Nice to see. But at the same time I found it sad and depressing . Dale didn't build DEI to be a monument and museum to him. It was to be the future and legacy for his children . I feel strongly that his intent was to create a powerhouse very competitive operation and ultimately put Dale junior in charge . It had a very impressive start and could have been incredibly huge and successful . But unfortunately the female in charge after his death could only think about her fastest way out of the spot lights and the best way to the bank and the golden goose. I think he would be sad to see what has become of it all. Screwed once again by a woman . She took everything PULS the legacy he tried to give his children .
She didn't get his legacy. She just got stuff. Like the movie quote from the movie The Sandlot, "Heroes get remembered, but legends never die." His legacy will always reside in the hearts of the fans. She can never control that.
@Al Tak If you ever watched the Dale Jr Download where he had Mamma on you will quickly what Sr's mom felt/thought about Teresa and most likely the rest of the Family as well! (with the exception of Taylor)
@@irongoatrocky2343 yeah Martha wouldnt come out and say anything negative but Dale's sister Cathey seem to enjoy telling the story of Dale Jr's mom Brenda kicking Theresa's ass in Martha's kitchen. Martha just giggled, it was somewhat evident that there is not a lot of love between Dale's family and Theresa.
We went by DEI this past Monday and it has been closed since 2020. There was a couple of men working on the sprinkler system but other than that just a building sitting there. We did peek in the door glass and his car is still sitting there just like at the first of this video. It’s almost like a shrine that no one is allowed to visit anymore.
BrendanTheGent I grew up watching NASCAR in the 90's and Earnhardt was my driver I loved him. And when he died and Teresa Ran DEI into the ground it tore my heart out. Especially since Jr was there and Jr was gonna be so successful with his dad's support
RebelRanger01 yeah, and know she is in a legal battle against kerry earnhardt from using his own name.. it didnt have to be this way. I started watching nascar in 1994
sticklift Because his dad was very good to him and the team and they got great equipment and Jr was happy at DEI for a while. Now I know he's been happy at HMS, but not as happy as at DEI
I went in March of 2001, a lot has changed since then. That wall where the race suits were was a display of antique Winchester and Colt rifles and pistols. There was also deer, elk, goat and turkey mounts all the way across that whole wall. The room where the race cars are had classic cars, old IROC cars and a couple of classic John Deere tractors. It's kind of lame that they took all the cool stuff out to put sunglasses and belt displays. Who knows the guns were probaly sold because of their value, she has pretty much sold off anything else of any kind of value. It's a shame, I would never step foot in that building again, I would rather drive to Welcome NC and go to RCR and see a true Dale Earnhardt museum.
Dale IS the best of the best, an American legend, we will never have another driver like him, save the Intimidator! he will live forever in our hearts!
I am Brazilian and dream to know this place, I have always been in love with this world of nascar especially the story of Dale Ernhardt. I have only one cap from Dale and one from Jeff Gordon. I wish I had more of them ... from nascar history.
I grew up 30 minutes from Welcome NC and RCR. So growing up, my brother and I always talked about what "That Black Car" did to piss everyone off at the race track during dinner on Monday evening each week. #3car
I want to visit so bad. I know I'd probably leave there in tears even 20yrs later. I was a wreck as a kid when we lost this true American legend. I still have my own Dale shrine in my man cave. Never forget Dale. 👍
Earnhardt started his career in an old pink Ford. Besides who cares what someone drives to the place if they're there to pay respects to the man and admire his achievements.
My hubby was watching the last race. I usually did, but that day I hadn't. Hubby announced suddenly that Dale had went into the wall and it wasn't looking good. Of course I looked and waited for the news. I tried watching a race after that, but just didn't want to any more. You know Harvick had a similar driving style, but they let him know he wasn't going to be allowed to drive that way.
What should be a NASCAR power and a legacy to honor Dale is nothing more than a pathetic attempt by Teresa to bleed every dime possible out of a legends name. Shame on her for killing what was a thriving and competitive race team
ITxManster I totally agree and what's even worse is RCR keeping the the number 3 on the track that number should have been retired 17 years ago he only does it for monetary and marketing purposes f****** a******
The number 3 meant something to the Childress Family before Dale Sr. drove with the number and they knew Dale way more than any of us did. Older fans that are still alive may remember the 3 for the older drivers like Junior Johnson that used it. The Earnhardts seem to be fine with the 3 being used again. At least its a relative of Childress and not some random guy. If NASCAR retired numbers because of deaths of iconic legends then there wouldn't be many good numbers left. As for Teresa, can't disagree. She ran DEI in to the ground and I think its kind of weird to still be selling merch. of Dale Sr. when he has been gone for a really long time.
