and/or a good old fashioned Mag-Lite.

    I always carry at least three knives-a heavy-duty folder, a slip joint, and a pocket fixed blade. In my state, you can carry a gun, but using it for self-defense is another story. Even if you’re robbed in the middle of the night at home, you can’t use a gun to protect your belongings. The threat must be direct to you or your family, and you have to match force with force-meaning you’d basically have to be shot or stabbed first to justify using a firearm.
    The only item I’ve found legal to carry in all states, cities, airports, and even courtrooms is a wood cane. My preference is a solid hickory J-top cane. It’s not classified as a deadly weapon like a gun or knife, yet it’s incredibly effective for self-defense. A good hickory cane can break bones and deter almost anyone while remaining non-lethal-unless you target the head. I’ve carried one for years, and no one has ever questioned it, even in the most Democratic blue states that are extremely tough on self-defense, as well as in government buildings, airports, or courtrooms. But like you said a gun would be the first and best option for self defense . Scab hope you have a wonderful week 👍🏻👍🏻

      @choirboyzcutleryoutdoors  วันที่ผ่านมา

      Brother that is and excellent suggestion I may try to get me a good solid wood cane into a video on it. You are right that thing is a heavy hitter and can take somebody's head off well figuratively but it can bash their brains in literally

      Scab, In Florida there is a company called Cane Masters that makes oak and hickory canes. They are expensive, but they are worth it. Some of their canes are specifically designed for martial arts and self-defense, and their appearance might raise some questions. However, they also sell plain J-top canes that are second to none in terms of quality and strength. These are the best canes I have come across

    Wow Scab, first off the honesty and self awareness you have is amazing brother, you're very intelligent and it shows in your videos, that is really commendable, I like where you head is at, unfortunately there is alot of idiots carrying a gun and they are just waiting for an excuse to use it, i thank the lord i am a very level headed person and there isn't much that bothers me so I have no problem walking away from a stupid situation or a drunk idiot, I have no need to get into a ego battle expecially with someone I dont know on the street, I do carry a gun on me on a regular basis because I have 6 kids under 12 years old and the world being as crazy as it is I can't take any changes, I carry a Glock 19 with a spare magazine and a CRKT obake, as well as a victorinox Swiss army knife and flashlight, but you are 100% correct your common sense is the most important form of self defense and situational awareness and i think this video will help alot of people, God bless you and your family brother.

    I'm with you. I do carry some crazy things sometimes but that's just because I love knives and collect them. I believe that pepper spray is extremely important to carry. It gives you options. I had to use it once. I was on my bike and a very aggressive dog came after me. I didn't even hit the dog but it turned around immediately with one blast. I guess the scent in the air was enough. Thanks 👊

    Very nice video! Situational awarness should be number 1. I have avoided bad situations just by being aware. Number 2 swallow your pride. Saftey of you and your family is more important. Number 3, Carry what you know how to use effectively. One item that I have on me all the time is a good flashlight. 4000 lumens in the eyeballes buys a couple seconds which is an eternity when things go south. Plus a light makes a good impact weapon and is something that you will never get in trouble for. There are other things that I carry in case a higher level response is necessary, but a good light is the first level and is a super useful edc tool. I probably use a light 10 to 15 times a day.

    Awesome video Scab I really like how you mentioned the person who you seen the video from. I've said things I was gonna start doing and the next day ppl start doing it and I've noticed some that started doing and talking certain things I do and nobody has mentioned I got this idea from Izzy ya know so big props to you brother 💯.. I've never carried a sidearm until 2 years ago during bow season a guy got out of the truck being dumb wanting to fight so I got out to let him get some and he wasn't about it and got so mad during him acting stupid he pulled a pistol and was gonna shoot me over nothing put the gun at me 10 feet away I couldn't do nothing but say my prayers I'd just had my one and only child I thought I couldn't have kids that was a blessing and I'm thinking this guy is gonna kill me for nothing cause he wanted to fight and I stood up out of the car but thankfully he put it down and I got gone and it was over me waving at him saying hello cause he was in a truck like the neighbors come to find out he had a mental problem.. so now I keep one in my vehicle cause you never know and my family comes first and hopefully I never have to use it.. I'm a great person but I stand up for myself and family.. I would say my 3 things are my hands knife and pistol here in Ga and I hope I never have to use nothing more than my hands but I do have to put a Little wood dawel rod in my hand to make a 👊 cause I've broken fingers knuckles and hand 2 times and a hair line crack from having to hit ppl trying to fight me when I was younger but that's one thing years ago about small towns ppl know if you mess with the wrong one you gonna get it so after a few altercations ppl didn't try me.. But towns grow and mine has and you have the young boys in their 20s that's gonna learn to calm down.. With all that said I don't like violence I have a huge heart I was just raised not to be a pushover and be respectful and I love my family and freedom I don't like trouble.. I think you were raised or lived not far from me in Ga and how things go.. Like watching boxing and MMA tho.. Great video brother keep Rockin ✌️😎

    First of all, mad respect for having the wherewithal to put away the firearm before it lead you to loose your freedom, most altercations can be avoided/resolved without going hands on and or lethal but one thing I hate to add to this is the fact that an aggressor is quick to play victim once they get their ass whooped so be very careful how you fend off an attacker and I suggest not leaving anybody to stand up against in court otherwise things can get flipped on you fast! Also the jackalope is a great choice being long and thin enough to get between rib bones to those vitals....

    My experience is that if they’re brandishing a knife, they are trying to scare you off …. If they are unnaturally confident or “creepishlly” furtive … there’s a problem!!!!! and survival dispatch once mentioned about lock and handkerchief (lock in a sock) ….
    I got into knives because if you slip and fall especially with an animal attack, it’s obviously better than nunchucks or any blunt force improvisation

    I carry a pistol front appendix and a fixed blade currently the VGK Hawk. I’ve trained pistol in the military, several CCW courses and regularly shoot. But I still feel naked without a fixed blade to accompany me as well. Like you said a lot of altercations are point blank, and at that point a knife is just as deadly. Another note why I include the blade is bc you may be in a “no shoot” scenario. Last thing you want to do is pop rounds off in a crowded area. All of these are tools and has their place

    Daggers push dagger the purpose for those fuckin things is for the take down however any knife can be used for fighting but it just depends on you skill set & experience real life altercations with a knife is swashbuckling forget about shit you see in the movies because when a knife gets thrown in the mix somebody is gonna get fucked up one way or the other then if your have a clean background all that shit will come into affect in self defense & use of deadly force when you apply stand your ground & if it comes down to if you gotta throw hands rule of thumb is try to get out of the fight as fast as you got into it you have 2 fist & you also have 2 feet to walk away the 80% of the time it’s all preventable the other 20 % is because of stupidity anyways I only carry knives as a tool & as a last resort if someone is set on causing bodily harm with a knife then you gotta do what you gotta do.. that’s some real shit that the outdoors was preaching the choir
