    You missed something about the final David Blane trick. David Blane is an endurance exhibitionist. He pierces holes in his body and doesn't allow them to seal during healing, so he can push needles through them during a trick without bleeding or risk of infection. He trains himself to be able to quickly follow the hole with the needle. This is why he allows the host to touch the needle, pulling it through the final hole. He often allows the observer to finish the pulling through. Ricky Gervais did it once and remarked something like "is that 'magic', though, if you actually just stick a needle through your arm?"

    • @just_some_internet_guy
      @just_some_internet_guy ปีที่แล้ว +21

      Excellent observation! There's no way to push a needle through without blood unless, as you say, the holes were already there!

      I've been a magician for a long time. There are a lot of things I know and a lot of things I don't. One thing I do know is I have the instructional video for some of his piercing tricks. They're all 100% genuine. The trick is that there is no trick, other than precision and placement. The areas that are pierced don't generally bleed as there aren't as many blood vessels. One thing I'd like to point out is, at no point in these instructional videos does it say to not allow the puncture to heal in order to perform this. It is simply practice and confidence with what you're doing. I've seen it performed many times, in videos and in person, and I can say by experience that it can produce blood. It's highly dangerous and I would not recommend attempting it. I do not include it in my set, even though I perform other "gross" stunts.

    I remember seeing an assistant pass Dynamo a bottle sneakily during a trick when he was surrounded by people. They were acting like a member of the public. There was also another one blocking people from getting in the way, or seeing the pass. Since then, I always look for his stooges, they're always there somewhere. They also film Dynamo's videos to look like shaky, spur-of-the-moment, free-hand film making for dramatic effect, but in reality, they are very careful with the filming, and also I think they carefully edit with video effect to remove glimpses of things we shouldn't see.

      I was thinking some of these explanations would work on tv but how would a live audience not see what theyre doing. I mean i know magic is all distracting people but when youre in front of hundreds like...cmon. like the sword box teleport one. Explanation.... oh they wore multiple hoodies and walked up the ramp. The ramp thats right in from of 1000 people? On camera, looks good, but if you sat by that ramp you just watched a bunch of people walking around pulling different color hoodies off🤔 right

      The Arnold glass trick looks like fake glass, it breaks too easily. Wine glasses are very hard to break with teeth. I have a feeling this was pre arranged with Arnold and the glass is not made of real glass. David Blane is known for paying off actors, like Harrison Ford with the orange trick, which looks completely staged.

    THANKS so much, irehman7 - I just discovered your channel and I’m going to share your videos with my family and everyone I know about you
    I personally *loathe* all these cheesy illusions that require altered hardware, confederates in the audience, palmed devices, and all the other junk that no-talent “goofs” bought from a catalogue to perform their stupid stunts
    I’ll take a professional card manipulator that has spent YEARS (and *not* money) perfecting their technique - such that the open a new deck of cards their performance ultimately becomes totally *spellbinding*
    ONE NOTE: you might want to consider testing your text reader a little more closely, because “tear” (as in to tear paper) comes out as “tear” (as in to shed a tear) - the way around this is to change the spelling the word - so to get “tear “ to sound right, you spell it: “tare” (a word used in the trucking business) I realize if you’re not a strong English-speaker, it might be a bit daunting, but it would make your videos *PERFECT*

      True. Also, the way the narrative is designed, the artist/magician can chose one of two story paths at that point. If the "safe" bag had been choosen, then the patter shifts to "are you sure?", or just playing with the spectator/audience by moving the hand back & forth. Usually with a speed-up and a smash. Which, is actually a path that works no matter. Lol

      @@irehman7 For instance, on trick 5, your drawing shows the box much deeper than it is for real. How does she bend her legs to get them into the upper half? The upper half of her legs are surely longer than the depth of the box. MAYBE she can rotate them outside but that's not wide enough, either. You left out that part. HOW does she get her legs out of the bottom and into the top. There really does not appear to be enough room on the actual apparatus.
      On trick 4, you mention two people running up and down the stairs right into where the audience is sitting to trade places. Most of the audience would have surely seen this. Maybe they are in on it and told to act surprised. How this switch was accomplished within the constraint of the stairs running from the stage to the foot of the audience area was left out. Even in black clothes, it seems that people would have noticed. I know that, sometimes, the entire group of spectators is "in" on the trick. Is this how you think the switch was done?
      After reviewing trick 3, it guess it is possible for someone, with a lot of experience and no hip joints to speak of to contort themselves into the very limited space between the sides. It really takes a special person to do that. I was not convinced on first viewing but wherever else would his legs be hidden. It must be very uncomfortable from the way he takes the first step after his legs reappear. He seems in some pain. So I guess this one is OK as stated.
      On trick 1, it would be interesting to hear your speculation on how the sewing of the lips was accomplished. I heard nothing.
      Otherwise, you have HIGH production values and the explanations were appreciated.
      The highlight picture on this one (seen before playing) was of the guy drilling through his head. That was NOT included in this one. A bit of click bait, it seems to me.