Dude Slacker well then I guess I kind of get it. You make sense at least. Was never aware that Junior Johnson drove the number 3 thanks for the info take care.

I was working the track in Rockingham NC the very next race after Dale Sr was killed, it was unlike anything I had ever seen at a race. I have watched this video 3 times ! the music in the background is ominous, I can imagine back in the day there was all kinds of noise form the cres getting cars ready and a constant flood of fans. Now it seems like this is just a HUGE memorial to Dale Earnhardt and a memorial to Dales dream of DEI. Thanks for destroying a great company Teresa!
I visited DEI in 2004, it was amazing. People constantly streaming in and out. You could barely walk in the gift shop. I still have some lugnuts and shirts I got there. Good video but hard to watching knowing what it was and what it might never be again. We can only hope one day Teresa has a change of heart and gifts DEI to Jr and makes it a powerhouse again.

Sad to see they place has changed so much even shortly after his passing. They used to have cars inside by the trophy display, & inside where JR’s car was. The gift shop used to have a ton of Dale sr stuff and die cast cars. Again this was 2003-2004
Thanks for uploading this. I've always wanted to visit that building, been an Earnhardt fan since I was a little kid. I live in Florida so it'll take a good drive to get there. Awesome video man.
Hey man wanted to let you know I visited DEI today! Was on the way back down south from Connecticut/Maine with the girlfriend for vacation. Walked all around and bought tons of Earnhardt stuff. Had such a great time.
Good video! I told you the other day my wife loves Nascar...well early in our dating (almost 20 years ago). She took me to a dirt track race. I never been to one. She set me right on the front row. Back then I was a prissy guy. I had my Tommy Hilfiger clothes on, dressed very nicely lol.... Well needless to say everything was going great, I ordered a couple hot dogs.... Then the race began, I ate my first dirt dogs and clothes were ruined lol She's laughing now as I type this. It wasn't a bad experience, I was probably pissed then. My damn hot dog was covered! My face was covered in dirt. My mother had to wash the clothes 2 or 3 times lol I miss that track..it went out a few years ago, but now that I'm older and wiser, 'd like to experience that again.
The Mad Nomadder haha yeah they sling mud pretty fast. when i was doing security for a dirt race they gave us rain coats to keep us from getting our uniforms ruined lol sad that trqck went out of buisness.. is there any others close by??
There may be two, definitely one in Elkins, WV...The one in Pennsboro, WV is questionable. The one we went to was in Bridgeport, WV, which was about 3 miles from her home. Elkins is about 50 miles away and Pennsboro 40 miles. I definitely want to take her back to one. I really want to take her to a Nascar race since she's never been to one. Since Mark Martin retired I believe her favorite now is Chase Elliott.
You should go to the Martinsville or Richmond race since you are closer to them. We have the may race coming up in may here at charlotte motor speedway
Alot of times, I pray and wish for him to come back. We have Austin Dillon, but it won't be the same. The most of what I collect Dale Earnhardt Merch. From the head up. My body just hollows in sadness saying... "Come on, act like Dale!" He was my favorite driver, I never got to see him race, because I'm nine Yrs. Old
Caleb Playzs Austin Dillon is nothing but a punk ass b**** riding the carousel on his grandaddy's ticket. That number three should have been retired 17 years ago. That Cocksuker Childress only keeps it around for marketing in monetary purposes!
Yes it is, actually i just filmed there a couple weeks ago for an update. Its only opened a couple days a week now and not much to see but they may add things again. I hope you get to visit.
It was sad going there..felt like more of a funeral home than an admiration of his life..would have been cool if all those cars past them big doors were able to walked by and see closer..its a shame..really..the ," what ifs".
Michael McDonald i hope you get the chance 1 day. Im finishing editing a video and will upload it as soon as its done of the cup garage after practice.
LOVE this video already but totally loved it more when I saw that crown vic! Nice car, I used to drive a 2008 highway patrol package! Hope I can come out to this place soon
I'm very surprised that DEI still is open at all. Thank you very much for doing this video. I'm not a Earnhardt fan at all. But it's nice to see people can still visit.
That guy Heist youre very welcome. I thank you for watching. I am glad its open still but they are only open a couple days every week. Im curious if they will do anything for christmas again
I love every one but the ex wife what a selfish person can't stand her and I don't even know her you know dale sr.would not of left it the way it stayed. She a sad person.
Glad I was able to go a few years ago, but wanting to take my daughters there. Has anyone been able to get any info at all when they will be opening up again?

I figured lol I had someone on here comment that he was her lawyer threatening to sue me haha I used to go to the Earnhardt Birthday celebrations. Very sad she stopped doing those.
BrendanTheGent I saw the mini trophies in that case you were looking at so I stop and read part of the plaque. Apparently they were his slot car trophie.
I always meant to go there, thanks for the show. I live right where Truex grew up. I used to work on a guys car who raced with him open wheel modified. I rember the 2 of them racing side by side down the street next to the shop. The heads on my motor are old Truex heads when they raced SB chevys before the sb 2.2 motors. Lol
whoa! whoa! hold on first thank you so much for watching I am glad you enjoyed. But what you just said got me excited cause I also worked on modifieds at Wall Stadium lol Back in 2006 and 2007. I just went back for the turkey derby in 2017. I moved out of jersey 10 years ago
Dale Sr would be rolling around in his grave for what Teresa has done to dei u know if dale Jr had been the owner of his dads race team I bet it would have been successful like Jr Motorsports but nope Teresa wanted all the money to herself well my grandma taught me this what goes around comes around and Teresa this is what happens when she got greedy she don't have a race team anymore and now its only a museum that's running people may agree or disagree on what I think but that's ok I respect peoples opinions
You're not wrong. Terresa ran DEI into the ground. Jr and Kelly should have been the ones to run DEI. Like you said, it likely would have been far morre successful had they been the ones to run it. Kelly has 10,00000 times more business sense than Terresa ever did.
Dale Earnhardt's shop is at RCR in Welcome, NC. Dale's cars weren't actually made out of this shop, although he did own it and produce DEI cars out of it. The RCR shop in Welcome is the holy grail for any Earnhardt fan. My dad and I used to go back in the 90's every year and watch them work on his cars there. Today it's a museum full of all of Dale's famous race cars and even Chocolate Myers (Dale's old gas man) runs a radio show out of it. You'll see him there just about everyday
I remember when it was first built and opened you walked in and saw him Jr S.Park and M. Waltrip banners and there 3 cars up front 😢 w2fu something T.E. And JR used to live across the street. I lived off iredale rd through the woods from his deer farm.
The "born on date" was jr.s Daytona 500 win. The red rim came from Kasey kahnes car because of a new tire compund that year led to a shortage in tires per car
"Continue the Legacy"??? Now, it's more like "Continue to Feed Teresa Earnhardts Wallet". Personally, I think it's sad what she has done. The museum, if it can be called that, is more of way to display some of Dales items, in a hope someone buys something. Very limited on actual DEI items. His Winston Cup trophies, should not be on display at DEI. Sad, sad, sad situation.
I wonder what ever happened to his truck and trailer one that everyone signed after his death, I was difenty one of those guys that's signed it in a few place when it was in Fontana CA.....🤔

I did go in a different direction but recently i have been putting my resume with teams again and also Nascar itself to be an official. I may get my cdl to apply for hauler driver
The white and red Dale jr car is from he won at the second Daytona race after Dale sr. died at the 500 and I think Dale jr raced in that car when he won the Daytona 500 in 2004.
What a great video I know it’s about three years old but I’m glad I came across it I could never go there I don’t even know if that’s open anymore I’d cry like a baby I can’t even watch NASCAR anymore it’s so sad! I took my family to DEI and we got an eerie feeling. It was dark, it just didn’t feel right. We did support them though and bought a lot of stuff in the gift shop.
That's not a Truex car that's Jamie McMurray car when he won Daytona and Indy. I saw the 04 Jr. 500 winning car just a couple months after it came back to the shop back in 2005

My mother had to wash the clothes 2 or 3 times lol
I miss that track..it went out a few years ago, but now that I'm older and wiser, 'd like to experience that again.
The Mad Nomadder haha yeah they sling mud pretty fast. when i was doing security for a dirt race they gave us rain coats to keep us from getting our uniforms ruined lol
sad that trqck went out of buisness.. is there any others close by??
There may be two, definitely one in Elkins, WV...The one in Pennsboro,
WV is questionable. The one we went to was in Bridgeport, WV, which was
about 3 miles from her home. Elkins is about 50 miles away and
Pennsboro 40 miles.
BrendanTheGent One day hopefully...with her kidney issues she doesn't know if she can sit that long now
The Mad Nomadder i understand completely, health is serious and needs to come first
Maan. I've found another reason to visit the US. Thank You :) I honestly wasn't expecting this place to be still open.
Nothing Here thats awesome! youre very welcome!!
Thanks for this. Never seen inside before. Need to go in person myself someday.
Your very welcome. I hope you get the chance soon
@@BrendanTheGent just gutted me when we lost him. Sometimes I wish I had stayed in NC.
Old
Caleb Playzs thankfully we have old races to watch, and other clips of him here on youtube so he will always live on.
Caleb Playzs Austin Dillon is nothing but a punk ass b**** riding the carousel on his grandaddy's ticket. That number three should have been retired 17 years ago. That Cocksuker Childress only keeps it around for marketing in monetary purposes!
I went in the late 90's it was awesome we toured the garages saw some pit practices then they fed us an amazing lunch
Wow thats amazing. Shame its a shell of its former self
Politicians and money will ruin anything
Is the shop still open ? I’d like to go visit it this year but can’t seem to find much about it
Yes it is, actually i just filmed there a couple weeks ago for an update.
Its only opened a couple days a week now and not much to see but they may add things again. I hope you get to visit.
BrendanTheGent I want to go see it and walk out with as much Merch as I can hold
@@cole-trickle50 lol you can! They are selling crew uniforms now
BrendanTheGent I will call them tomorrow and check hours of operation . Vacation plans 2019 Thank You !!
@@cole-trickle50 youre very welcome!
It was sad going there..felt like more of a funeral home than an admiration of his life..would have been cool if all those cars past them big doors were able to walked by and see closer..its a shame..really..the ," what ifs".
Yeah, i recently went back to film.
Lot less to see now.. its very sad
Sometimes they are
awesome place ! great tour and presentation, enjoyed it a lot !
Thank you so much. Glad you enjoyed! Thank you for watching
Were there diecasts in the gift shop? #3
ISM Vision NASCAR Cup Series yes there was and at great prices also
Did you find his semi that was placed in there?
Michael McDonald his last semi truck is on display at Richard Childress Racing. I will go there 1 day
oh, I wasn't sure where it was located, either RCR or there @ Dale Earnhardt Inc.
Michael McDonald all good my freind. I appreciate you watching
yeah, I would love to go to those museums that u went to, but oh well.
Michael McDonald i hope you get the chance 1 day. Im finishing editing a video and will upload it as soon as its done of the cup garage after practice.
I'd love to go here someday... Just to stand next to the black No.3 would blow my mind
I hope you get the chance!
I'm camping on the infield of the Daytona Speedway for 6 days next month - in turn 4
HINCH i hope you have a great time! That sounds like its going to be a great time.
LOVE this video already but totally loved it more when I saw that crown vic! Nice car, I used to drive a 2008 highway patrol package! Hope I can come out to this place soon
I wish I go there, Dale was a great man, and an amazing driver as always.
Wow. The 1990 Chevrolet Lumina! That was one of the new cars we sold at the "Chevyland" Dealership in Shreveport, Louisiana.
I drive by that place every few days, didn't know it was a museum. Do they charge admission?
No its completely free. Hope you enjoy it
@@BrendanTheGent Damn, she won't charge admission?? that must be haunting her..............................
Is DEI still open to visits/gift shop?
Yes it is!
Hope Teresa don't sue you for copyright fringing. Would not surprise me or anybody
I aint making money from it, and its a museum so not sure how she would..
I even went back and filmed recently lol
@@BrendanTheGent I just being sarcastic, I not a big fan of Teresa but I appreciate you uploading this video, I haven't been there since dale died, god knows we miss him
I figured lol I had someone on here comment that he was her lawyer threatening to sue me haha
I used to go to the Earnhardt Birthday celebrations. Very sad she stopped doing those.
This place is no longer open. Looks like it shut down permanently.
Miss Dale.... interesting fact to know Dale used to race slot cars! DEI would have been a powerhouse organization if Dale survived.
that's interesting, I did not know that!
But what you just said got me excited cause I also worked on modifieds at Wall Stadium lol
Back in 2006 and 2007.
Kelly has 10,00000 times more business sense than Terresa ever did.
that bass pro number 1 is Jamie McMurray when he won the Brickyard 400 and the Daytona 500 in the same year
god i miss that man
I remember it being so quiet and surreal when I visited. It was almost depressing.
Yeah ive seen it packed and empty. its sad to see it like this
Did you also see his house which is also on the acre?
Its right next door. You can see it through the trees.
But you can actually rent it out for weddings and such
@@BrendanTheGent that would be awesome, did you know he's also buried there too?
What could have been (2001-present)
He also inspired 2 of the greatest coasters at Carowinds and Kings Dominion.
Watching this Video Hurts me to see what DEI could've been right now
Is this place still open for visitors?
Only a few days a week sadly
Is the car at the entrance the same car dale drove to win the Daytona 500?
No my friend, the car in front is from 1994.
His 1998 Daytona 500 car is at the RCR museum in welcome, NC. I still have to film there
Cool vid. What was the nationwide team you worked for if you don't mind me asking
Thank you so much, i used to work for Mike Harmon Racing.
Thank you for watching.
How did Sr got so many Winston Cup Series trophies
They have replica mustache kits there now
Dale Earnhardt's shop is at RCR in Welcome, NC.
Thats awesome. I wish i could have seen it in its hat day
If I could post pics on here I would I have a few
1:08 The Corvettes which aren't shown in the sequel video
I used to live a few miles down the road just off hwy 3... my father took me their for a candlelight vigil after he died
What song is playing in the background?
The "born on date" was jr.s Daytona 500 win. The red rim came from Kasey kahnes car because of a new tire compund that year led to a shortage in tires per car
Great video, hugs from Brazil !!!
Thank you so much!
I use to get those driver's cards at every race for all drivers. Thy gave away lots of swag in the 80s; even tobacco products.
Oh yeah, all the way up until 2007..now barely any give aways
*This is Teresa Earnhardt's lawyer, I regret to inform you that you must pay a fine for filming her late husband's legacy without permission*
Was there the other day. Unfortunately closed to the public. Took some pictures and remembered the old days.
5:15: the #01 Army car Mark Martin nearly won Daytona with, i was nine years old that crazyass day in 2007
I wonder what ever happened to his truck and trailer one that everyone signed after his death, I was difenty one of those guys that's signed it in a few place when it was in Fontana CA.....🤔
Its at the RCR museum. I will film there one day
@@BrendanTheGent Awesome great video..... I was watching that day with my old girlfriend just thinking it was just another crash !! ☹️☹️☹️... PS.... Me and my girlfriend had to pay are respects to one of the best drivers of all times!!
Man I think u should do it.. Wish I had that opportunity to work in the Nascar world... I know this vid is 1 1/2 years old but I hope u went for it.. Thanks for the video brother
I did go in a different direction but recently i have been putting my resume with teams again and also Nascar itself to be an official. I may get my cdl to apply for hauler driver
@@BrendanTheGent that's good news brother.. I hope it all works out for you.. God bless
#NUMBER3WILLLIVEON
His wife inherited DEI. She was like "Scarlett" in the Movie "Gone With The Wind." 🤣
After Dale Junior retired I guess I retired from watching it going to the track isn’t the same anymore it used to be like everybody was your friend now everyone’s ill mannered and rude guess I can just hold onto the memories!
Thank you so much. I was just starting to vlog then. So i learned alot more camera control since lol.
Yeah nascar isnt the same anymore. I cant watch
I took my family to DEI and we got an eerie feeling. It was dark, it just didn’t feel right. We did support them though and bought a lot of stuff in the gift shop.
I bet what you bought was Chinese made crap.
That's not a Truex car that's Jamie McMurray car when he won Daytona and Indy. I saw the 04 Jr. 500 winning car just a couple months after it came back to the shop back in 2005
